Here are the unofficial results from our league night on March 9, 2014

If you believe that another driver exhibited poor racecraft or is guilty of an S.N.A.I.L. OLR violation, please file a Racing Incident Report by 11pm Eastern / 8pm Pacific tonight. Be sure to follow the instructions precisely or your submission might not be addressed! If you're undecided on whether or not you should file an incident, please read this. Also keep in mind that an incident report isn't supposed to be an argument. Here are some good tips on how to make sure things stay civil and respectful. 👍

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution ll '91 (Sports Hard tires) at Nürburgring GP/F (5 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @joe_diben wins Prize A, they get to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Red Bull X2014 Junior (Racing Medium tires) at Road Course - Twin Ring Motegi (6 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @fizzer gets Prize B, he gets to either steal Prize C and "freeze" either the car or the track, or he can wait to see which part of the combo the Prize C winner "freezes" and the decide what car or track replaces the unfrozen part of the combo.

Prize C goes to @Xradkins so he gets to "freeze" either the car or the track of the combo that received the second most elimination votes.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your car and/or track selection until all racing complaints are filed and you are given the "all clear" to announce your selection. It's also important that you review our Car/Track History so that you can see a complete history of how many times we've raced each car and track (just scroll to the right of that tab). Please remember that originality is always appreciated. Therefore, picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). Most importanty, make sure you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, the car should not hit its rev limiter at any point during the race (even in the draft).

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $500,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting.

Apologies for the clumsy explanation of the Prize B and Prize C situation. I'll try to come up with a more concise way of wording it later.

@fizzer please go ahead and state your intentions on whether you would keep Prize B or steal Prize C if the results held up and you were officially names the Prize B winner.

Is 60 fps a limit of the display we're typically using or the eye/brain interface? And anything above that is irrelevant?

Sure looks good though :D
That's a far deeper question than you realize I think.
It will basically come down to how the game is programed. If they perfectly render motion blur, you could get away with as low as 18 fps (pre hd movies were here). Since that's simply not possible yet, games tend to shoot for the 60fps mark, so when your hardware can't keep up, you can't tell.

It has been shown that the eye can recognize the existence of 1/300th of a second blink of light, so if they have absolutely no motion blur programmed in (highly unlikely) it would take up to 300 fps to remove the flicker.

So I guess yeah I consider 60 fps to be the relevance cap, but again it all comes down to the motion blur being able to trick your eye into not realizing those are still frames going fast. I've not played Iracing, so you'll have to make your own judgement on the quality of their motion blur.

This
can explain it all much better than I.

Well, last night started out horribly. Qualified first for combo one, but couldn't make anything of it... Combo two was much of the same, even though I won race two. Combo three is where I really made it up there, qualifying first and gapping the field by 4 seconds. race two I ended up right behind @Kgffy, and settled 4th. Personally, I'd call that a victory considering how hard it is to pass. All in all, a good night with even better racing! Bring on next week!

Thank you all for racing and being a part of S.N.A.I.L.

@Oshawa-Joe can you update the Drivers list please? Thanks!

WOW! It's been two years! My buddy AJKVail and I loved this league from the first Sunday night we ran, when it was only two divisions mind you. It's awesome to see in those two years how the league grew and the impact it had on others, GTA participants. This has been a great two years with everyone and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Reading the posts since the beginning of the year and seeing the influx of new racers is, well, beautiful. And right off the bat, those people want to help the league, weather hosting, directing, replay uploading, data, ect. Not because they have to but because they see a great thing here and want to have more of an impact in the league other than just racing. The stewards, well, what can I say. Go guys have really kicked ass and spend a lot of personal time and I know I speak for everyone, thank you:cheers:.

Zer0 and kcheeb, look what you done! I bet you didn't think that S.N.A.I.L. would have turned out like this let alone lasting over two years and it still keeps going. Kcheeb, thanks for all you do and for all the time you put into making the documents for us. Zer0, thanks for making it possible to have great sponsors and the prizes each month.

Here's to another year in the BEST racing league on GTPlant:cheers:

Congrats to you both, and thanks for turnin me on to this league, and all the help you guys have given to make me a better player!!!

Thanks! We told you:sly:. I don't think it was us, I think it was the GranStand:)👍

First one is on me when we meet someday.

On raceday... I'd like to 'have one' on y'all.... but let's be real, even virtually.... Congrats! 👍

I'm not a drinker but if you buy, I'll have one with you and maybe one more, just because;)

West Coast (did not race due to maintenance on GT6 servers)

Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $250,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

This can explain it all much better than I.

What I'm getting from that essay is, FPS and refresh rates are less important than those values being constant, so the brain can get acclimated to the signals and fill in the blanks. Every brain and every eye is built differently, so what looks right to one may not look right to another.

I AM SO GLAD THAT THE RENAULT SPA COMBO STAYED! Thank you for nothing PD rendering WC1 unable to race and the maintenances(updates) were totally unworthy of causing us to miss a week of racing. On the flip side, glad I didn't have to race the RedBull Jr. I hope B prize winner would vote that car off because it is just a heap of stinking composite and metal.

I will counter Neovre's apparent hate for one of, if not, the best sounding cars in the game. Bring that Junior out for another round or two. I had fun with all 3 combos last night, but that Merc is just a schizoprhenic b:censored:. A whale under braking and an out of control rhino under acceleration. Required either extreme brake balance settings and/or masterful steering and go fast pedal control. It was still fun, but, the others were more fun.

I would label that a well worded and accurate assessment.

The Junior sounds amazing, yes. But it's a fake car with fake driving characteristics, completely unrealistic. I get it, in the end we're still playing a video game. But if I wanted to drive a car (in a video game) where all you do is mash the throttle and point the steering wheel with essentially unlimited grip and reverse thrusters for brakes, I'd play Need For Speed or something. Just my opinion, of course :)
