Excellent suggestion - one-percenter did confuse some folks. SNAIL Concourse Club it is. And Spa would be great with that car too, so let's go with that and avoid potential Bathurst network issues.
Reminder: the SNAIL Concourse Club Inaugural Race is taking place this Friday night at 9:30 PM Eastern. We've confirmed the Ferrari 250 GTO at Spa for the first combo. We'll do at least one other combo, hopefully two, and this is where you come in - what should those other two combos be?

How about the sweet looking super-low powered Abarth?

I bet this would do well at Mardrid, amongst so many other nice tracks.

Here are the unofficial results from our league night on August 24, 2014

If you believe that another driver exhibited poor racecraft or is guilty of an S.N.A.I.L. OLR violation, please file a Racing Incident Report by 11pm Eastern / 8pm Pacific tonight. Be sure to follow the instructions precisely or your submission might not be addressed! If you're undecided on whether or not you should file an incident, please remember that clean racing is not only your right, it's also your responsibility and something that we all need to be accountable for. 👍

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - GTR-GT500 Base Model '08 (Racing Hard tires) at Suzuka Circuit (6 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Xradkins wins Prize A, they get to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.
PLEASE NOTE: Since @Xradkins has already won Prize A this season, he is ineligible to win it again until next season. This means that unless he loses Prize A due to incident reviews, any driver who competed in Division 2 on Sunday night will have the opportunity to suggest an entirely new car and track combo. I recommend that all D2 drivers from Sunday night start thinking about combos they would like to suggest. That way, you will be ready to post it if/when @Dragonwhisky give the "all clear". Also, please be sure to only suggest one combo. Any driver who suggests more than one combo will automatically be ineligible to suggest any combos at all. Please don't let that happen to you. Only suggest ONE combo (but not until @Xradkins is confirmed as the Prize A winner).

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Chevrolet Camaro SS Touring Car '10 (Race Hard tires) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @jimeez gets Prize B, he has the option to "freeze" the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the "freeze" away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Daniel Setili so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review some data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Race Date: 24 August 2014

This week's prize winners are clear to make their selections. Good racing!

IR Submission Form is now closed.

We have 7 incidents on file. Deadline for reviews is NLT 10PM Eastern on Friday, August 22nd, 2014. Since we are not officially racing this coming Sunday (Labor Day break) I would prefer if we, meaning the Stewards, could rock this batch out and maybe we can get some serious loafing in next week.

Also, to all the Data Specialists. There will be some major Divisional changes for next season, as we are moving to 8 Divisions. Lets see if we can rock out the timing data quickly this week so P&R can get done and a couple more TEAM SNAILs can loaf as well. Thanks!

Curious if HB missed my update or is spinning off of it. Definitely the Abarth Bertone over the Elan. Reverse Madrid works for me. Let's lock that puppy in!

Combo 3?

What's this whole Concourse thing? And I hate Madrid. So flat and some sections I can't find a rhythm. Is it meant to be older classic cars? Why not keep the tracks classic too. Use 80's Monza and 80's Brands Hatch, the full course.

- this is where we currently are (unless someone's since replied to advance the discussion); there is no separate thread as this is a special event, not a series.

Please note this is a work in progress; we're still finding the right combo 3 for this inaugural race. You could call it the street magic version of SNAIL.

This is a special event - roughly one Friday per month, in this case this upcoming Friday, August 29 - where we run the cars that are far too expensive for SNAIL proper. It's a one-room session open to all SNAILs who wish to have the Sunday experience minus all of the organization. Two cars so far: 250 GTO at Spa and the Abarth Bertone at Madrid. Your Madrid concerns are noted and appropriately filed away. I encourage you and any others who are interested and have an opinion to provide a different suggestion. To be blunt, I don't really care what tracks you don't like but I am interested in tracks where you think a certain car would provide tight clean racing.

I was holding out following up on this with the hope it would land relatively alone. To clarify and quell potential confusion, the Concourse Car Club is a one-off special event this Friday that is open to all SNAILs. The Race of Champions is a monthly all star race being run on Thursday of this week (normally it's on Friday) that features the best racers from each division racing three combos from the season. The RoC is a meritocracy, where you need to earn your spot on the grid which is unlike the Concourse Car Club, where you need to buy your way onto the grid.

The Concourse Car Club is for the cars that are far, far too expensive to use in SNAIL proper. If the inaugural race works and there is continued interest we can move it to a once-per-month special event.

I really like this idea. I've been trying to grind the boredom to get some of these cars and this would really make it fun. I love watching those vintage races at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Not sure how this works... So, confirmed, A/H?

In light of the RoC actually being on Friday instead of Thursday we'll kick the Concourse Car Club back one more week - first race will be on Friday September 5. (RoC takes precedence.)

Which gives us another week+ to sort out the combos . . .

Sorry about that and thanks. I had the whole post prepared, but of course read my calendar wrong.

What's this whole Concourse thing? And I hate Madrid. So flat and some sections I can't find a rhythm. Is it meant to be older classic cars? Why not keep the tracks classic too. Use 80's Monza and 80's Brands Hatch, the full course.
This is a special event - roughly one Friday per month, where we run the cars that are far too expensive for SNAIL proper.
Did you guys here about this new record?! :boggled:
