I learned something about tire temperature from watching the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring a few weeks ago. I always thought that the cars weaved left and right during the formation lap in order to warm up the tires, but apparently that isn't the case. One of the commentators said that the drivers heat up the tires by accelerating and then hitting the brakes, accelerating and then hitting the brakes, over and over again. They weave left and right in order to break in the tires - kind of like breaking in a pair of work boots - so they get better traction.
Braking loads the tyres much more and generates heat more quickly. Weaving scrubs the marbles and Other People's Rubber off the tyres, so things are less vague L1 T1. Though, it's still going to be a little sketch to go full send into T1 as you start with considerably lower pressures than ideal, and the tyres gain pressure into the optimum range as they warm up. About 1psi for every 10 degrees fahrenheit. I'll have a bunch more detail on this, and reply to some of the stuff I've meant to the past week. Just got back from a race, but I wanted to reply as the above post brings a bit of insight into how it all works. Funny as it was, on the warmup lap for the last race today, I was taking note of who else was warming tyres braking. Pretty much nobody.

Pace laps can be whacky. I've almost been taken out before the green several times. Adrenaline is a funny drug. Keep your tolerance up out there, folks.

I've been watching the 24 Hours of Le Mans all day, and several times they've mentioned how the W.E.C. banned tire warmers this year and the effect that this has had on out laps. The high today at Le Mans was 64° with intermittent rain. It's 55° and raining there now.

Here's what I have for the Grid List for tonight. Don't know if it's the way JL would've done it but, it's a place to start from.

Who do I have to add in order to enter the lobby
Technically? You don't have to add anyone to your friends list. Search by track and the Lobby name should come up for the SNAIL division you're in. If you like I can set up a lobby with the Sunday label and you can do a search for it.

Hosts should start on time tonight. The only reason to delay start is to allow a driver already in the lobby their 3 minutes to sort out connection issues

Scores and votes for Division 1 have been recorded.

Note: Since I didn't have access to the decoder ring for the results photos I was sent, I committed the mortal sin of typing in the GREY AREA !!!! Apparently, the sheet will not tally the results for a blank name in the grey area, so had to.

Fun night of racing! I self reported for off track penalties on HSR this morning, I suggest D2 racers check the replay and do the same because I saw many offenders while checking myself. Clean racing is the most important aspect of SNAIL so let's do our best!

Xrad and I saved replays. Do we just upload them to Youtube?

Edit: I'll be away for work today so may not upload until late this evening.
SNAIL Scorekeeping And Replay Technician Policy
All finishing positions, fastest lap for the race and combo votes must be entered, and replays must be tagged correctly and shared in game no later than 8PM ET on the Monday following our Sunday night races.

Note: A driver must race in the combo that they vote for at the end of the night.

Lap time and other data may only be entered in the results document BEFORE the information has been moved to SNAIL Data.

In the event that accurate finishing positions and combo votes are not entered by this deadline, the votes will not be counted that week and any prize winner from that division will be declared ineligible for prizes for that week. If any division has a recurring issue with not getting this done before the deadline, the BoD may step in and levy further penalties including multiple weeks of prize ineligibility or in extreme cases, forfeiture of all points for a week in which data is not entered.

All replays must be shared in game and be "tagged" under search tag #1 using the following naming convention: YYYYMMDDdxrxrx To break that down YYYY = year of race, MM = month of race, DD = date of race, dx = division#, rx = round#, rx = race#. An example of this would be 20171203d1r3r2 = 2017 Dec. 3 Division 1, Round 3, Race 2.

Exemptions to this policy can be granted in unusual situations provided that a director a member of the BoD, @zer05ive @JLBowler @nmcp1 @SAMHAIN85 @llNovall @Akzl298 is notified of the issue before the deadline.

In order to enter scores into the scoresheet, you must have permission to edit the document. If you do not have permission to edit the document and would like to or need to keep score, please submit a request for access to @JLBowler via conversation on GTPlanet. You will need to provide an email address for the invitation to edit to be sent to. This request should be made the Saturday before race night. Waiting until just before race time on Sunday will usually result in you not having access in time.

Where on YouTube can I watch the replay or do u have a link
In general it's better if you save race replays locally. If you haven't, once the replay uploader has them shared through GT7/PSN you can search for them in the GT7 showcase by the tag they should have with each.

Trak Racer has a sale on right now and the TR160 MK4 looks really good. Anyone here using one of these?
If I were looking for a cockpit, I would consider Fanatec's if they weren't going through a buy out right now.
