Scores for Mar 7 have been copied to data

March 2021 Preliminary Standings

The IR backlog has been caught up. There is a new thread created for 2021 steward summaries.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to @Rob Brown for working on the backlog.

We have extended invitations to three individuals to join, or rejoin, the stewards ranks.

@IceWarden will be rejoining the group after a long time away and @Phlano099 and @Akzl298 will be joining as new members of the stewards.

I am going to familiarize myself with the new process ASAP. The inner workings of modern spreadsheet madness...scary :)

Attempting to purchase a used vehicle to replace my tired 02 Expedition for the last week. Going out to look at some examples today. Hopefully my search for a quality vehicle at a reasonable price comes to an end today.

The IR’s really need to get current in this league and drivers put on warning/probation. We have drivers who are not following the rules and regulations. Doesn’t do any good to file an IR right now with the current backlog. It’s pointless.
I'm not sure how to start, so here goes:
I'm not a fan of nebulous statements such as; "We have drivers...". Being relatively new, somewhat aggressive and somewhat ragged, and on probation in SNAIL, I feel I'm the "driver" referred to here. Especially when @Nick Cannella exited the lobby right after he and I came together in the last corner R2R2, lap 1. In my opinion, I wasn't at fault as Nick was diving inside me and there is a car width of room on the inside of the apex. What I miss is the ability to sit around with others and talk about these exact sorts of things.

Having said that, my name appears in the Steward's Review sheet way too often and that's totally on me. Aggression without skill is a disaster, and way too often I think that has described me. My goal for the future is to not be the cause of any more incidents.

I can't believe what I just had to do...I filed an IR on myself for knocking Tex off at the hairpin at Dragon Trail. This has got to stop.

D1 is missing round 1 race 1 from the replays. It does not appear in a search using the tag. Please check the tag and advise.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - LEXUS AU TOM'S RC F 2016 (GT500) (RH) at Tokyo Expressway - Central Outer Loop - 18:00 Clear (15 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Xexploit wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7 GR.3 (RH) at Fuji International Speedway - 04:45 Clear (9 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @notime72 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Timlour so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

Don’t know how much you guys peruse GT Planet forums but there’s some pretty cool schtuff to be found. Here’s a thread that has revealed a new pedal set. Ya, it’s high end and PC only (I think) but interesting nonetheless. Just look at the adjustability!

Currently tracking 4 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. All winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report has been posted.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

All potential prize winners will be added to a conversation in the next few minutes.

Umm no. I even had problems letting people by on track.

Back in the day some of us used to actually try and pick combos with the goal of seeing who’s combo would stay around the longest. Crazy right?

We would actually get some friends together and race potential candidates and come up with combos that the majority of people would have fun with. Kind of a “needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one”. Spock style :)

But it is a free country to do as you wish. Some might reverse the Spock mantra and that’s fine too :)
