well, over at mustang man's forums, he has started a one race comp. 100 laps of complex string. we are looking for more racers to join. go here for more information

Ok decided to edit seeing as the attention this has gotten.

Fellers, I'm adding in a new rule. You MUST have a photo/screen capture or whatever you can take of once the big 100 comes up (or on the warm down lap) so that you have proof. Just keep that in mind in case there's another race.
 
youve gotta be joking...that would have to be the single best reason for going on a killing spree.
 
All you need is a second event of 100 laps of the Test Course and you'd kill every participant.
 
come on. someone join me and mustang man. :mad: at least complex string is easier than test course. i thnk it wouldn't be as boring as the test course.

CAR DETAILS/RESTRICTIONS/MODIFICATIONS
+ HP LIMIT: 600hp max
+ CAR TYPES ALLOWED: FF, FR, MR, 4WD, RR
+ CAR TYPES NOT ALLOWED: All race cars, only road cars are permitted. Also, no tuners cars such as the Skyline R Tune or S-Tune, Mine's Nismo's/EVO etc...
+ MODIFICATIONS: Any modifications allowed, so long as the HP stays below 600hp

That's just dumb. I might do it in the F094/S, or GT-One / R390 / 787B ... but nothing less than a super car.
 
really? well, that's a shame. Once i do this i will save the replay and when i get a sharkport if anyone has 7-8 hours spare, they can watch it. :lol: But, me and mustang man are serious about this. my calculations tell me about 7 hours 40 minutes with the 600bhp car.
 
You could split it into parts. 10 laps a day or every 2 or 3 dys. Could be done under 2 weeks.
 
Well i've just spent all day doing it. So it is possible...

COMPLEX STRING - 100 LAPS RESULTS
Car Used: Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo 2seater
Time Started: 9:35am
Time Finished: 5:24pm (had a break for lunch etc...)
Total Time: 7 hours, 28 minutes (don't know how many seconds there were)
Fastest Lap: 4:19.569 (only two laps out the 100 done, were below 1:20.000)
Fastest Lap Set On Lap: 49
Slowest Lap: 4:40.000 or less (which surprised me)
Car HP Before: 595hp
Car HP After: 595hp
Car Mileage Before: 1259.7 km's
Car Mileage After: 2410.1 km's (did two extra laps - Warm down and a lap to count all the cones/brake markers i had knocked over)
Oil change light came on, on lap 27 halfway round the second half circle thingy
"Replay Save Complete" notice popped up on about lap 19
Cones Knocked Over: 15 :mad:
Brake Markers Knocked Over: 4
Laps Completed:
- 100 laps = Race
- 1 lap = Warm Down
- 1 Lap = Knocked down brake marker/cone count

And thanks to not having any sort of seat, my back is now sore (not too bad though).

I wasn't actually that bad come to think of it. (the race) When i was about 3/4's though i started to lose concentration a little which resulted in a few spins, and cones being knocked over, but after that i set pretty good times.
I'd say my average lap time was about 1:25.xxx.

I set the two 4:19.xxx lap times on lap 49 (fastest one) and lap 98 or 97.

Whoever takes up this challenge, is a True Gran Turismo Driver/Fan/Crazy Nutcase in my opinion.

But remind me not to do it in a car with less that 600hp next time...
 
why in gods name would anyone actually do that??

i think id rather be raped by a large black woman named russel than actually sit down and do 100 laps on complex string....
 
I have pretty much no homework after next week so I may try it just for bordems sake, but I need a damn F1. Super Speedway enduro here I come!!

YES! I finally did it :P 100 laps of complex string!!! :eek: I have photos taken, but unfortunately i don't have a scanner :( Oh, i need someone to add all those times for me :embarrassed:

Did you cut many corners?
I'll need the settings of your car, just to make sure those times are legitimate. ;)

And the ZX it quite tail-happy too, but it is easily controlled.
 
ok i'll get the settings today :) It's weird though, that i got so good times. :confused: I didn't cut many corners either, sometimes i spun out, as you can see those are the slower times...
