There will be another steward hosted Race Craft, Sportsmanship and Strategy Clinic on Monday 17 November 2014, :@:9:30 PM EST. Seating is limited, so, as per the policy in this post, certain drivers will be given priority. For all other drivers who wish to attend, open seats will be made available Friday evening and the attendee list set by 12:00PM EST on Sunday. Once the attendee list is set, a convo will be started for more details and discussion.

To view the clinic schedule, click here.

This clinic's focus is not on how to be faster. However, to put an example out there of how the ideas and philosophies on racing this clinic expresses, can make you better, you may look no further than @Wolfsatz. He attended last month's clinic. While I doubt the clinic is the sole reason for it, he has enjoyed a fair amount of success since his attendance. 2 weeks running he is a prize candidate and is in a very good position to win the month in his division. to him.

Oh, it's plainly visible in replays.
Sorry for the delay, Data specialists, as some of you may have already discovered, are clear to enter timing data. Thanks to those having already entered their division's data! Generally speaking, if the score sheets for the week are in the Results doc, they are ready for timing data.

Dangit. A TOPP I needed for something else. Crap. Edit incoming.

Now that the SAVE button is out in the open....I was told that drivers in various leagues had programed the SAVE BUTTON TO THEIR WHEELS to aid in recovery for missed turn ins and off course aigricultural motoring. Personally I watched a chaser fall off and I thought...THATS THE LAST OF HIM....and there he was...again..... four corners later like nothing happened. I have used it in private practice...works great but was NEVER intended for race use. I have not experienced it in SNAIL since early Spring. I did hear of its blatant use in an endurance race under a different sanctioning body. I was also told that PD was looking to make it visable in replays to aid Stewards....hope thats how you caught them .:D
Well I know it wasn't me lol. I have never even thought of it then until I saw bowlers post. Usually I'm under the delusion that I can still save it!

Happy Veterans Day, all SNAIL veterans post up
USAF 2004-2008

I just started doing this... I don't think I did it in any races, practice for sure, just for the sake of not effing up everyone else on track.

Full stop now...

Happy Veterans day to all who have served, sacrificed, fought for the United States. Want to wish Happy Veterans day to all veterans around the world as well. Hope that veterans enjoy yourselves today and everyday. I am not a veteran myself, just wanted to show my appreciation for all veterans and active duty members of the military not just in the United States but the world as well as best as i can. Members of my family have served in the United States military which i miss them very much and others currently serving proudly.

oh i don't full stop i try to get er' goin and hopefully get out of the racing line to get back up to speed

Speaking of re-entry to the track. Last night we had a sizeable herd in pack racing and by and large we had a blast but I did notice a recurring theme. On NUMEROUS occasions I noted overly agressive ( overly ambitious ?) attempts to re-enter the track after off course excursions. Remember SNAIL ORs apply to all your SNAIL racing...not just on Sunday night....and by the way....they apply doublely so when you are racing in other leagues and special events as you are our ambassadors whenever you are on the track.

As a rule of thumb I come to a comple stop....look....then go. Remember the race you ruin may not be your own.

As Dragon mentioned, it's very obvious in the replay when someone does it. I have seen it twice now. The first time was a couple of weeks ago in a division that is still running with penalties on so I didn't think much of what I saw. The second one was this week and this division runs with penalties off so what I saw could have only been caused by the use of the start button, or "save" button.

Is there a set penalty policy in place for this type of behaviour at the moment?

I see the thrustmaster T300rs is now been advertised on our thread would anyone like to a review of the wheel done if enough intrest I will do one and post next week

If GT-6 etc is a Racing Simulator ......... then why would anyone think it was acceptable to "save" a mistake - and return to the track as though nothing happened?
How are you going to be motivated to improve, correct the mistake and race cleanly?
Drive as if it was a real car, in a real race - with real consequences to error.

Otherwise ..... go play a game where that kind of "cheating" is acceptable. Because it is NOT acceptable here.

For those asking about the penalty for use of a glitch. We have been lucky in that we have never had to impose a penalty for someone using a glitch to cheat in the game. Use of a glitch is prohibited by our OLR but there is no set penalty for using a glitch and there is no precedent to fall back on. There is currently a discussion among the stewards to make a ruling and set a precedent.

yeah THANK GOD i live in Canada!

Same here! I had appendicitis just after high school. I'd still be paying for it 13 years later if I lived across the border and saw a bill like that.....

Also, I give thanks to all of the veterans and people that currently serve to keep us free from all that wish to harm us in the world. We thank you for your bravery, honor, and sacrifice. Lest we forget.
