Yes...in the golden age of the '70s, mom always drove a wagon! In America we had these giant wagons with 3 rows of seats...every family on my block had a wagon. Chrysler started the whole mini-van thing in the mid-80s, and the Ford Exploder kicked off SUVs (in America, anyways) in '92.

But plenty of thriftier soccer moms (who actually care about fuel-economy and stuff) still drive wagons...as nowadays the wagons and hatches have become more and more practical. Not everyone wants an SUV anymore, thank god.
