    Thinking about switching to iRacing

I can't help you with finding a way to give it a test run. However, I can agree with Jamman that moving to PC for sim racing is much better. Even if iRacing doesn't work out. There are several different options for sim racing on PC. Definitely more than PS4 or Xbox. Probably more than both...

    Coming over to iracing

The cost of everything sim racing related has skyrocketed now. iRacing has gotten so much hype with the TV stuff right now. Used to see an average user population of maybe 8000 in peak hours. Now its 15000 regularly.

Yes, both of those are available. The breakdown is like this. Rookie: Miata MX-5 (1 make [1M]) Class D: BMW M8 (1 make), Cadillac CTS or Kia Optima (mixed class [MC]), Formula 2.0 ( 1M ), Spec Racer Ford (1M), Formula Sprint F3 (1M), Skip Barber F2000 (1M) Class C: Advanced Miata (1m), IMSA...

    Thinking about switching to iRacing

No problem. Hopefully you enjoy it. BTW, don't get freaked out by the limited choices in rookie. They open up with each license class. Each series stays on one track for a week and then switches tracks. So you get plenty of time to practice.

    Thinking about switching to iRacing

Not long at all. It is based on your safety rating. The key is to complete races with as few incidents as possible. Incidents are off tracks and contact. When you first get on the service, go into a test lobby. You will be solo. Drop your tires off the track and even hit a wall at some point...

    Thinking about switching to iRacing

Pretty much all of the reasons myself and others switched. I haven't regretted making the switch. Just understand that you have to get through the mess of rookies. Then things get better. One of the great things about iracing... If someone is intentionally wrecking people, they get suspended or...

    Thinking about switching to iRacing

Can I ask what it is that you don't like about GT Sport? Yes, iRacing is immensely better than GT Sport. It's also a lot more challenging. The competition is much fiercer. I also feel like the matchmaking is far superior. Keep in mind, it's the sim that professional racers use as well. Reason...

iRacing 2020 Season 1 Update Now Available: The Dawn of AI, New V8 Supercars, and More

Did I read that correctly? 1GB VRAM? If so... it will be your bottleneck. You ideally need a min of 4GB of VRAM. Honestly, anything less than 3GB would require very low settings. The main reason being the size of tracks. You can try it. I would expect a lot of stuttering/ freezing issues. As...

    Coming over to iracing

The F3 is one of my favorites too. What you are saying about the SR is what I did. Once I got to B, I quit worrying about it. The only thing I would need an A for is F1. From what I hear, F1s are beyond difficult to step into on iracing. So, I am content with just a B. Now, I race and have fun...

    Coming over to iracing

Out of what you listed... The Skip Barber is one of the most popular series. It always goes official and has very good races. Instead of Renault 2.0, I recommend the Dallara F3. It has 2 different series you can run in and is very popular. The Ferrari 488 GT3 is extremely popular and also has...

    Coming over to iracing

The numbers are fair. Seems to vary some by track. It does not have the participation like the Ferrari GT3 series. Every race I've ran has gone official. I like them because they are difficult to drive. Once you get the hang of them, they are a lot of fun. Last week was Lime Rock Park, this week...

    Coming over to iracing

Once you graduate from rookies, it gets a lot better. Personally, I've only bought a few cars. I am slowly accumulating tracks. I've actually been running 2 of the free cars lately, Radical and SRF. I also like to run the F3. Each series uses some of the free tracks too.

    Coming over to iracing

Honestly, you do not want to buy all of the content. Some of the series have no participation. Also, you do get discounts when buying 3 or more things at a time. Once you purchase 40 items, you get a permanent discount. Then, it applies to all purchases, even just 1 item. The main thing is the...

    New update

I added you. I just don't get to race as much as I would like. I haven't been able to test the damage yet. I have ran the tires in the skip and the F3. They are so much better. Try the new Pro 2 Light truck, quite fun to throw around. @Corsa I'm hoping I can run the skip soon and test the...

    New update

Just saw that we will be getting the new damage model for the Skips in the upcoming update. We also see the new tire model expanded and a Pro Truck 2 for free. As always, some other goodies as well. Just wanted to spread the word. Happy Racing!

    Coming over to iracing

Welcome! Once you get through rookies, you will realize how much better iracing is. I switched from GTS too. I have been very pleased with decision.

    When are races scheduled??

In Iracing, it depends on the. You can generally find ranked races at any given time in the majority of the series. There is tuning and it gets more detailed and complicated has you advance. The higher the ranked series, the more tuning. You will start in a Mazda Miata in rookies. There is no...
