Ok, so we've gone through like 3 pages since I got out of work 3 hours ago. If anything relevant, other than divisional placement complaining happened, let me know :)

Nothing to see here. Move along;)

I only got two wins at SNAIL, being safe to say that I earned them both.

At Brands Hatch, I was in 3rd. Both 2nd and 1st places made mistakes which landed me the win.

At Trial Mountain, I finished last in Race 1. I didn't give up in finishing one position, as I battled someone until the last turn. Started on pole for Race 2. Full concentration mode to not give up the lead. BOOM. Confetti. And a win.

But thanks to the great job that those guys do, I got placed in D2 and I have fun every night I race because I'm not winning all time. I'm always having a hard time to even finish among the top 5. I'm usually battling for 6th, 7th, 8th. And I'm always having a great time. Because I'm having hard, fair, close racing at all times.

@chatva in a Thursday practice room was able to give @martin20az a run for his money at Daytona Road Course. Chatva at the time was D5. Martin was and still is in D1.
Should I say anything more?

Wow, can't believe some of this stuff I'm reading. Let me give you the perspective from a low time sim driver and new to online racing.
I joined the league in D8 in May, did well the first night, but the second week I won it all, got me 100 points, sure that was cool, but there were four of us! The others were probably just having a bad night. This in no way went to my head ,even when the next week I got 98 points. I'm old and mature enough to realize whats what. The month of June saw all of D8 join D7, which was better and more challenging but there were still on average just 8 of us. I had a great month and finished fourth.
Now in July there are a bunch of D8,7,6 and a couple of new guys all racing together in D6, and you know what, last night, racing in a room with 13 guys was the best night I have had so far, first time I didn't see a podium and ended up 6th overall. I had fun in each race, great battles and learnt more than any night before.
I think @JLBowler and the rest of the main crew are doing a great job, and if some of you don't like it, well..........

i know the feeling of not winning but still having massive fun
been driving LFS S2 for years, still do sometimes

Again with the misinterpreting and straying off topic...and isn't an equal chance of winning the point of close, competitive racing, though?

Anyways, there's being a second off pace and four seconds off pace. If you still need explanation go somewhere else

Equal chance of winning equals close competitive racing. But not vice versa. Snail promises close competitive racing between at least two members at all times. Snail does not promise an equal chance of winning.

Fin.

Let's not forget about @TEX36 holding off three of us at grand valley on Thursday 👍

yea we understood it now its like D1 has D1a and D1b for obvious grid filling purposes
thats ok with me, i didnt know at first because im new and tought there was plenty drivers for all the diffrent divisions/skill levels

The next page will start with post number #63781. The longer it takes to get that post, (and the one after it for Steward use) the longer it will be before combos can be chosen for next week.

It's all good. I don't want anyone worrying about my TOPP-hunting. Unless of course the thread is dead and I need help getting to one. However, that doesn't appear to be a problem right now.

Hey I'm trying to do my part but I can't get a post in edgewise

I'm not sure but when will the info about next Sunday come out?

Step 1 - Let Zero have top post on next page
Step 2 - Zero announcers tentative Winners
Step 3 - Within next 1-2 days, Dragonwhiskey gives heads up on incident reviews, and if no prize winners are implicated, prize selections are open
Step 4 - We wait until prize winners announce - I believe the deadline is sometime early Thursday evening (before the weekly practice starts around 9:15pm)

There are exact times when each of these are supposed to be wrapped up (which you can find by digging through post 1 and associated links), and some of this may be a little off, but bottom line is that this is a close description to those details, and we will know the answer anywhere between midday tomorrow and midday Thursday. Proper etiquette (once understanding the process, or getting slapped by a fish enough times... :-D) is to simply wait for the prize winners to announce during that rough window.

Also, had fun with you in D5 and saw your prior post. Don't be too worried about consistency in traffic - when I started I was the same way (and still am to a certain extent - I think I have trust issues haha).

Oh... and dont take post #63781

I believe there are some folks working on a wiki page of sorts, or perhaps a full on website. This has been discussed multiple times even since I joined (only about 5 months ago), and there are a number of pro's/con's I'm sure you'll hear about if you get involved... I'm sure someone on that end of things will see this and direct you to a less public forum (like a PM to discuss).

That's great that you are willing to help though, and we all agree there are definite benefits that could be had - it's just that there are a lot of roots here too, and probably less traffic/league publicity if not located within GTP.

For the time being, if you didn't know about it personally (I know you weren;t the one asking the question), but you can find a lot of helpful links/FAQ info here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/◆-s-n-a-i-l-spec-racing-full-grids-of-evenly-matched-competition-for-all-skills-levels-join-us.235094/page-1697#post-9439846

I just have a set of bookmarks, with this being a biggie, to help track things down as needed.

Since we're talking about practice and all that stuff, I have a question to you all.

For some reason, since I've joined SNAIL I noticed this on my behaviour on the race track. When I practice during the week (official or not practice rooms), I'm usually "slower" (can't match the same fast pace I do during practice) on Sunday. As example, I have both of my wins and my 1st full weekend. When I got my first pole here at SNAIL, we were racing the 2000GT at Rome. I never made a lap with that combo, and somehow I got the pole (1st combo of the night, 1st race I done on SNAIL). Both of my wins, Suzuki concept @ Brands Hatch and RX-7 GT300 @ Trial Mountain, I had never driven those combos, and did way better than I thought I would do.

Same thing happened on Saturday on another league I race. During Practice before Qualifying, I running top 5, turning low 59s on Silverstone National. Then on qualifying and on the races (we run 3 as well during the race day, it's a touring series) I wasn't able to match the same pace I had during Practice. Out of 16 cars, I finished 8th and 13th (didn't complete the 3rd race, decided to watch Brazil vs Netherlands... '-').

Has that ever happened to anyone? Or would anyone know why this happens and could help me?

Used to happen to me all the time. Always felt like I had less grip with more cars on track and end up 1+ seconds off my pace. Might be that I don't give myself proper time to warm up before race time. I'm not at the point where I can simply jump on track and run my best laps. Even in combos I know very well (F1 Lotus at Spa) it will take me a few laps to shake off 1 second a lap worth of rust. Probably due to age and eye sight.

D1 appears to have missed the boat. Scoring has been moved to the Results sheet and all data specialists are cleared hot to enter the timing data. Suggest you write the total times somewhere else, delete from the results sheet, enter best laps and gaps and put the total times back in, to keep down the page meltdowns that will occur if the total time values are left in. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE TOTAL TIME VALUES TO SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE RESULTS DOC/FILE. That will only mess up the formulas that do all the calculating. Trust me, I tried that last week and spend several minutes trying to figure out what I'd done and fix it.

If anyone in D1 has the pole and finishing positions, please pm me that data and I will get it entered. Thank you.

Glad to here d6 was better this week.
This was the first Sunday I missed since joining the league in Feb.
Still trying to build up enough credits to race since my ps3 crashed and burned and I lost all my data. Hard to find the time to commit with everything else happening life.
Hopefully see you guys soon...Cheers:cheers:
I started a new psn account last week and spent all my practice time getting my profile built up so I could do red bull races to earn money for the cars. It can be done. I just wish I could have practiced the cars more. See you on the track soon. Hopefully in my rear view, lol.

What will happen if D1 results aren't there by post #63781? Prize eligibity impact?

Feel free to not answer. (I'm being serious haha)

Ground rules by the way... how are we protecting the magic number? I'm waiting for like 4 people all to post within 5 seconds of each other when we only need 2 more.
