The round that received the most elimination votes was:

Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Yugofan wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY 2014 (SS) at Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa - 05:00 Clear (9 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @CANOWORMS1 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Timlour so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

I believe you are correct. At the beginning of January I was pleased as punch when I won my first ever race in Snail, and now to get a division win....WooHoo. When I told my brother he wondered if anyone else had shown up. Bastard. He's my least favourite, only brother. I raced cleaner than usual and it paid off, as did all the practice. It only took a year, but hey... @CdnSweetTee may not agree with my clean racing assessment as she was the recipient of a number of 'love' taps from me

Congratulations on the season victory! As for the racing, I have zero complaints about how I was raced and as far as the "love taps" I'm sure I helped on a few of those, Lol.
Looking forward to next season.

Prize winners are allowed to choose the time of day for their track selection. If a specific time of day is not selected then the default time of day will be used. (Note: The time of day settings differ between arcade and online modes in the game. Always check the lobby settings when selecting time of day.) In the event that a track is frozen, the time of day will also be frozen with the track.

Please remember that any car and track combo chosen must produce a mid-division lap time that is under 5 minutes. Also note that any selected track will be bound by the SNAIL lobby settings.

Also remember that any car chosen must not hit the rev limiter at any time, even in the draft.

Just wanted to share some pics of our setups in this household....... @CdnSweetTee has the rig with the red/black seat and she even has arm rests

I'll be spending tomorrow hiding all the wires and making it look a little cleaner.


The last pic is a of the Gran Turismo die cast cars I've found over the last few years. (I have a bit of a problem with collecting die casts...have close to 2000 +/-)

Just mine.
We picked up the frame for @CdnSweetTee on Amazon for under $200 and then I bought an office chair that was on sale at Staples and took the seat off, and a little drilling here and there and we have a rig lol.

Attention Fanatec users!!!
Ok I'm seriously looking at the CSL Elite Starter Kit but after reading a mix of reviews I have some questions....

1). My current setup is the Thrustmaster T300RS GT with upgraded T3PA Pro pedals. Would this Fanatec starter kit be a huge upgrade from what I have, or would it be an upgrade at all?

2). This starter kit is obviously entry level so can it be upgraded significantly or is it pretty limited?(Can I turn this into a top tier Fanatec wheel?)

3). This starter kit would be stretching my set-up budget to the max, so should I pull the trigger now or continue to use my current wheel and save up for another year to get a better Fanatec wheel?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

@Timlour below are your choices for Prize B.

 

Last spring I made the above transition, exactly. I had a T300RS GT wheel and T3PA pedals (not Pro). The wheel was not calibrating properly. I didn't have a windows computer so no updates available. I panicked. What if it dies amid COVID lockdown? So I bought the Fanatec CSL elite wheel and pedals and added the load cell brake pedal. In hindsight I suspect the Thrustmaster only needed a firmware update.

What I've found:
1) The biggest 'Pro' is the load cell. I've moved to the stiffest spacers and the brake now has positive feel and I believe has improved my braking ability.
2) I like that I can make adjustments to the wheel in game, most notably the degrees of rotation lock to lock.
3) The wheel diameter is slightly larger which I like.
4) Fit and finish on the Fanatec is superior. The wheel mount system on the Thrustmaster seemed more robust, though.
5) The D-pad of the Thrustmaster is replaced with a joy stick. Less robust? Time will tell.
6) The Fanatec wheel has a gear change light bar on the housing that I found distracting and have since covered in electrical tape.
7) Price. Fanatec = 2x Thrustmaster.

Did I like the Thrustmaster? Yes.
Am I happy with the Fanatec? Yes. LC best feature.
Would I do this again? Yes. (If the Thrustmaster was really broken) No. (If the Thrustmaster wasn't broken). I've given my brother the old Thrustmaster, but he hasn't got it up and running yet to see if my switch was necessary.

Cruise Youtube and search CSL Elite vs Thrustmaster. To save you time...the CSL Elite is a better setup IF you can afford it. If you are on a lower budget then the Thrustmaster will serve you well. But if you can afford it, and it looks like you can, get the Fanatec
