Let's begin the October part of the 2024 NFL season. Ready to set it off tonight will be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South clash. Find out if either the Bucs or the Dirty Birds get the win tonight (or a possible tie?).

Enjoy tonight's game!

Your final score in Atlanta on this Thursday Night Football is 36-30 in Overtime in favor of the Atlanta Falcons. The Dirty Birds of the ATL took down the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons went throwback with their uniforms and logo. I think... the 1998-ish Falcons? Anyhow, Tampa Bay and Atlanta now have the same record- 3-2.

And on a different note, happy birthday (October 3), C.J. Stroud! :)

Wow, what a finish! I don't think I've ever seen a team carry a player after their first catch of the game

Off to Spurs stadium for the Jets Vs Vikings today.

I've been looking forward to it for months. My 3rd live NFL game, after cardinals rams in 2017, and chargers titans in '18.

After leading 17-3 at the half, the Houston Texans basically fell apart in the 2nd half against the Buffalo Bills. Penalties and turnovers did over the Texans in the second half, but Texans hit a "walk-off" 59-yard field goal to sink the Buffalo Bills. Houston wins 23-20. It was a tale of two halves as the Texans had a solid first half but stumbled in the second half. Still, all sins forgiven as the Texans remain composed long enough to defeat a very good Buffalo Bills team. Nico Collins had to leave the game with an injury. Houston improves to 4-1 on the 2024 season.

UP NEXT: Road tripping! We are at the Patriots next week, then at Packers the following week.

Congratulations to all other winners this week! How did your team(s) do this week?

The Bengals are great with finding creative ways to lose. Up by 10 - twice - in the 4th quarter, Baltimore comes back and ties it. The game goes into OT. The Ravens win the coin toss and are driving, but Lamar fumbles a snap and Cincy falls on it. A miracle! Next score wins, and they're already in field goal range. But instead of trying to drive down the field to get closer to the end zone, they run it up the gut three straight times to set up the field goal - a 50 yard attempt. I don't care if the announcers keep telling us McPherson hit every shot from that distance and direction during pregame. This is no guarantee. Sure enough, the holder bobbles the snap, and the kick gets pulled to the left. Next play, King Henry, who the Bengals had managed to keep in check all game, rips off a massive run to take it to the 5. Tucker kicks the game ending field goal.

I guess that's what I get. Cincy led all game up until about the part CBS picked up the coverage after the other games had finished. So I mistakenly started to watch, and the result naturally is a loss. The trend continues. :grumpy:

Dolph Drago, I saw that Ravens at Bengals finish after Bills at Texans. I was sure you were pretty happy... until things went south in Overtime. That almost touchdown by Baltimore really hurt. I sympathize with Bengals Nation.

Some other results...

* In London, it was a 23-17 victory for the Minnesota Vikings over Blitz24's and kjb's New York Jets. Minnesota remains undefeated, now 5-0 on the season. NYJ goes to 2-3.

* How did the other NYC team do? You know, Jump Ace's New York Giants? Well, they not only shocked the Seattle Seahawks, they punked them by blocking a would-be game-tying field goal and then returning it for a touchdown. Giants come up big- 29-20 win in Seattle.

* It was 34-18 in the Mile High City as the Denver Broncos took down the Las Vegas Raiders.

* The Washington Commanders had no problem with devouring the Cleveland Browns 34-13. Not a good road trip for the Brownies.

* Omnis' Miami Dolphins picked up a 15-10 win at the New England Patriots.

* The Carolina Panthers got blown out in the Windy City, a 36-10 fail at the Chicago Bears.

* The last winless team this season, the Jacksonville Jaguars, finally entered the win column. The Jags won at home 37-34 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Dallas at Pittsburgh is still being played out after a long weather delay impacted the start of this Sunday Night Football game. At the time of this post, it's 6-3, Dallas.

Congratulations again to all other winners this week!

The dolphins patriots game was like watching paint dry. Two worst teams in the league imo. Even more than Carolina at this point lmao

The Dallas Cowboys defated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-17. Now for tonight...

Saints at Chiefs TONIGHT!

One Monday Night game coming your way tonight. Let me set this one up...

--- GAME INFORMATION ---
Can 'Dem Saints go on the road to Kansas City, Missouri and hand 'Dem Chiefs their first loss of the 2024 NFL Season?
  • NO Saints (2-2, 3rd in NFC South) at KC Chiefs (4-0, 1st in AFC West)
  • FAVORED: KC (-5.5)
  • OVER/UNDER: 42.5 pts.

Only two teams are undefeated so far this season, Minnesota and Kansas City. Minnesota improved to 5-0. Will Kansas City do the same after tonight?

Enjoy tonight's game if you'll be watching or following!

Fun fact: Dak Prescott is the first QB in NFL history to throw an interception on two different days during the same game. He was later quoted saying, "ya here we go!"

Aaron Rodgers looked old yesterday. That last int was terrible if he throws the ball towards the sideline they win the game. The offense is out of sync and it really dhows why you need to play during the preseason. Nathaniel Hackett has to be the worst OC in the league. All the talent the Jets have they look bad. I place a lot of at Rodgers feet. He doesn't need to throw 54 passes. They have 2 really good RBs in Hall & Allen what happened to them? We'll see if they make any adjustments next week.

Had a Bryce Young sighting yesterday. I was surprised he got in the game. It looks like the Panther got a one game boost from Dalton but he is back to being who he is. The problem is not Young but it is the entire team. They are lacking talent and playing Dalton doesn't help them in the long run. Play Young build him up maybe increase his trade value while improving your draft status. Carolina needs a couple of good drafts to make this a playoff team.

It's not just Hackett. Saleh is not a good coach and the team is undisciplined.

Exactly what I thought after seeing him yesterday. He just looked done and like he didn't care. There was a point late on when he threw it and it was batted up at the line of scrimmage. Rodgers had jogged to the side in the meantime and the ball came straight down into his arms and there looked to room for him to run with it, but he just let it drop to an incompletion. I was so disappointed in him the whole game.

If it hit an O-lineman, it would be illegal touching. There are too many things to go wrong for a QB to catch his own pass. The play failed, and the correct thing to do is to bat it down to make sure it's incomplete and there's no possibility for you to get 1.) Annihilated and 2.) Fumble and lead to any possibility for the defense to gain possession or penalty yards.

It was batted by a defensive lineman so he could've caught it, but looking back there were time pressures too so he probably did the right thing.

But he was still very disappointing considering his supposed star player status.

Aaron Rodgers isn't going to make a Lamar Jackson kind of play after catching his own ball. The guy is an elite brain and arm playing on 1.5 legs. Without him the Jets would be expected to go 0-16 lol.

Oh good, so the Panthers lost their best linebacker to a season ending injury last week and now their starting center has joined him on IR this week. They'll be nobody left at this rate...

...meanwhile, five games played for the Kansas City Chiefs... and Kansas City survived all five challenges so far. STILL undefeated. It was 26-13 the score in Kansas City, MO as the Chiefs improve to 5-0. There was a chance Kansas City could share the AFC's best record with the Houston Texans (4-1) if the Chiefs lost tonight. However, Kansas City stands all along with the best record in the AFC right now along with being the only other unbeaten besides the Minnesota Vikings.

and he still won the game. Steelers back to being who we thought they were all along :guilty:

Time for Week Roku. Oh, I mean Week 6 ("Roku" is Japanese for "six"). Anyhow, the tackling and play making in the NFL continues. Same great action; different week. Here are some of this week's games previewed:

* An all West Coast, NFC West Thursday Night Football game kicks off the new week, as the San Francisco 49ers will head up north to meet the Seattle Seahawks.

* London, England, UK is ready for another bout of NFL football. The Jacksonville Jaguars will try to get their 2nd win of the season when they will take on the Chicago Bears.

* The Houston Texans will be road tripping. Awaiting the Texans are the New England Patriots.

* New Orleans couldn't beat dem Chiefs on Monday Night, so the Saints will try to tame the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

* The Los Angeles Chargers will go a Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos in an AFC West match.

* The Las Vegas Raiders will go all-in and all-out at home when they host Fezzik's Pittsburgh Steelers.

* Joey D's Detroit Lions will head down to Jerry World to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

* You got to keep on keeping on. With that said, the Carolina Panthers will host the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South tussle.

* A GTPlanet inner-forum rivalry makes up the next Sunday Night Football, and it all happens in the shadow of New York City. It will be Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Bengals and Jump Ace's New York Giants ready to rumble on a Sunday Night.

* Sunday Night Football will take place in the shadow of New York City, and so will Monday Night Football this week. This time, it will be Blitz24's and kjb's New York Jets trying to extend the Buffalo Bills' losing streak to three straight losses in a critical AFC East match.

** BYE WEEK: Kansas City, Los Angeles Rams, Miami, and Minnesota

I always invite GTPlanet NFL Fans to assess their team(s) from time to time. So let me assess mine.

The 2024 Houston Texans are currently 4-1 on the 2024 NFL Season, 1st in the AFC South (and the only winning record AFC South team so far). The Texans' only blemish is that rough ride at the Minnesota Vikings. The Texans have yet to put together a convincing win this season. Even last week, the Texans had a two-touchdown lead until the Buffalo Bills eventually tied the game. Houston, though, still managed to win. The biggest fault of the Texans this season has been them collecting lots of penalty yards. CJ Stroud seemed inhuman last season; but this season, he has had quite a few interceptions and turnovers. Texans have played to some dramatic finishes except for their smashing at the Vikings. If the Texans can minimize their penalties and maybe win games by larger margins, they can really be a threat in the AFC and in the rest of the NFL. They may also have a chance to make it to the AFC Championship game finally for the first time in team history. The Texans are good, but they are not yet great. Better discipline and more solid execution will help the Texans finally become a true contender. Times in Houston are otherwise going quite well finding ways to win, even if the wins are modest. H's up, H-Town!

There is my assessment. You all are free to assess your team(s) if you like. Let's hear about the Bengals, Dolphins, Steelers, Jets, Panthers, Broncos, and your favorite team(s).

Enjoy Week 6!

The Monday night game between the Jets & Bills is going to be interesting you have 2 teams n 2 games losing streaks and both teams have looked bad the last 2 weeks. I think the Bills have looked worst since the Jets defense has played well the last two games. I think the Bills are missing Stefon Diggs. I know Josh Allen is good and can elevate decent wrs but there's nothing like having a go to guy who cna make a big play when you need it. Speaking of which the Jets have playmakers but they are not in sync with Aaron Rodgers. Think about this Garrett Wilson had better numbers last year with Zach Wilson, Josh Johnson & Tim Boyle! as his qb than with Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. Personally I don't think he is washed but I do believe he is very stubborn and not willing to change.
While I am typing this out @ 10:16 am I find out the Jets just fired Robert Saleh so we will see what happens on Monday

Wow, I initially have these thoughts: I think Saleh fell on the sword for Rogers. His play has been sub-par this season. Maybe he needs some TB12, or maybe he is just old? Or Nathaniel Hackett is really as bad as everyone says and Rogers playing is in a slump as a result?

I feel for you @kjb if I were in your shoes I'd be thinking of this meme

Saleh didn't throw 3 Ints or give up sacks. But i will say this the Jets were often undisciplined, unprepared and he didn't have any type of coherent offensive game plan. They didn't have a plan for Zach Wilson and basically threw him to the wolves. He is a good dc but as of right now he is not a good head coach. I just saw a report that Hackett thought he was going to be fired but it seems like maybe someone not sure who 🤔 talked to someone and got Saleh fired instead. The DC took over and it seems like Hackett is staying now 🤔 Very Interesting. I also see that the Jets are still going to pursue Adams 🤔. So I am starting to think the real HC of the NY Jets is Aaron Rodgers

Saleh was totally scapegoated. Wonder if he wants to come down to Miami to do some QC. Maybe take the night shift from McDaniel since VapeBruh seems to be constantly burning the candle at both ends.

Now looking back at the 'hug denial' (hug-gate?) between Rogers and Saleh, that 'someone' appears more plausable(?)
