Hi everyone.
In GT4 2-player battle, has the HUD changed at all e.g. do we get a real tachometer this time, because in GT3, driving manual in 2-player was really hard.
Also are there any other changes to the 2-player setup etc.?

I also am anxious to find out about the 2 player mode... The digital tachometer in GT3 sucks!!! Also, when looking through you're garage in 2 player mode, can you see tuned HP or the stock power like in GT3? Finding good cars to race against was tough because tuned HP wasn't shown.
 
actually, i dont think you can use garage cars in 2 player... at least if u can, i havent seen it..

regarding the tacho.. i think so, but i'll check when i get a chance tonight to confirm...

YES! "memory card battles" are the best, not to many people call it that anymore though (i think GT1 called it that, as in "memory card battle" was actually a menu option, then they changed it to just garage cars... :crazy:

well if there is, i havent found it yet... would be easier if it was in english~~ plus noone has actually come to play 2 player with me yet.. or maybe u need 2 memory cards ???
 
that would seriously suck if they didnt.. i dont see why PD would take it out now. that would be retarded. :dunce:

Come on, if they take out that option theres no sence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm sure many of you have played the i link battle on gt3 now in this mode you can link up to six ps2's all with your own ps2's tv's etc .This lead to some great racing but only to have two(in my mind) essentials missed out.
1.Not being able to use mem card garage cars in races only can use arcade cars
2.No replays
The reason i belive mem card garage has been removed 2 player battles is proberly something to do with the online battle mode (only able to use arcade cars and no replays for online play) but then with polyphony removing the online mode i was hoping the 2 blayer battles to be back to full strength but with delay after delay the extra programming,disc space or what ever the reasons it seams that they've missed quite an important element from the game. anyway i don't own the game yet so i don't know for sure so we will have to wait to get our grubby mits on a pal copy or for a translator to play a import copy and see whats there.
 
I own the Asian(japan lang) copy. I noticed last night, that there was no "Garage" option to load your cars. Unless its an option that needs to be toggled on elsewhere, I dont see it either :/
 
that is a major minus.. that was one of my favorite things to do... 2 player tuned car battles.... thats not sugoi... tats sugay. :indiff:
 
Me either... it just doesn't make any sens... That's the whole point of the 2 player battle...

Maybe they removed it in 2pb but its still available in LAN and NETWORK tho... can anyone check that out?

Its true!

No sense in PD Hiding it to be unlocked later.
If its not there at the start, its not in. :grumpy:
 
This game oficially sucks... If I'm going to play a video game, I would much rather play against a human than a computer. No online play, big deal. No memory card battles on top of it is BS. So lets take a look at some of the things we gain in GT4... Backfires, animated pit crews.... big deal; New Cars... duh, new game; Ricey wings... 👎 ; No memory card battle... 👎 ; Digital tachometer... 👎 ; NOS!!!!.. 👎 👎 This game seems like the biggest delay of a letdown to gran turismo enthusiasts.. Why did it take so long to finish a game that does not meet the majority of what was intended by it?
 
The reason theres no tach on the outside view is PD said they wanted to make the view more opening. I think it looks better. PLus you guys make it seem like that kills the series.. You didnt mention all of the stuff we did get.... Lots of cars,.. Great tracks. Way better physics.... You only pointed out the stuff that wans't there.

I ask you: What's the point of having "lots of cars" and "great tracks" in a game which is about tuning if you can't tune the "lots of cars" and then use them in a battle with a friend with his tuned version of one of those "lots of cars" on any of those "great tracks" ??? ;)

I surely see no point in that.... :(
 
someone mentioned no replays for battles? now thats horrible. bad enough i have to read that i cant tune a car against a friends car.

seems more and more this is just a 1 player game now :(

You've got to be kidding. That was another cool feature of the 2 player battles. Anymore discoveries like this, I'll be playing GT3 as much GT4.
 
What i first though was going to be a dream game to have is slowly slipping away. no memory card battle, engine sounds not real, those two things to me
are 50% of the game. (''what is PD thinking ?'') :indiff:
