I hope I'm not asking to early, but what are the cars and tracks for this next Sunday? I want to start practicing as early as possible. :)

To be brutally blunt, to our international brother, or sister, SNAILs. If you run speed tests and ping tests to servers in North America, were I you, I would be picking servers at those sites as far away as you can get and still be on the North American continent, and can't get better than 125ms ping with at least 2MB download and 1MB upload, your racing in SNAIL, which started life as the Sunday North American Intermediate League, and has transmogrified to the Sunday Night American Interactive League, may not be in your, and every other SNAIL's, best interests.

Just saying.

Depending on the state of scores, votes, incidents reported, etc., it's entirely possible we won't know the combos until Wednesday. The sooner the above stuff gets hammered in, the sooner we can flatten out what we'll be doing next Sunday.

That's cool, another "carioca" at S.N.A.I.L! What division are you at?

And thanks for the tips about connection. I will pm you if needed.

The strangest thing of it all was that I noticed no lag, no nothing, I was just making a pass and then bum... Im out, waiting to join qualifying for the next race, bum... out again.

Div.3

As far as i know, you won't notice a thing, until you see someone else behaving very strangely when next to you, your view will be smooth and steady, but you can be having wild contacts on the other side, that's why it is good to check before the race. Disconnection doesn't mean that you are lagging, but you will loose those precious points.

That's great. Those votes have been entered in the D2 scoresheet. However, scoring relies on the positions of everyone who raced and who won each round's pole.
I had access to the sheet I just couldn't save the values. That's then scores unless I entered the values wrong

If the replays are out there, I can update the scoresheet when I get home.

If you have exhausted all those options and you still have one player that can't bee seen by multiple players then you need to ask the player that can't be seen to leave for the night. I would also suggest getting that player to find out what their NAT type is and have them run a speedtest and pingtest and post the results. The way that GT6 connects players allows for one subpar connection to wreak havoc with an entire room.

I've been playing GT games online since GT5p and there has always been the potential to not see another driver. I have noticed over my years of playing that when drivers can't see each other, it almost always involves the same drivers over and over.
Rookie here

should we not check all speed and ping at the time of racing (say Saturday Night ) to approximate Net usage. What are N1/2/3?? (fiber/cable/wifi?)

D7 Replays up...someone told me I could donate things to SNAIL to be sold for $shells...how to do it? Want to benefit SNAIL not moi.

NAT type can be found on your PS3's main menu under network settings. NAT 1 means your PS3 is connected directly to the internet more or less. Not many people have this setup. NAT 2 means you are direct to the router more or less. NAT 3 means you have a crap connection and won't be able to do anything. Those are not official definitions but they get the point across. NAT 1 and 2 = good, NAT 3 = fix it or find somewhere else to race.

NAT1 = all inbound ports are open directly to the internet. NAT2 = the inbound ports that PSN requires are open to the internet. If your router has UPNP, this is taken care of automatically. NAT3 = No inbound ports are open to the internet.

I have NAT 2 with my 4glte connection lol

There is a lot that goes into the tabulation and determination of which SNAIL driver has the opportunity to select the next car/track combinations. So, the decision takes several hours and 3-4 days - the Stewards review the Incident Reports (which some weeks are more than any of us are aware). Those IRs can, and many times do, effect the Winners Scores - which in turn can change who wins the Prize A, B or C choices.

Just be patient - practice the combos that are your weakest ....... maybe even join the Weekly Kart Series that runs on Tuesday nights. That will occupy your efforts and will take up the time while you are waiting for the Choices to be announced. After you have been around the league for a while it will be more understandable.

Glad to have your interest and enthusiasm.

@quattpequatt and I just finished getting the D2 scores for what he has and I will be getting what he didn't in a few minutes. Thanks to @msgt-sd for getting the replays up.

@Handlebar , I think you've been monitoring the state of scoring, so, when you see it's all squared away, let me know and I'll pull the trigger to get the results doc set up.

Pulling the trigger. If you don't hear from me shortly, I've been, <queue, James Bond music> kcheeb, 007 ejected into the stratosphere.

It appears the red button did what it has been told to do and I'm happy to report I'm still on the planet. All data specialists are cleared hot to enter timing data in their respective division's results sheet, located here.

Recently I got bit by the gt bug
At first time trials and tuning gave me my high
But alas it is always a game of chase
I tried to keep clean, and for awhile I was dry
but despite my best efforts I get more slimy each day
I avoided the forums lest my addiction
but one misclick threw that all away
I may be a Panda, but I can proudly say
I used to leave slime in my fat wake
and now maybe I will once again
if only I can stay awake

Sorry I got all poetic on you there, but I've been debating on making this post for a couple weeks now and accidentally clicking my S.N.A.I.L. tab was the straw that broke the camel's back. Yes, the whole time I've been gone I've kept a tab of the thread open just in case I decide to make this post.. It's been entirely too long since I've actually sat down and played gt and not just jacked around with tuning and silly cars. I miss snailing it out with you fine gentlemen and want to try and transition back into it.

So, what's up?

in an effort to help the new guys, would it be possible for a SNAIL official to make a post each Saturday (or whenever its locked to new members for that weeks race) to post a list of all the new drivers and the division they were assigned too? I and I'm sure others would send FR to those assigned to our division. Just a thought.
