Sounds interesting. I'm tired of doing Blue Moon, but I need more details. Thanks.
Campaign; GT League; Professional League; Nostalgic 1979; Race 2; XJ13 ‘66 @ 643HP, 2002 lbs. I’ve tried the other cars like the 64 Daytona coupe but it’s not nearly as easy as with the jaguar (was a gift car $20million)
Edit: I was able to complete this race in just under seven minutes with a clean race bonus of 240,000 credits.

Well I guess spending $1 000 000 on the Gr1 car was a waste of money, now another $1 000 000 for the GrX. Fine print. Fine print. What's a few credits among friends. @Xradkins do what I do to reap cash: campaign mode; GT League; Professional League; Premium Sports lounge; Race 1 @ Blue Moon in a tuned XBow. Search GTPlanet for "
Fastest XP/Credit Farming Setup" It's a 12 minute race. With car handicap and a clean race you get $375 000. I used it to buy all my $10 000 000+ cars. Happy farming.
Thanks for this suggestion and path. However, the KTM is very sketchy to handle. OVER steers on turn 2 every time I put the effort into it. Max HP min lbs and every tire tried but still over-steers.
So I used my mustang Road Car and caught that Ferrari. Just have to be real careful not to touch or be touched by anything to get the bonus points for over 300,000.

When I first used the XBow it had terminal oversteer, until I noticed the tires; front: RH rear: RSS. Glad you were able to make some money. I'm going to give @Rob Brown 's combo a try as my last big purchase happened to be the XJ13. Hope you make it to combo 3 on Sunday.

The Snail Sunday Scoring sheets for October 11 have been prepared

My last post here was nearly 17000 messages ago back in May 2018. Since then I sold my G29 and gave my copy of GTSport to the guy who bought it. Haven't raced in nearly 3 years.

But I think things are aligning to the point where I can pick up a Fanatec CSL Elite starter bundle and a Playseat Challenge lounge chair to replace my old G29/kitchen chair/sewing table combo.

To that end I was just making sure you guys were still here. I see it has diminished a bit to 2 Divisions...which always happens near then end of the run of a game.

I checked and saw my old game save is still on my PS4 so all I would really need is to download the game from the store and buy all the equipment. Then try to remember which way is right and left.

I'll check back in after I have taken the plunge as long as you guys are ok with a old fart coming back.

I have read the first post and would like to rejoin.

@GTP_Guido

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, Rednose58, MajorBlixem, SAMHAIN85 & llNovall as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

  2. CreAtlveManlAc ---- voted to eliminate Round 3
  3. aedenmaddok ------- voted to eliminate Round 3

  9. basswerks1 -------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  10. Alexrider007 ------ did not submit a vote
  11. Skills_19657 ------ voted to eliminate Round 2
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - HYUNDAI N 2025 VISION GRAN TURISMO (RM) at Tokyo Expressway - East Outer Loop - 18:00 Clear (9 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @MikeGrove wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - ZAGATO ISO RIVOLTA ZAGATO VISION GRAN TURISMO (RH) at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca - 18:00 Clear (11 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @BB25 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @LST so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

Currently tracking 5 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. All winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report has been posted.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

All potential prize winners will be included in a conversation in the next few mintues that will contain instructions and deadlines.

@MikeGrove is clear to make his prize A selection. Nobody else is clear to make their selection at this time.

Always a pleasure for you to come back and race again on track. Not as many racing now i believe due to the PS5 coming out in less than 30 days with the possibility of GT7 being released along side the system or maybe GT7 being released before 2020 is out. Hopefully there will be a strong interest still for Snail on the new system and game.

https://blog.playstation.com/2020/10/14/ps4-system-software-update-8-00-launching-today/

Our latest system software update for PlayStation 4, version 8.00, is launching today globally. This update includes changes to the existing Party and Messages features, new avatars, updated parental controls and more.

Here are some of the key features in this update:

Updates to Party and Messages
Following this update, Party and Messages will be more tightly linked together and you will see changes to the UI. Both apps will now use the same ‘Groups’ of players for Party voice chats and message exchanges, instead of having different groups setup across the two apps. So now you can start a Party chat or send a message to the group you’ve previously chatted with across PS4, as well as PS5 when it launches.

New Avatars
We’re expanding the collection of pre-set avatars for players to showcase on their Profile. An array of new avatars from your favorite games will be available, including Bloodborne, Journey, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, The Last of Us Part II, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and many more.

Mute all Mics from Quick Menu
We’ve added an option to “Mute all Microphones” in the Quick Menu, so you can easily mute your mics while gaming.

Simplified and more flexible Parental Controls
Under Parental Controls, we’re combining the ‘Communicating with Other Players’ and ‘Viewing Content Created by other Players’ into one setting – ‘Communication and User Generated Content’- to cover both areas of communication and UGC sharing. This offers a simpler setting that’s easier for parents to understand and apply to their children.

In addition, children can send a request to their parents to use communications features in specific games. When a child sends this request, the parent will receive an email notification and can choose to make an exception for that game and allow the child to use its communications and UGC features. This will provide more flexibility to both parents and children.

Enhanced 2-Step Verification
The 2-Step Verification (2SV) feature on PS4 will be enhanced to support third party authenticator apps as an option during the activation flow and 2SV sign-in across PS4, mobile and web.

Removal of Event Creation and Private Community Creation
After 8.00, you will no longer be able to create Events or access existing Events created by other users.

We’re also removing the ability to create private Communities under the Community app on PS4. If you already have existing private Communities, you can continue to access them.

Updates to Remote Play App on Mobile and PC
At the same time as 8.00, the existing PS4 Remote Play app on mobile (iOS/Android), Windows PC and Mac, will change its name to PS Remote Play, and the option to connect to PS5 will be added. You’ll need to sign in to PSN from your PS5 to be able to access the feature, so sit tight until PS5 launches this November!

As a reminder, a PS4 system with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended to download the update.

Steward Update

Not really an update. Just quoting what I posted yesterday. The stewards will have reviews completed sometime today to announce the other two prize winners.

@MikeGrove is clear to make his prize A selection. Nobody else is clear to make their selection at this time.
