I tried the Mercedes C63 Coupe S and the same thing happens there (It had to be the Merc so that I can imagine myself sitting in my own car...LOL). Tried to tune a few things, but both engine and brakes overheat (summer conditions....). Tire pressures settle eventually around the 2.1 bar mark. Since I spent time doing a tune, here it is......

Yeah that's some crazy front brakes overheating man. I think yours is overheating even more than mine with it going red. Could be the nature of the particular class car and/or track.

I'd still like to know in the brake balance setting which numbers "??/??" represent front and rear though.

Does anybody know? Tick tock tick tock.....

The number on the left is percentage of brake pressure going to the front wheels

Thanks a bunch. Strange they would have the numbers that way though. I was assuming the number in front (the natural eye reading left to right) would have represented the front. Good thing that is cleared up for me.

Remember guys, these aren't race cars with racing brakes. The brakes will heat up if you are too hard on them. We will all have to adjust our driving to compensate. Tires too will be an issue if you drive like a maniac, they won't last.

Here's some vintage porn for Bear, that Lola is gorgeous.

Yeah, I hope project cars gives us that lola in the near future. In gt legends they had it. It never had the top end of the Ferrari 512 or the Porsche 917. But it had grunt out of the corners and handling!!..
Oh, never went to water valley, got sick. So I'll be there tomorrow

The Road E cars on Zhuhai.
Is it only me or does anyone else find the front brakes are overheating mighty fast? Twice times more than the rear brakes.
The rear brakes are fine remaining green but the front brakes are overheating really fast turning yellow into orange with notifications that it is overheating. And this after only a few laps.
I'm also choosing the 288 Gran Turismo Omologata, there was never any question once we got the options - I love the way it feels and it suits my style. Plus it is another of my all-time favorites, and the sexiest road car IMO. I've run some online races, and the race engineer started whining a little about the brakes - after about 7, maybe 6 laps. Funny thing is, I didn't notice any real fade, and still kept the competition at bay (coupla Lancers). One thing is to make sure all of your brakes are doing maximum work. Ideally you want the fronts to lock first, but just barely. If your rears aren't doing as much as they can your fronts are working too hard.
The settings that seem to be working well for me are 61 front/ 39 rear with brake pressure set at 79%. In the wet I am using 58F/42R and 74% pressure. And of course no ABS.
Slowbban is promising snow anyway, so I wouldn't worry about overheating.
I hope this helps.

That sounds about right GTLehman.
And thanks to Reds letting me know which which numbers represented front and rear brake balance I was able to do further adjustment which helped alleviate the front overheating issue. It would still get a bit warm but would cool after a bit so was manageable.
I was practicing on Light Cloud weather. Reds I also did an online race (Practice, Qualifying and Race) against 14 AI with "Damage On" (9-10 Laps, Light Cloud) and it was fine.

David I was going to tell you which was front and rear but had to fire up the game to check. ( I couldn't remember 100% ) when I got back, red had answered.

First day of on track stuff for me at the runoffs today in beautiful Sonoma California... The guys from back east seem to be struggling with the track, it’s a long week ahead but I think we have a pretty good shot at pulling this off...
Testing today, and qualifying starts tomorrow thru Thursday, Friday at 11:45 PST is our race!

I made a list of the available road E cars and drove them 1 by 1. (The Mercedes C63 Coupe S was sooo cool with the instrument cluster telling instantaneous torque and power!) Had to go with what gave me the best lap times combined with easy to drive. Will be interesting how everyone chooses and if they made the right choice for their driving style and expected weather conditions! Gitty up!

I thought a Camel had two humps? Ya ya....what hump. I'm thinking they're be room for one more OLD BEAR lookin guy.....lol.
Hey BC, bring that trophy back to Canada. Do you know if there are any streams of the actual race?

Just for the burning brakes and tires in the group, we'll run with a cold track in autumn.
All races will be 15 laps.
First race will be at 6:00am. with light fog.
Race two will see snow starting right around the time to pit, I suggest changing tires even though it might not have started yet. The track will not accumulate snow, so wets will be the go to tire for race two.
Race three will start with it snowing on a wet track, changing to clear around pit time again. This is where you have to make up your mind about when or if to change for slicks.
Fuel will be 15 litres as opposed to the first post where I stated 10 to start for both classes. This is far short of halfway, so adjust your fill up accordingly while pitting.

Guys, there've been too many wrecks at the race starts lately. I want to run with some damage on, but that just screws the guy who gets taken out as well, which is why we don't use it. A crash at the start is always caused by someone who is too aggressive trying to win a race at the first turn. I'm guilty of it too from time to time, but I would rather lose a spot or two then wreck somebody else. Let's be super careful tonight.

mmm... sneaky. I was going two use a dry weather car and a different wet weather car and PCars only allows you to change tires ...not cars.... darn! The night has just took an interesting twist!
Is qually going to be dry in race 2 and wet/snow in race 3?

Keep your eyes open for the spinning, yellow cavallo rampante...
As far as I can tell we can't even change tires for Group E. 'Winter' tires seem trecherous in the wet and I know Ice tires aren't any better. Track tires seem to be the best all around option.
Ride 'em cowboy...

Ok now I'm confused.

. Very cool video. Discovery channel did a 2 hr show about the full return flight from Frankfurt to SFO but this channel got more into the technical parts of the landing. Retard, retard. If you look close you can see an Air Canada A-320 trying to land on the taxiway. Modern day commercial pilots are more system managers. I imagine in a 16 hour return flight, these guys hand fly that behemoth for 30 minutes....tops. I would rather fly like GTLayman where seat of the pants flying is still relative.

Janice found this last night - it's a really cool 15 minute video of the pilots landing the big Airbus 380 at San Fransisco Intl. I'm more of a Boeing man myself (747 all the way baby), but this is great to watch.

I have so much respect for pilots. Even with the technology doing much of the work, a pilot needs a complete understanding of what all those systems are doing. Commercial pilots are responsible for more lives than physicians. I don't take that kind of responsibility lightly. Very cool video. I've been on a ton of flights, and never once did I take for granted my complete life's dependence on the competence of the pilots. Not to mention, I live about seven miles from a small commercial airport, and depending on the wind direction, planes fly DIRECTLY over our house. I'd hate to have one of those park in my back yard. Fortunately it's a small airport with a short runway - so 727s are about the largest (loudest) planes. Airforce One made a landing there during the George W. Bush campaign, and when that flew over, WOW! Big difference in noise. And then the trio of military helicopters flew over our house - that was friggin' super loud - and cool!

So I had my Sacroiliac joint steroid injection yesterday afternoon. I'm happy to report it's been somewhat helpful in my hip pain. Unfortunately, there's still other issues like pins and needles in my foot, and of course lumbar back pain, but my hip was the worst pain I'd been dealing with lately. So, this has honestly been the first and only step forward in the past six months. Plus it gives my surgeon a better idea of what he's trying to fix. Not sure if it's enough to get me back into my rig yet, but I may do a brief trial run in a couple days. I'm supposed to take it easy for another day at least. Which is why I'm just lying in bed basically writing a novel right now. It sucks being bored.

@camel: Congrats on your team winning the championship!

@gr8: Glad to hear you’ve had even some relief from your pain. Hoping you’ll get good news and healed up soon.

And here’s a game @Aero and Gr8 can join us in and not have to sit in a sim rig. These are older videos but it’ll give you the idea. I mainly play the other game modes, but the racing is fun too.

If any of you Fly Guys want to race on War Thunder, let me know. Not only does WT have combat dogfights, it has an air to battleship mode and an air to ground combat mode where AA guns, armored vehicles and tanks are fighting below and you supply CAS. In race mode you can have up to 32 racers and can choose from different classes of aircraft from biplanes to early jets and it has arcade, realistic and simulation modes. It allows for different cameras (cockpit, third person, nose/prop, etc.) and you can either do a real race where you have to fly point to point in order to win, but it also has kind of a free flight acrobatic version of the basketball game “Horse” where you do a maneuver and others have to also do it or get penalized. Fast forward this first video about 10 seconds to see the free flight racing.
