Ash Sutton wins Race 2 with one of his trademark demon drives, passing second-placed Colin Turkington in the process. A sterling run from Ollie Jackson sees his MB Motorsport Ford finishing third ahead of Tom Ingram.
In Race 3, Tom Ingram takes a historic first victory for EXCELR8 and Hyundai, with Sutton and Shedden following through to round out the podium.

UK BTCC viewers - this weekend the BTCC will be broadcast on ITV3, not ITV4 like it usually would. Otherwise it's the same broadcast as usual as far as I can tell.

An interesting BTCC qualifying session at Brands Indy, sees Dan Rowbottom take his maiden pole position, in a Team Dynamics 1-2 with Shedden 2nd (by 0.005s). Elsewhere, Turkungton had a disappointing session to finish 14th, which sees 28 cars covered by <1s.

The BTCC is back at Oulton this weekend, after its summer break, so a little recap on some news since then.
Interestingly, it looks like EXCELR8 are weighing up a possible Hyundai engine program for 2022.
Also, the vacant Cupra ride at Team HARD has been filled.

Oulton Park has already been delivering unpredictable results today with Tom Oliphant topping FP1 with a dry lap and Jack Goff doing the same in FP2 with the Team HARD Cupra. Now, Senna Proctor snatches pole for tomorrow's first race in his BTC Honda; a result I certainly didn't expect to see given his late arrival and difficult start to the season thus far. Good job, Senna!

Finally ARG have come to their senses. The Bend has been operating almost non-stop throughout the whole pandemic, bar the NSW furniture removalist incident (they had to stop at Tailem Bend didn't they
). Bad luck they're not bringing S5000... but TCR is a start. It was great to watch last time I went there so I'll be going as long as no unforeseen circumstances pop up. We've been a bit starved for motorsport down here in SA.

The BTCC returns to Thruxton this Bank Holiday weekend, and Josh Cook is already making his mark by topping FP1 ahead of Ash Sutton and BTC teammate Senna Proctor.
In FP2, Gordon Shedden tops the timesheets for Team Dynamics, continuing a Honda stronghold as the BMWs of Tom Oliphant and Adam Morgan round off the top 3.

A fascinating qualifying session at Thruxton has set up the grid nicely for race 1 tomorrow, as Rowbottom takes his second pole of the season. Mixed feelings for Shedden though, as he seemed to have on off/issue on his last fast lap to line up 14th, after potentially being on for a front row start, based on pace.

No rain to stop play at Thruxton today, as Josh Cook and Ash Sutton share top honours in the first two races. Seven wins for Cook around this circuit, and an equally impressive run to 2nd behind Sutton with 75kg on board.
Feel bad for Team Dynamics and Tom Ingram after the various issues they've had in Race 2. Tingram was in a cracking battle with Rory Butcher and Colin Turkington for 5th until he dropped to 12th with a late puncture.

Reverse grid polesitter Adam Morgan survives a late off at Club chicane to win race 3 ahead of Turkington and Senna Proctor. Three safety car periods couldn't dampen a feisty comeback drive to 5th from Tingram, either, while Josh Cook and Jake Hill put themselves firmly in the championship hunt with their fine performances this weekend.
