You may have heard of me in a few threads here or in other places - I've created tools to view and edit the game. This mod is a result of all the research that has been made towards the game compiled into one.

This mod adds several features to the game - mainly hidden ones and trust me, there are a lot. A lot of these features were used by Polyphony Digital to help developing the game.

1. LAN Mod
This is based off the original LAN Mod made by Razerman. A couple fixes and improvements were made:
  • Chat logs now display properly when activating "Online Lounge Demo" in Secret Settings (which allows names to appear properly to others).
  • 3 new car set restrictions were added. (Could not add more, the game doesn't load them properly for some reason.)
  • The original LAN Mod broke the regular Rome track. This is fixed.
  • The original LAN Mod broke Course Maker and GT TV. These options are now accessible again.
  • More cars are available in the Arcade Section, which also appears in Recommended and people can use without owning them. Also means that you can do more specific One-Make races.
  • Shuffle now goes from 240 PP to 1000 instead of the original 300 to 500. The upper PP ranges car list was imported from GTPSP's Shuffle list.
  • Added three new car categories regulations - Tuned Car Class, Historic Cars (20 mil race cars), and Schwardzwald League B.
  • Time to finish minimum can now be changed down to 10 seconds instead of 20.
  • Now possible to use Karts and F1's without the one make restriction.

2. Added PS2 Tracks
The game has nearly all of the PS2 era tracks. 42 of them are included in this mod.
List:
  • Driving Park - Test Course (PS2)
  • Grand Valley Speedway (PS2)
  • Tokyo R246 (PS2)
  • Costa di Amalfi (PS2)
  • High Speed Ring (PS2)
  • Hong Kong (PS2)
  • Côte d'Azur
  • Twin Ring Motegi Road Course (PS2)
  • New York (PS2)
  • Nürburgring Nordschleife (PS2)
  • Chamonix (PS2)
  • Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway (PS2)
  • Opera De Paris
  • Seattle Circuit (PS2)
  • Suzuka Circuit (PS2)
  • Tsukuba Circuit (PS2)
  • Circuit de Valencia (PS2)
  • El Capitan (PS2)
  • Apricot Hill Raceway (PS2)
  • Autumn Ring (PS2)
  • Deep Forest (PS2)
  • Ice Arena (PS2)
  • Infineon Raceway (PS2)
  • Laguna Seca (PS2)
  • Fuji Speedway 2005 (PS2)
  • Swiss Alps (PS2)
  • Smokey Mountain (PS2)
  • Trial Mountain (PS2)
  • Driving Park - Beginner Course (PS2)
  • Driving Park - Motorland (PS2)
  • Seoul Central (PS2)
  • Complex String (PS2)
  • Circle60 (PS2)
  • Midfield Raceway (PS2)
  • Midfield Raceway (PS2)
  • Pikes Peak Downhill (PS1)
  • Autumn Ring Mini (PS2)
  • Grand Valley East Section (PS2)
  • Citta di Aria (PS2)
  • Grand Canyon (PS2)
  • Tahiti Maze (PS2)
  • Fuji Speedway '90 (PS2)

3. Restored Cut A-Spec Events
Note: Removed for the time being - needs some polishing.

Roughly 15 of them. Unfortunately game progress does not work for them (hardcoded).
Custom car rewards have been added for them (will require a fresh save).
<Picture Soon>

4. QA Menu
Allows you to easily edit your save ingame, unlock DLCs directly, used by testers during development.
Pressing SELECT on the main menu.
Gran_Turismo_5.png

Gran_Turismo_5_1.png

4. Any Car in Photo Travel
A bypass rather than hidden feature. You can use standard cars in Photo Travel.
Gran_Turismo_5_2.png

5. Race Editor
Used by Polyphony Digital to create game events, most notably licenses. You can use it to save events as an XML file to either the hard drive or an USB.
(Events are located at textdata/gt5 if you want to make custom events.)
Gran_Turismo_5_3.png

6. Extra Course Maker Settings
Presumably used during development to make events for the GT Tour.
You can set the track length, and type of track. Yes you can now make Point-To-Point tracks. You can also drive your current GT Mode car during testing.
Gran_Turismo_5_4.png

7. Painting Any Type of Car & Wheels
Also a bypass. Does not apply the color on all cars, rather unpredictable.
Gran_Turismo_5_5.png

8. Special Settings
Now without save editing required.
Gran_Turismo_5_6.png

9. All Cars in Dealership
Prices are balanced (aka more expensive), so the Used Car Dealership is still relevant.
Gran_Turismo_5_1.png

10. Offline Credit/XP/Presents Login Presents Reimplemented
Should balance the game a bit more.
Gran_Turismo_5.png

11. Added Scrapped Cars Entirely
Cars that were easy to re-add from older GT5 versions/builds were added to the game. (Attached image: Polyphony Digital X1)

12. Debug Camera in Photo Walk Mode (Replays)

Changelog
[1.9.0] 13/06/2023
Wow it sure has been a hot while since I modded instead of doing research/reverse-engineering/writing tools.
This is the first release of the mod that incorporates recompiled game code (arcade & main menu). It will also
expand to gtmode in the future, this is just a small update to test the waters.

Recompiled game code may cause issues - make a mention if this is the case

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to ddm for the following arcade mode improvements!
* Filters (manufacturer, drivetrain, special categories)
* All Cars tab in car selection
* Power, Torque, Weight shown are always data values instead of display values
* Standard (aka PS2) courses can be shown/hidden from course select by pressing Triangle
* Master arcade difficulty
* SELECT shows/hides filters for arcade car select

Main Menu:
* Update main menu notice & year.
* Added credits screen.
* Main menu target framerate has been raised to 60 (vanilla locked to 30 - RPCS3 users with decent enough hardware can reach this target framerate.).
* The DLC menu is now accessible offline and can be used to install paid DLCs without entitlement.
* Added cut Red Bull Charity DLC packs.
* All previously unavailable buttons (Online Lounge, GPS Replay) are now available as-is.
* The debug menu can now be used to set money to 0.
* Added prompts to certain debug menu options.
* Fixed a bug with the vanilla debug menu which would reset units.
* Fixed a bug with the vanilla debug menu where the cursor was invisible.

* Fixed an oversight where the tuning shop had options that did not function.

[1.8.1] 24/12/2021
* Updated discord invite link.
* Updated main menu year to 2022.
* Made debug camera optional. Apply the Debug Cam Addon PDIPFS AFTER the Master Mod.

<<<< Merry christmas! >>>>

[1.8.0] 25/07/2021
* Fixed many issues with PS2 tracks (invisible roads, props, etc) by forcing them to appear at all times.
Major credits to ddm for figuring it out.
Fixed tracks:
- Ice Arena
- Chamonix
- Smokey Mountain (Partial)
- Complex String
- Costa di Amalfi
- Hong Kong
* Added Sabine-Schmitz-Kurve to Nurburgring corner list.
[1.7.1] 13/05/2021

* Fix missing thumbnail for the added Nissan SKYLINE Coupe 370GT (GT Academy Version) '07.

[1.7.0] 28/04/2021
[NOTE]
This is an experimental release as it actually adds cars to the game.
Be cautious! If you want to remove the mod make sure to first remove the cars from the save.
Make a backup if needed before installing.

* Added scrapped cars:
Polyphony Digital X1 (fan) - From GT5 QA Build of Sept. 16th 2010
Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel (Old) - Model from GT5 QA Build of Sept. 16th 2010

- Ice Arena (PS2) : 12
- Grand Canyon (PS2) : 12
- Tahiti Maze (PS2) : 12

- Courses (Online?) - 50 -> 200

- Replays - 50 -> 200
- Cars - 100 -> 1000
Note: It may take a little while on the Gran Turismo 5 logo ingame after installing this mod/update. This is normal, as it updates the system.db during that time.

  • Unrelated to this mod, but fixed a possible GTToolsSharp packing related issue - might fix some weird softlock issues
  • Added three tracks, not 100% working as intended, but are playable by using reverse layout files, road surface is messed up mainly (Creds Jonny_0093)
  • Citta di Aria - Was present previously, but changed to use reverse layout files which fixes missing textures
  • Grand Canyon - Course was originally crashing with original files - Most of the road is road rather than dirt though
  • Tahiti Maze - Course was originally crashing with original files - Road is dirt, dirt is probably road
* Fixed some snow/dirt courses that allowed non-normally allowed cars to be in the track

[1.1.11] 23/11/2020 - system.db reset could be required
  • Attempted to fix the ranking menu in online mode softlocking.
  • Attempted to fix one of the Sarthe tracks not working.

  • Some events will softlock if you press the typical opponent button on them.

* Updated main menu discord invite.

* No more track swaps! Tracks are now actually added rather than swapped.
* Restored a couple more PS2 tracks.
* No more swaps means all reverse tracks are back.

[1.0.4] 29/09/2020
* Fixed RACE_EDIT's load button. First Adhoc bug fixed caused by Polyphony Digital. Technical notes below.
* - Was meant to possibly get something from the save data like last used load or save paths to display a list of local files. (main::GAME_STATUS) however some tables werent defined and caused object dereference.
* - Fixed by passing NILs to the function arguments for loadGameParameter when pressing the button, and removing further instructions that checked with save params.
* Fixed RACE_EDIT's course map. Was using an inexistant path.
* Fixed some RACE_EDIT car thumbnail paths that were using GT5P path style.
* Changed the RACE_EDIT default sample a bit to appear less broken. It also allows AI without crashing.

* Added some A-Spec dummy events just to test out template02 and 04.
* Fixed some missing stardard makers missing in dealership including PSP standards. (AC Cars is missing - this is intentional, made the debug menu crash for some reason.)
* Fixed some A-Spec events causing soft-locks.

  • Attempt fix 2: B-Spec causing softlocks.

First of all. this mod is gonna be a game changer for sure no need using garage editor for repaint the car that cant be repaint
and for me this is gonna be a best mod for GT5

about the install & download you can just make a tutorial on youtube and post all the stuff that needs to be downloaded in description on youtube
that my opinion.

overall i very salute that to this day people still modding stuff on GT5

Cheers

Looks, sounds and feels absolutely amazing! Except for the fact that the PS3 has to be modded... bummer. Oh well, hope that's easy.

I would prefer a way to disable some of the Debug options like instant completion of Events, though. However, I noticed that the Player can have more than 20 Million Credits. That's amazing, too.

Could do that, preferably I'd like to know if posting it is fine rather than going through all that stuff. I've already released it on various places.

I plan on releasing a version that doesn't have the debugging options.

Thanks a lot. I'll look forward to being able to make hundreds of Events, hopefully with no PP limits.

By the way, will Gran Turismo 6 have a similar Mod in the future? Or would that need an external PC Program to make custom Events? I'm asking this because nobody seems to have found Debug menus in that game, unlike with Gran Turismo 5.

Gran Turismo 6 will have a similar treatment. There are several debug features in there *including* menus.
Creating events for it is also much more customizable than GT5 - it is an improvement in almost every way. Most notably AI scripting directly within an XML file, for the Sierra events.

Events are XML, you can edit them with any text editor.

I've released 1.0.3. Still cannot post a link to it though, however with the appropriate changes I will release it with 1.0.4.

|> Attempt Fix: BSpec Debug feature which was causing a softlock.

Internally i've been making changes to allow me to release a version without the game breaking debug options. There will be no guide to allow modding into a PS3 in the first place to avoid discussion about piracy and such.

I plan on releasing the "light" version with 1.0.4 here.

Light version? I wonder what that means.

By the way, is the possibility of adding in a custom Announcer in the game possible, or would that demand editing scripts or code of the game itself? I had been thinking about recording myself as an Announcer for when Tracks, Cars and Events are chosen, Level Ups, Countdown and Laps Remaining, etc.

Some of these just come down to sound editing but some others aren't present by default so editing scripts would be needed (and as of now, not really possible)

Everything works wonderfully! Just need to get to grips with the race editor!

But here is a list of a couple of bits that you may already be aware of:

B-Spec soft lock with 2nd Bob. (Edit: Just got a lock when I only have one Bob. Might just be Debug B-Spec messing about?)
Maybe soft lock when finishing an entry in the custom race editor.

Ah thank you for the details, didn't think someone would list it all - i'll attempt to fix that by the next update. As for Race Edit it's pretty unstable by default, not caused by the mod.

For now, i'm releasing the "LITE" version - with all the game breaking features removed to fit here.

1.0.32
Install instructions are inside. Supports EU, US, JP: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/be1r1zcamq4a1/Lite
No instructions on how to mod your console.

No worries! I've been replaying through every GT as of late with any cut content restored where possible and 100%ing them. You honestly couldn't have timed this mod any better for me if you tried!

I expected as much, definitely not designed to be user friendly that is for sure! If you need me to find anything else just give me a shout, it's been pretty spot on for the 15 hours I've put on it the last 3 days! Thanks dude!

I should note that was in the mod at one point but was deliberately removed later on because it was causing issues with the game. Eventually, it will be put back in there if they can figure out what the issue was. As for the others, I don't know why they aren't there.

I brought this up, but from what I gather, they won't be added to the dealership. Not going to lie though, I wouldn't mind it, especially since some of them have somethings their premium counterparts do not.

Apologies, 2 more bits. 2 Events in the Professional class are bugged. The Indy Prototype race can never show as completed even if you try and force it, and the Beetle Cup will show as complete but the Event tile itself will not, causeing you to not be able to 'complete' the Professional class.

Cheers!

Hey, I'm Paiky from Discord. I'll do with this mod a 100% A-Spec run and give you as much feedback as possible. I'm looking forward to it! I will publish the run on Youtube as an "Lets play". (Unfortunately only in German.) The run begins at the beginning of november. I will of course link you and your topic in the video description

Thanks for the great work!

How hard would that be? Sounds like it wouldn't be really possible inside the game itself, unless the Event Editor includes the License Tests and Special Events?

One thing I forgot to mention is that seemingly progression is hardcoded, so completing these events doesn't seem solvable, at least yet.

Ahh, no worries! It's all still fun either way! At least the events work and are stable!

Cheers!

i'm currently working on the unused events issues we had and trying to get more of them in there that function fine... i'll be finishing up soon hopefully so nenkai can go ahead with another update that'll also include the additional cars mentioned by con360... thx for that list btw... (if you join the discord hit me up and you can be a TESTER, ideally you'd have EU)

Is there any way of enabling reflection mapping on all tracks?

The only track that has it in GT5 is SSR7.

Already on the discord! :D Will message you on there, and I am indeed using EU!

1.0.4 Changelog

[1.0.4] 29/09/2020 ** system.db backup & reset required due to fixes for the dealership **
* Reimplemented offline login presents (and increased XP/Cash ratio)
* Online: Minimum Shuffle Base changed from 300 to 240.
* Online: Maximum Shuffle base changed from 500 to 1000.
* Online: Shuffle list for higher PP ranges imported from GTPSP.
* Online: Time to finish minimum changed from 20 seconds to 10.
* Money limit increased from 20,000,000 to 2,000,000,000 (possibly only new saves).
* Added some A-Spec dummy events just to test out template02 and 04.
* Fixed some missing stardard makers missing in dealership including PSP standards. (AC Cars is missing - this is intentional, made the debug menu crash for some reason.)
* Fixed some A-Spec events causing soft-locks.

One of the best things about Shuffle was the fact it was PP & tyre compound limited. I don't think that 1,000PP would work with SH tyres...

Will Nitrous eventually be put into the game thanks to this Mod? From what I heard, Nitrous was going to be in the game, but it got dummied out.

Would need to look into it. Had a quick glance and there is leftover NOS handling code along with purchasing.
In fact that would be a whole section in the Car Settings "Shop" according to a script. Just not selectable.
