If anyone is looking for a PS5, I was able to pick one up ... simply by receiving alerts from:
https://twitter.com/PS5StockAlerts

When retailers have a supply, this Twitter account sends out a tweet with a link to the corresponding retailer. I was able to get one from Best Buy ...
No gimmicks ... I’m not affiliated in any way to the Twitter account listed above. Just passing on a tip ...

FYI - I only had to follow this account for a couple days in order to secure a PS5. Be sure to sign up for the “alert” function, as they obviously sell out within minutes.

Does a dd1 work on playstation I thought only dd2 did
Natively, neither the DD1 or DD2 work with PlayStation. Either could be used with third party equipment (e.g. DriveHub). For PS5, Sony amped up the security, so the DriveHub didn't work initially. Trial and error among the sim community eventually found a work around.
The F1 DD1 is the offering that is PS4/PS5 compatible. However, they ram the $700 F1 rim down your throat b/c Sony makes them sell a complete base/wheel package. I don't have a clue why a GT style wheel wasn't chosen - probably because of an available avenue with the F1 organization.

The drivers list and grid lists have been updated and are ready for this week's racing. All new drivers that submitted a time trial have been added to the list. @Gregyx96

If you are in D2, I strongly suggest that you get into the room well before race time. If you are trying to enter the room after 9:29 PM ET and it's full, you are out of luck for the night. If you are tying to get in and the room is full before that time, you need to post in this thread that the room is full and you want to get in. If you don't post here, you're out of luck for the night. Nobody should take it upon themself to leave the room to let someone else in and change divisions.

This one started right up without issues.

So... troubleshooting only gave me a bit of hope and increased the itch. Applying some Amazon points and new G29 will be here on Sunday. :D:gtpflag:

Wolf Update: End of 2019 and 2020 was full of surprises and ups and downs at home and at work. However, Thanks to God things have settled down and are a bit more normal both at home and at work. Enjoying working from home and not having to drive 120 miles each day. I am glad to see quite a few of the Snails Vets around. Maybe my dear friend @Harry Rowley can now return the favor and assist with the rust!

Been playing a lot of 6 hours of Racquetball a week which is what has kept my sanity on the good side.

@Kgffy still racing on a controller?
Wheel seems to be Kaput beyond repair.... any feedback on better settings for better handling?

Snail Leadership.
With the incoming G29 which should be arriving later today. I respectfully request to re-Re-REJOIN Snail on this year that marks its 10th year! That is quite a milestone! Glad to see that Snail Lives On and that many veterans are still around.

@Wolfsatz

Here's your official SNAIL, 10th Anniversary Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, Rednose58, MajorBlixem, SAMHAIN85 & llNovall as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

@JLBowler Looking at the driver list and taking into account who has been racing regularly, as well as seeing a few old faces re-appearing in practice lobbies this week, I have no doubt that we will once again run into the problem of having more than 16 drivers tonight in D2.
As mentioned, if the lobby is full and eligible drivers cannot get in they will post here. What is the process from there? Who goes where to make room? Just trying to get everything sorted ahead of time and hopefully make the night go a little smoother than last week.
tagging @Noob01_lmdead as he will be hosting D2 tonight.

Once a driver posts in this thread that they can not enter the room because it is full, I will manage who moves where to make room. Someone from D2 will need to be monitoring this thread so that they can instruct the driver to move if necessary. Who moves is determined by the priority list, which is also the drivers list. Lowest on the list is the first to move. D1 will also need to be paying attention to the thread as they will be receiving drivers if there is overflow.

I want to reiterate that nobody in D2 should take it upon themself to ask a driver to move or to volunteer to move to another division. Just wait for instructions from. Also remember that you must post here before 9:25 PM ET that you can't enter because the room is full. We will not move drivers for someone trying to enter the room after that time.

Question for the BoD.
How does a first time driver get priority over current drivers who raced as recently as last Sunday?

And speaking of seeing some old faces re-appear, I thought I would share some photo's from way back in 2017 in Snails 2nd official season on the GT Sport platform. The racing was just as good and just as close but liveries have come a long way, Lol.
Welcome back @Wolfsatz

Full time status goes before part time status. New drivers start as full time status.

Seems like this too might need to be amended.
If one or more existing drivers are pushed out of their division because of one or more new drivers, that seems unfair.
I'm glad to see new drivers coming into to league, but I don't think they should get division priority over existing drivers, whether they are full time or part time.

Maybe a "New" status placed on a new drivers that puts them on the list behind Ful or Part time drivers.

They can race but they have to race up in the event their division is full.

2/14 D1 Data complete @Timlour @Rednose58

Tim - thanks for entering starting positions and gaps during race night as score keeper. All I had to do for data entry was log fastest laps. And as you can see, D1 fastest laps are pretty damn close

D1 data.PNG

For some reason as I was entering @MikeGrove 's fastest laps, the data sheet had his boxes selected as white text. I had to manually change the text color to black everytime I entered his lap, otherwise it looked as if I had entered nothing and the box remained blank. Not sure whats going on with that but just letting you know @Rednose58

(To all scorekeepers and Data Specialists): There is a row or two that has that problem where the text color is white. It is a problem somewhere in the programing behind the scenes. If that happens, you can copy a cell above or below and "Paste Special / Paste format only" over that cell. This will change the text color, and it will also keep the conditional format that changes the color in case it is the fastest of the race. You can do the same with other cells of it happens in a different column.

Acually, part time drivers are the single most difficult thing to deal with when leveling divisions and trying to have divisions be as full as possible. They don't provide a consistent stream of data to determine which division they really belong in and they don't show up consistently enough to be used to determine the count on any given night. They really aren't anything but extra drivers in addition to the guys that show up at least 75 percent of the time and are racing for a seasonal championship.
