For anyone looking to replicate Sierras from BTCC, ATCC, DTM. If you find any other specs, please post.

How’s this for an example? "They tried to slow us down with the pop-off valve when we went back from 680 horsepower to about 570," explains Heaphy. "But we just sat down and said ‘well, this is the boost we have to work with’. So they (the team) individually tuned each cylinder to the point we were back to around 640 horsepower!"
Given the much greater technical complexity of the R32-based GT-R, GMS again blazed its own development path. With a hefty minimum weight of 1325kg… Having already increased the GT-R’s minimum weight by 35kg for 1991 (from 1325kg to 1360kg)… For the start of the season(1992) the GT-Rs copped an extra 40kg of ballast (now 1400kg minimum weight)…so from round five CAMS increased the Nissan’s minimum weight again - this time by a whopping 100kg

190E DTM specs


Take note, the DTM car did have an option for a six-speed gearbox.

My Dad had a five-speed '84 Mercury Merkur XR4Ti with a whopping 175hp. All red with the dual spoiler. It was so much fun to drive. Thought it was pretty fast and when I was 18 challenged my buddy with an 83 Mustang 5.0. That guy gave me five car lengths and was by me before I got out of second gear. I was a little 😳.

Still loved that car.

The closest I got to one of those was at the NY Auto Show and a drug dealer in my neighbourhood, had a then new black one. :lol:Other than that, being a passenger in a Scorpio, as my brother test drove it.

Back to the RS500. Checking JTCC specs. Seen a couple on YouTube. I’ll update the post.

The car that won the 1988 JTCC was an Eggenburger car, so the specs will no doubt be the same. 👍
 
My dad had an original 3 door Cosworth when they first came out. He had some issues with it that Ford couldn't fix so they told him to take it to a company called Mountune to get them to check the ECU. Mountune used to build the engines for some of the race and rally Cosworths. He ended up spending more than what the car cost him having it tuned and it left there with over 340bhp, a full roll cage and fire extinguisher system. I loved that car and got to drive it a few times (without him knowing) before it was stolen from outside where he worked and later found wrapped around a tree in a school field next to a very sharp bend. Unfortunately the roll cage probably saved the car thief's life. I've not played GT7 for a few months but I'll be logging in as soon as this update is released as I've wanted this car in the game since GT 1.
 
The RS500 is quite a special car. I saw one many years ago, like 20, in a rally. The car was a former circuit racer and the owner was adapting it for rallying and hillclimbing. When I saw it was converted into LHD.
I also read an article about Hahne's Wurth Sierra RS500, a former DTM car, now restored, but at a certain point it was running a 750 bhp engine for hillclimbing!
 
As for customisation and tuning, roll cages A-C can be fitted, side moulding delete, rear GT diffuser, Wingless, rear lip spoiler, Single whale tail.

This is all engine and weight reduction upgrades installed. I Don't have racing brakes fitted nor the rear diffuser. Using racing tyres will also raise the pp more.

I'll have to check when I boot it up. My cars are fitted with racing brakes/pads and RH, I believe they sit between 630-650, without any aero added. Handling is similar to the both E30s.
 
Here’s the max PP without aero. The difference between the PP are Anti-Lag On-Strong and Anti-Lag Off. I’ve set weight to the real world specs. At minimum weight, it rises to 660.54.

I've been playing around a lot lately with replicating GT4 cars, and I am finding that in order to match the lap times that the real life cars put down, you have to significantly reduce the power output of the cars in-game. By as much as 100hp.

Wow, 100hp now that's interesting. That's a huge drop.

Yeah. The P1 qualifying time at Road Atlanta for the Michelin Pilot Cup race in September was a 1:26.348. To match this time in-game the GT4 cars need to be in the 350-360hp range. (around 620pp) For the Camaro that is a 130hp reduction...

Due to the fact that in GT7 you can lower the weight to less than it was homologated to run at in period, you can get closer to the IRL power to weight ratio for the '87 RS500, which goes some way to evening things out.

Got to find some lap time data and see if there are any tracks in GT7 that they ran on in period... Has the Bathurst layout changed since 87/88? I know Brands Hatch has.

Well, The Chase was added in 1987. Bathurst was resurfaced around 2014. Being PD scanned the track around 2012. Can’t recall any surface changes between ‘87 through 2012. You can see in the video below, since that time, tyre bundles been added around the circuit.

Main peoblem is the Finish line. PD still haven’t moved it back. You’ll have to time the lap completion just after the underpass.

In any case I just started on a grid using your setups, but have opted not to do bore/stroke upgrades, as what I can find about them they still use the factory displacement.

Correct, in regards to upping engine displacement. I’ve got cars with no bore or stroke up as well. The E30 sits perfectly at 300 BHP. Meanwhile, the E30 SE gives 336 BHP sans bore & stroke up.
It’s unfortunate we don’t get much more power to tune the cars properly. As shown in the op, the GT7 cars are way below the Eggenberger and DJR power figures. We’re also limited in how much weight can be shaved. Some specs for the E30 are at 940kg. In game we can only lower to 983kg.
 
Just added the R32. Was looking to build the Gr.A JTC cars, but sidetracked with my livery to build the Australian Touring Car Championship Fred Gibson cars. Updated the OP with specs and links.
 
Currently trying to match the Alfa 155, engine swapped M3, and the Sierra for a DTM league. I am leaving the Alfa as is and trying to get the other two up to par. The AI driving is pretty atrocious with tuned-up road cars. Getting them to match AI lap times in a Gr formatted car just means more power, unfortunately.


My Sierra is a 676pp, M3 at 690pp, and Alfa at 655pp.
 
Only bad thing about tuning the 190 E is, no weight reduction under 1000kg. It's about 50-60kg over DTM specs. Just makes '91 model DTM specs(340BHP) at 346BHP(all parts excluding Bore & Stroke upgrades).
