Hi fellow BOBs. Sorry I won't be able to make tomorrow Monday 22nd Jan. What happened was I had been experiencing some left shoulder issues over the last 2-4 weeks and thought it was due to over-stretching or perhaps concussion that would have healed by itself. It presented itself with some restriction in movement of the shoulder accompanied by some nominal pain during the day but once I layed down on the couch to relax or bed to sleep at night the pain would worsen. It was so bad on Friday night I couldn't sleep so by the Saturday morning I said to myself..."Self, you better go get that checked out". So after some research, off I went to an orthopaedic surgical clinic.

Turns out I was diagnosed with having what they call Calcific Tendonitis of the shoulder rotator cuff whereby some devil calcium deposits had formed. Happens with old age. Surgery was mentioned and options given. I bit the bullet and decided to take care of it right away lest I cowered out being afraid of such things as scapels and needles. Long and short the orthopaedic surgeon opted to go the route via needle insertion to break up/wash away the devil calcium deposit. Have to admit I was scared like a little child but the doctor/surgeon was pretty good. So hopefully that takes care of that.

Got to take it easy for a bit as I don't want to endanger the healing process. Left hand in sling right now and the pain killers are working famously. Had a good night's sleep amen. He said it would take about 4 weeks average to heal so gonna take this Monday off but badman will be back ASAP and you will once again have loads of fun trying to get past me with my superior racing skills 'round the corners and such. I was really looking forward to join you guys on Monday but c'est la vie.

Take it easy David and heal well. I can picture you kick'in back relaxing on that beach with a marg in your right hand, I hear Tequila has great healing properties!
I believe Camel has his surgery tomorrow to fix his left elbow, so you will both be nursing left arm's for awhile. We will miss both of you, but take the time to heal properly.

Man, that's a drag. Well these surgeries go pretty quick and simple now, Keeping my fingers crossed for you - I hope you have a couple of hot nurses, then just convince them you need some 'special attention' since you can't 'use' your favorite hand for a few weeks... nudge nudge, wink wink...
Get well soon brotha'!

Thanks bros. I usually heal very quickly somehow so keeping fingers crossed it will be the same this rounds and be back soon with my bionic implant....better than I was before. Better, stronger, faster.

The bummer is I was really looking forward to doing some practicing this weekend on getting the Crew Chief android app I got recently communicating with the game. I bought an Android tablet just for that app....first time ever buying anything else but Apple. Last weekend I wasn't able to establish WiFi communication with it for the game on PS4 but after some investigating on Wednesday-Thursday I finally was able to establish communication but was getting periodic disconnects between it and the game and was intending on further checking out this weekend to try and resolve.

Hey Aero or anyone else who has it, which of the spotters or whatever uses the swearing? Is it Jim or Geoffery or who? I have the Swearing set to "frequently" or higher but hadn't heard him swearing yet and I want to hear him swearing. I have Jim selected as the spotter.

Oh oh....David I have the same symptoms, doc said shoulder rotator and possibly pinched nerve that is giving me no feeling in my ring and little finger, and pain down my arm. It feels like I've hit my funny bone. Been a couple months now taking painkillers for daytime and painkillers plus other pills for sleep. When I get up in the night to piss, I'm pretty darn wobbly, so I'm guessing they are fairly strong pills. Perhaps I have the same as you. I think I might get a second opinion.
Get well soon.

Coming to think of it Yogi for some time now I had been getting a bit of numbness in the very left arm. Nothing too severe but still found it strange it would happen every so often and only on the arm. A bit of numbness also on the fingers but not so severe as to no feeling at all. This had been happening for well over a year or so now. Could have been symptoms coming to think of it due to the calcific tendonitis...calcium buildup progressing.

That's long to be taking painkillers for months now bro including pills for sleep....Not good at all. Better you get that properly checked out and sorted out ASAP. Don't wait. Maybe it could be the same thing I had, maybe not but worth a shot. I don't know who you went to see but a general practitioner may not be the best to diagnose. You should go see an orthopaedic specialist. They more specialise in such things. I was glad I took the initiative when I did to nip it in the bud before it was too late or worsened. My procedure was the least invasive and pretty painless. Hopefully yours will be too once you don't wait too long. Go see about it now bro. You got to get off them painkillers and sleeping tablets ASAP.

Yeah, sometimes put too much faith in the family doctor. I read up on it tho and one inconsistent was raising the arm above the head supposedly causes more pain... in my case the pain decreases greatly. My family doc said at my age it could take up to 3 months to get better, I'll be going into month 3, with slight improvement.
But still gonna get a second opinion, cant hurt.

@bear: I had the exact same issue/symptoms as you describe after I fought with a suspect a few years ago. Funnybone sensation in my elbow, pinched shoulder nerves, and my ring and pinky fingers were numb and cold and I could barely clench my fist or draw my firearm from the holster.

Find a sports chiropractor in your area, especially one used to working with contact-sport athletes and MMA fighters. The guy I was sent to worked my subscapular (nerve bundle in the armpit). It hurt like hell as he used his hand to stimulate the armpit nerve bundle, but after about 30 minutes he said he was ready to relieve the nerve pressure. When he did, it was like someone plucking a guitar string, and I about jumped off the table and hit him because it seemed like I had been shocked with a Taser. I felt “water” running down my elbow, forearm and fingers of my right hand. That “water” feeling was the no-longer-pinched nerve allowing blood to flow through my arm again. Two + months of pain disappeared in just seconds. My armpit hurt for days from where he dug around, but the pinched nerve pain went right away. Doctors and other “experts” said only surgery and pain meds would help, but 45 minutes with a sports chiropractor showed them (and me) that their pill pushing and surgery was BS. Give it a shot, hopefully it’ll work for you too.

I considered going to a sports chiropractor also but instead chose to go to an orthopaedic specialist instead all things considered. They have more equipment at their immediate disposal for X-raying, ultrasound examination etc to better diagnose and treatment IMO.

I agree with David, prescription meds suck. Addictive when taken regularly and draining on your mental health as well. Weed is the cure....at least for me. I sleep like a baby and have no pain anywhere, (except in my ass, but Aero is the cause of that), I went through about a year of bad times with my wrist, some of you might remember. My GP prescribed pain killers and a ton of physio, which I ignored. I rubbed some topical weed cream, continued to race and within two weeks all the pain was gone. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but for me, it works.
My albatross is tobacco, I have tried so many times to quit, but as a guy with really poor willpower, and a lifelong addiction to a product whose only purpose is to kill you is killing me. I wonder if they have rehab for cigarette smokers?. I don't want to get too old anyway, I don't want to be like David.

Do you smoke the weed mike?... I quit 4 yrs ago after the heart attack. I don't want to start again. I'm saving about $5500 yr. with the amount I used to smoke. Ahhhh so many choices to make...lol..
But thanks for all the input guys. I'll Mabey try all...lol. But yeah. I've only got one month of prescriptions left so it better healed up by then.

In Lobban’s own words “...and have no pain anywhere (except in my ass, but Aero is the cause of that)”...

And Aero’s reply:

Good luck 2morro camel ,I was too knackered tonight ,

It seem people are falling apart for Monday nights racing ,just think at this rate I could be a race winner

Sadly dirt rally search function is still broken ,I did another post on codemasters but last reply was from Christina 4 days ago saying they are looking into it,

My reply today ,you've had ****ing 22days to fix problem .

No I didn't use the f word ,as that was in my head when writing the reply lol

@senna: I wonder if I create an “event” and post it to HFRL DiRT Rally Community page on PSN if it will let you join it that way, bypassing the DiRT website search function. I’ll try to create and post an event and see if that’ll work for you guys until Codemasters figures out their site issue. This current event is 2000s Rally Cars in Sweden for 12 stages and is open until February 6th. Repairs between stages are allowed but there isn’t any stage or event restarts. One-and-Done.

Mark F1 was asking about flight sims. This is the extreme

You guys think our game is hard to set up?

Call that a rig? This is a rig.

How's about some virtual Blue Angels.

That Blue Angels one is really cool.
I miss a good combat flightsim. back in the 90s Red Baron 3D WWII Fighters
and EF2000 we're my favorites. Last I checked about 10 years there was nothing.

@GT: you should give War Thunder a try. WW2 aircraft can be flown in arcade, “realistic” (need to manually takeoff and land, set flaps, land to refuel and rearm, etc.), or full sim mode (where I crash 50% of the time taking off and 75% of the time attempting to “land” lol). You can use a DualShock controller but the game really came alive when I started using the HOTAS 4 joystick and TFRP rudder pedals. It also has tank battles, and naval battles are in beta right now. The joint tank/air battles are awesome and I’m sure the naval/air battles will be too. The nice thing is that it’s a free game, and it even has headtracking via the PS4 camera, but I use a “gyroscopic mouse/pointer” attached to my headset which is a lot more accurate and only cost $15. Wonder why a free game can have headtracking but PCars can’t?

We can try gutter but vied tried multiple new accounts and tried serval other options but the website is broken ,

What is a concern is its linked to our ps4 and last year on another website a third party hacked said website and used my psn id account to get Netflix, bank has since refunded but it came from a problem like dirt rally website,

It's been broken for nearly a month and don't codemasters update the website security certificate or at least check website Atleast weekly ,,anyways that's my moan of the month
But still food for thought,
Night guys

I have war thunder but don't have a flight joy stick any more ,

Mind you I spent an hour mapping button on my ps4 controller for realistic flying ,
That works fine as long as you trim everything ,,
Then if u use your laptop or PC it's unrealistic but just use your finger pad and key board and it's boring but you can shoot the planes easy, I prefer to use ps4 and map all the buttons ,it takes a while

I built a flight rig to house the controls. It’s hard in arcade mode to have a high k/d ratio going up against pc users “flying” with a mouse and keyboard. In realistic battles and especially sim mode is where PS4 and computer users are on equal terms and my kill/death ratio is higher. I just started getting into flying bombers, and if you have good fighter escorts you can dominate the battle.

Thanks, I'll have to look at it again. I played it for about an hour but only found the arcade mode (the default I reckon) and lost interest.

I have my $30 Audi and am ready to play in the desert! Not sure what else the season pass does, but I'm hoping it includes Yogi Bawsone's autograph!
I don't mind spending the $30, when I remember the days of GT5 and 6 where I'd have to race the special events to ' 'earn' virtual money to 'buy' a virtual car. Silyness...

Well that was amusing reading during this morning’s coffee, have to admit I laughed pretty good reading Slobbans comment and the replies, too much!

I have sent two emails to code masters now re their website league search and just got a we have sent message to appropriate group reply.

Bear, definitely go and see somebody else other than your GP, you are likely taking all those meds for nothing. Specialist’s are the way to go, which ever route you choose. I too, like Gutter, have had the most success with a sports physiotherapist over the years, it’s amazing how many times it has just been a pinched nerve and one or a few visits have cured the issue. After, and during, my 40 years of throwing myself off of race bikes, I can tell you with good past experience that this route has by far been the most successful for me. A chiropractor also helped at times as well.
Another successful path that my wife and I have been on for almost 30 years is homeopathic. We have an awesome Naturopath doctor and for the most part have always been able to cure anything with natural supplements. All that most drugs do today is just treat what hurts and don’t come close to getting to the root of the issue. Best not to get me started on prescription drug issue!

Haha....is this a racing thread or a geriatric complaint thread, how can you tell there are a good percentage of BOB’s here, or close to it!
I will post tracks, laps and fuel this afternoon.

Hey guys my G29 gave out I ripped it apart and checked everything I could but I was unable to fix it. After talking it over with Camel I ordered a t300 with the t3pa pedals found a deal for $360 with free shipping they will not be here by tonight so I will not be running.

On the flip side I should be in attendance. So I only have to practice one combo? The Porsche on Dubai?

Haven't played with pit stops yet so I'll see if I can figure out how to change fuel and tires...

Yup, GP, International and National.
No need to worry about tires. Tire wear is so bad on the Porsche that we we are running tire wear setting at OFF.
