Steward's Comments

Such a great online event could not go without being honored in the WRS. The inspiration for this week's theme comes from a 1980's ad campaign for one of my favorite candies. On Halloween weekend. ;)

Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:

You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'.
To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Page' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay' option.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • The green painted concrete next of the rumbles is not part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods
):

  • Lap time
  • Any information which can be used to infer laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread
:

  • T1 and T2 times
  • Any settings discussion.

The posting of settings is encouraged, but it's certainly not mandatory. We respect anyone wishing not to post settings, so please do not publicly ask someone to post their settings, they will if they want to.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 53 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    [Division#]---M'SS.XXX---GTP_Tag
    (Example-) [division 2]---1'44.678---GTP_EDK
  • you can submit only once
  • please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time
  • the deadline is Monday November 9th 11:59pm GMT
  • if you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

That should be a rainbow of B12s.;) They're a Boxer engine.

IF I have time to play this week, I'll surely do some laps :D, but that's a big IF
I'll have to buy a 2nd 512BB though, cause the one I have is black :ouch:

I just couldn't bring myself to drive the IS-F around HSR more than a few laps but this I will do.

It's all about the theme. B, V. Austraila, New Zealand. America, Canada. England, Scotland. Whatever. :P ;) :irked:

Great work as ever Kevin 👍

This will need quite some tuning and practice as the BB (successor to the better looking 365 GT4 BB) can be quite a character on the throttle

Yeah now I'm lost.

Doesn't take much ;)

Looks a bit different, I remember this car at Eiger, and it was a real PITA. Hopefully I'll get some time with her over the week.

Absolutely brilliant, this is going to be another memorable classic!! Giallo Fly baby!! Possibly the best looking and feeling car in GT5P at one of the greatest race tracks in the world

Here's what I have so far:
T1: 1'00.159 1'00.132
T2: 1'50.269 1'50.162

EDIT: Improved splits, should have been far better at the line.

All the best
Maz

Oh this will be great, a few of us have spent rather a long time racing this bad boy already, looks like I'll have to buy my 3rd 512bb just to get the right colour

This is going to be great 👍 Lets see if this combo can bring an even bigger turn out then week 51 :D

And I see Maz is already in on the game  Good looking splits 👍

<<< I have my go fast costume on and ready for this one :sly:

Same here, busy week ahead for me, but I'm gonna try to find some extra time to participate in this.

I also have a black one, so I guess I'll have to shell out for a new one :)

Did a small run and produced these splits:

T1. 1'00.434
T2. 1'50.688

Made a slight mistake out the chicane that cost me .1 to .2 at the line :ouch:

EDK, you are too much man. I love your themes and ideas. Definitely fresh considering the company.

Nice one Rudi 👍

Here are my first splits:

T1: 59.832
T2: 1'49.890

Should have had a 59.7xx T1 but screwed Degner 2 up. T2 wasn't good either - got a bit out of shape exiting the hair pin and got on the gas a bit too late exiting spoon :(

Embarassingly slow splits for me!

T1 - 1'01.948
T2 - 1'53.161

I'll help you out! Don't feel embarassed anymore, compared to my first splits, you're downright flying :)

T1: 1'02.469
T2: 1'54.368

Very div3 unworthy... :ill:

I love the concept 👍 Very original.

But anyway here are my splits. (Powered By TLD Tuning Shop 👍)
T1: 1'01.740
T2: 1'52.356

You guys don't need to worry. This is an exceptionally difficult combo, especially if you've never driven it before.

Just don't forget - Mid-Engine cars will punish you for lifting mid-turn.

My First Splits -

1:00.697
1:51.541

A little sideways coming out of spoon, probably lost a couple tenths there. Will be back at this one, for sure. ;)
