But he's got these conservatives hypnotized. It's like nothing he says or does sinks into their heads. They just hear one thing, "Immigrants bad!!!!" and that's all they hear. He can get up there on the debate and tell the lie about Haitians eating dogs and cats and instead of saying, "well that's ridiculous, I'm not going to vote for somebody that makes up stuff like that. There's no telling what else he would make up". Conservatives hear, "Haitians? Immigrants bad!!!".

Well let's ask one shall we?

@WolfpackS2k Do you believe the stories of Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio eating the cats and dogs of the citizens there to be true even though JD Vance admitted that he created the stories and they have been debunked countless times?

"Yeah, but but Jussie Smollett..." say the MAGAs I've read online.

Two fundamental differences between the stories are:
  1. When the Smollett story was disproved Dems stopped believing the lie
  2. No schools or hospitals were closed as a result

What's even weirder is that if they were eating stray cats and dogs. Why does it matter? Cultures all over the world eat dogs and cats. Eat people's pets, I mean the only issue there is you're stealing someone's property. The actual act of eating the animal shouldn't be the issue.

"I know nothing about it", "It has nothing to do with me", & "There's bad things in it, I wish them luck".
"You've seen Tom," the former president replied. "You've seen Tom Homan. He's coming on board."
Homan has also worked for the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank behind Project 2025. He is listed as a contributor to the policy document, which proposes mass detention and deportation of undocumented or illegal immigrants in order to "regain control of the border."

This guy was Trump's former Director of ICE & has been flaunting his excitement to deport people.

Polling keeps looking worse. The number of assholes in this country is staggering.
Got a link? Noticed a couple of polling stations on Twitter that were showing a rather extreme right slant in how they polled their sample sizes.

I just watch 538's forecast.

Still showing predominantly in favor of Harris, with a 55:45 and most of the aggregated poll sources in her favor. It... probably shouldn't be that low.

Really, the only way Democrats lose is if people don't vote. I think replacing Biden with Harris made more people actually want to show up to vote, so I think that's a huge plus for them. Republicans who don't like Trump will probably just not vote because they won't vote for a Democrat. Either that, or they'll write in someone. Still, that's good new for Harris.

If Trump does win, I think the best outcome would be the Senate and House going to a Democrat majority. That would vastly limit the amount of damage Trump could do and when he commits a crime (which I'm giving the over/under at 12 hours on day 1) he'll get impeached. That leaves us with Vance, but Vance seems like more of a useful idiot than anything else. He's probably loaded up with crimes too.

Same polling system had Hillary at 70something% and Biden at 89%. Her lead in Wisconsin and Michigan has been deteriorating, and PA just flops back and forth depending on whether it's a Trump heavy sample or a Harris heavy sample.

I'd be comfortable if Harris were sitting over 70%. Instead it's dead even and she's been losing ground slightly.

Trump was a neophyte in 2016 and there were enough issues with Hillary that she could easily slip up. I think the roles are reversed here.

Well, well, well. What do we have here?

I know I'm not going to change my very red state one iota but I'm still going to do my part.
When I checked my sample ballot recently I was only interested in Ohio's gerrymandering constitutional amendment. I just checked again to find we've got six candidates for President. Stein, Trump, Duncan, Harris, Oliver, Sonski.

When I watched the Harris interview with Howard Stern on Youtube, I initially said I wasn't going to look down at the comments but my curiosity got the better of me. Lots of thank you's to Howard for doing it and how well she did, etc. One response said something along the lines of how she's the best one for the job and a reply under that asked the question, "well what makes her the best for the job?" Now I don't know if it's a real Trumper asking that or a bot but I immediately started making a list in my head.

She's not going to turn the country into a dictatorship unlike Trump. She's not going to gut personnel from federal agencies and replace them with partisan hacks unlike Trump. She's not going to eliminate the NOAA because she's not a climate change denier unlike Trump. She's not going to basically hand over Ukraine on a platter to Russia by withdrawing aid unlike Trump. She's going to fight to restore women's rights to control their own bodies unlike Trump. She's not going to cozy up to dictators unlike Trump. She's not going to push the country to embrace religious beliefs in our laws unlike Trump. She's not going to have comedians arrested for making fun of her unlike Trump, etc. etc. etc.

She was there with Howard for a little over an hour. She was calm, cool, and collected. Articulated her points and positions very well. I kept wondering, how long would Trump have been able to sit there without imploding and making an idiot out of himself AGAIN. Like he did at the National Association Of Black Journalists. I watched that again the other day and his behavior was disgusting. Of course that's the only way he knows how to behave. I guess that's why his supporters follow him.

I was surprised at how relaxed and open the interview as I only knew Stern by reputation from his shock jock days. The Harris camp chose well although I don't know how much difference it'll make even among non cultists. Batman is probably one of the few Prince records I like too ducks for cover. Electric Chair and Lemon Crush are my favourites.

Meanwhile in Motown...

"First they came for the trans people, and I did not speak out because I was too busy watching grumble flicks."

I’m not making jokes at all. My family in Orlando and Miami are safe, but what the hell is this lady on about? That’s sad.

Even sadder is the next video. That father-in-law’s family are lucky he didn’t listen to Trump during the damn COVID bleach injection crap.

I really wish all media and politicians would stop saying ex-President and President Trump. He’s just another freaking dude right now. Causing havoc with nothing to his name.

A few weeks to go. sigh

She's not Trump.
While I agree with you, they’re pretty much voting Trump just because he’s not anyone else. So simply saying he sucks the worst is enough, but it’s actually counterproductive and digs them in further.

It's interesting that these two aren't equivalent though.

Anyone besides him will do vs. Nobody but him will do

One of those positions is way more reasonable than the other. The "nobody but him will do" crowd doesn't care what dear leader does, or anyone else does, they're already dug 6 feet in.

I think that's the reason why Dems should and hopefully do concentrate their efforts on trying to convince non-cultists by being as truthful as they can. It shouldn't matter whether MAGAs are a lost cause or not if they don't make up a majority of voters in any given constituency.

Unless they game the system via gerrymandering and electoral interference which is why ensuring safeguards against these is also essential to a free and fair election.
