I realize this is out of place, but I'm not having any luck searching for an answer.

I have an iPhone 4s and for some reason, it has songs on my phone that shouldn't be there. I have 1 playlist that I sync from my desktop with 274 songs, but the status bar on the bottom says I have double that. I even removed all the music (zero songs to sync) and it says I have 273 songs on my phone still. I seem to have double of some songs, but also have others that aren't supposed to be there at all. Any idea how to fix this?

I've tried to restore my phone, but got some error. That could be part of the problem. Thanks for any help.

Yes, I've backed it up to the cloud and to the desktop. It syncs with the icloud every morning.

One of my racing heroes, holder of the fastest lap ever on the nordschliefe (Stefan Bellof - 6:11.13 in a Porsche 956 - that's him, supposedly on that very lap, in my avatar) lost his life at eua rouge after making side by side contact with Jackie Ickx at the entry point, whose in car camera captured the incident and aftermath. I'm not going to post the video but you can find it easily if you go looking. I can't help but think of that on the first lap every time we run Spa.

Somewhat ironically, the production street legal record at the nordschliefe was set by one of my favorite cars... A Radical SR8 LM, driven Michael Vergers, in 6:48. If you've never seen that...



He also held the prior record, in a Radical SR8 of course. Also a great watch, especially the hairy moment at 5:43 where he gets a little light on a downslope...



I'm glad this radical pilot was ok after that terrifying moment.

Did you try swiping your phone again?

Yea, still getting an error saying it can't restore. I just manually deleted all the songs I didn't want. I'll have to stop by the Apple store someday.

My mother is having the same problem with her 4s and she has just been dealing with it and here soon she will be able to upgrade to the 6.

@CoachMK21 have you checked at the bottom of Music on the iPhone's info bit of iTunes? It might be the reason or I am just beating a dead horse.
