Steward's Comments:

Nice job everyone!

Cheers,

OLR Team.

Important notices:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all required replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Provisional" and will become "Official" once all posted replays have been verified. After 7 days, all drivers who fail to provide a requested replay will have their lap disqualified. (Beware: disqualification isn't taken lightly within the WRS.)
Drivers who do not have a submitted lap posted in the results are not to post any information related to a laptime they might have achieved in the results thread. Any such posts will have the times removed.

Replay Verification Requests:
This week we would like to see replays for all indicated results. All replays are to be posted here.

Instructions on how to upload your replay can be found here - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3180607&postcount=2

Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Congratulations to all the division winners and podium placers. As usual, some outstanding times there, stunning in fact.

Laps deserving of additional focus...

Dan - not sure what's more impressive, your lap time or your handicap. Outstsanding
Jack - nice D2 win with a D1 lap time!
Matt (Millross) - nice way to get a podium mate, you smoked the second half of the lap 👍
D3 podium - great work guys to all be running D2 lap times.

Will try and be back in the hunt in week 28

For the record, my lap was...

T1: 23.399 :D
T2: 28.986 :)
T3: 31.334 :ouch: 🤬 :banghead:
T4: 20.797 :)

Great job everyone who submitted 👍

Dan... :scared: What was your T3?

Excel told me I could do a 1'43.605 on my best splits   Maybe the most deceptive and frustrating combo we've had thus far...

[Lies down with paper bag over head]

Congrats to all podium placers and division winners 👍

Didn't think I had done enough for a podium, but there's always next time :)

Judging by my final splits there was more time out there for me, but T1 :ouch::banghead:

Nice times by some of the D2 guy's, congrats to millross on getting that podium.

Spud, with those splits, did you fall asleep in T3  Nice time anyway 👍

Congratz to all podium finishers  and actually to everyone who managed to survive all the wall collisions and great laps thrown out due to dirty turn 1 lines!

Amazing lap from Dan, not unexpected of course, but still eye opening... 0.7xxx handicap is just sick, sick, sick.

D3 was full of great competition as usual. Congratz to Hydro, for doing the honorable thing and throwing out a "borderline" lap and still coming back to win the gold. 👍 Poolhaas definitely set a high mark for T1 & T2 early in the week for D3 and that definitely helped "up the ante" right away. Took me quite a few hours just to get close to his trail blazing T1/T2 splits.

I broke my run of silvers, but unfortunately in the wrong direction. Turn 3 was definitely my downfall. I just could never put that one together and sure I left at least a tenth in that one turn. Anxious to analyze replays of that section to see how I can improve for the future. I could only manage 58 mph and I'm sure some of you did 61 mph through that critical section. If I could have put that together I could have given Hydro a better run for the top spot in D3.

On the other hand, I am actually very surprised I moved up the leader board with my T3/T4. I thought for sure I left at least 2 tenths on the table in T3, but I guess it wasn't the disaster I expected. Just goes to show how little I know about these runs.

It'll be interesting if a bunch of you post T3 and T4 splits individually so we can do some analysis. Unfortunately I am away from my PS3 (and my notes) so don't have those splits with me, but will post later in the week. For the same reason I won't be able to review any replays until Thursday, but at that time I'll review any outstanding NTSC replays. I was hoping for, but not expecting, a podium so did think to save my replay on my laptop... attached for review. Whoever reviews my replay could also post the T3/T4 splits if anyone is collecting that data... or I'll post on Thursday.

Thanks again to the admins for another great combo. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next week.

PS> I expect a "fresh" Gravitron to return with a fury next week which should be a scary site for the other D3 drivers :scared:

Congrats to podium winners! I had a rough time with this one so I can respect the effort put forth. Well done! 👍

Good to see some more names up in D4 this week. It was getting lonely the last couple weeks with just 2 or 3 of us.

Now, I don't want to be a bother, but if anyone NTSC has some time to spare, my replay from last week still has not been verified. If someone could flag me in some way I'd appreciate it. :D

Back on track, well done again to everyone who got the Pug around the mountain. I'm looking forward to viewing some video on this one for sure!

There is something wrong with the Results section of the Leaderboards. I cancelled my submission earlier this week and, because of that, I don't appear in this thread, but I still appear in the results?

Sorry for the noob question but how do you work out the handicap and what is the equation at the bottom (weight, squeeze and scoot.)?
Enjoyed my proper return to the WRS, still didn't have as much time on it as I would have liked so can't complain too much about my placing.
Hoping to give week 28 a good going over tonight after I get around to viewing/varifying a couple of replays.
Well done to everyone who took part.

...how do you work out the handicap?

It's caluclated from your initial qualifying performance, and then each week your performance relative to the other competitors. It's impossibel to calculate yourself without all the parameters, but the important bit is...

29--1'45.749---GTP_jimantonic r=4.243 (d4/0.202)

...where 0.202 was your performance relative to your handicap this week. It's a positive number, so like me, you performed worse than your handicap, which is...

4.243 - 0.202 = 4.041

If you had gone better than your handicap, and by an equal amount, it would have read...

29--1'45.749---GTP_jimantonic r=3.839 (d3/-0.202), since

3.839 - (-0.202) = 4.041

Hope that makes sense. I explained it better than that a few weeks agao, but couldn't find the post quickly :)

...what is the equation at the bottom (weight, squeeze and scoot.)?

Only Vaxen knows

Well done to everyone who got through this one.
Almost caught me up at the last there Plato, I must have fell asleep too, lucky.:)

T1: 23.269
T2: 28.761
T3: 30.762
T4: 20.724
I think these are right.

& here is my PAL replay.

Wow is all I can say.

Tricky little car to drive and sometimes it just goes way faster for no real good reason depending on your entry your exits can be wildly different every corner.

I just feel really lucky to have won D2 right now. I feared it could have went the other way and alot of D2s and D3s would end up lower than me.:)

Nice driving GTP_DHolland and GTP_Hydro and GTP_MilleRSVR.

This was a great combo to be a DS3 driver thats for sure when I see how we all faired this TT.👍

@Ralliart - your T4 is 20.7xx - if it's 30 then you either broke down or nodded off at the wheel :)

I ran 30.97x T3 and 20.71x T4 off the top of my head. Only T3 of the week when I dipped under 31 seconds and I think that is what got me on the podium. 23rd on splits to 9th in the results? That's awesome!

Sorry Joao, Peter, Ash for crudely barging in front of you guys - I'm sure you've done it to me in the past though ;)

Madmax - felt sure I might be able to beat you for once this week, but it seems you ran T3 as well as I did, so...bah!

Replay will come later.

Congrats to all the winners - particularly Jack because if you used your pad then that's a great lap time. D3 podium also looks very cramped and incredibly fast - I can see some promotions coming if you guys keep that stuff up....

Hey, top effort to all podium places:tup: A handy T2-Finish proved the difference this week, I altered my B.B to 2/8 during the final session, which made the double right entering the tunnel a much easier task.

Congrats all, looks like I really missed the fun (or the head-banging).

Meeting Tim was great 👍 and I hope my drool  wasn't too obvious when you were describing your driving rig. Nice time this week, BTW, as well as T13R and Hydro and Kristof.

Replay;)

Complete splits:

T1 23.179
T2 28.775
T3 30.647

Well done Holland, nice lap. I will try to give you a challenge this week.

Congratulations to all division podium finishers.

Hey, top effort to all podium places:tup: A handy T3 of 30.645 proved the difference this week, I altered my B.B to 2/8 during the final session, which made the double right entering the tunnel a much easier task.
Regular youtube video below, in 3 different angles;)

Thats funny I was running 3 10 and smoking the second corner but struggling thru T3 so I to tried 2 8 and ran the fastest I ever did thru T3 with it. So fast in fact that after that I couldnt beat my lap again even with better splits to T2. about 3 tenths faster than my previous best.

I wanted to do a 3 10 BB then switch down the long straight to 2 8 but the switch back to 3 10 again just was to hard. In the future Ill get more comfortable switching on the fly im sure. Right now I just stop if I want to change it. lol

Thanks Millross...yes I used the DS3, my wheel was real slow thru T3 and T4.

Here is my shockingly slow attempt.

hmm, so all three of us, Madbeater, 5Zigen and me performed exactly according to our handicap and still managed to take the last three slots in the handicapped Results? OK, I admit it, I don't get it...

It looks like the handicap for all 4 of the new drivers hasn't been calculated correctly. Seismica has the same problem. Something for Joost to look at.

Looks like I had a good second half to the lap. My full splits were

T1: 23.605
T2: 29.283
T3: 31.276
T4: 20.758

I'll post my replay tonight.

All the best,

Congrats to all the Div. winners and podium finishers.👍

NINE_HUNDRED I thought you had me this week with your great T1 & T2 times.👍 I managed to nip you somewhere in the second part of the track.:scared:

Well done to all the winners and podium finishers. 👍

I thought my time might have just been enough to sneak a division podium but it wasn't quite enough. I knew a 1'44.0xx was needed for a division win and I should have been able to achieve it but that never happened.:dopey:

here is my PAL replay Guy's

Please let me know if it's the right one, been a while since I have done this and forgotten how to do it :dunce:

I have not got time to check my splits to post T4 time, but it must have been pretty good.

@ Ralliart

My T4 must have been pretty fast because if I remember correctly, I only had a high 30.8 in T3, missed out on the podium when I had been running 30.7s through there.

Great job on getting on the podium, there's always next time 👍

These were my split times

T1 23.397
T2 28.765
T3 30.881
T4 20.506

I think that's right, trying to memorize my T2 time. I know T1 and T3 are right. Please correct if wrong whoever views the replay

Once again a insane time from Dan  and just watching your video it looks so simple!

T2: 29.022
T3: 31.054
T4: 20.770 (:yuck:)

Heres my NTSC replay.

Its clean and shouldnt be to difficult to verify. No extremly close calls anywhere I dont think at all.

Edit: Thanks Usual Suspect Im very surprised myself I got the win. I really thought I would be lucky to hang with my division. You wouldnt believe it if i told you how much time I left in the track if I added my best sectors together. I really doubted I could win D2 and I also thought many D3 guys probably beat me to the line not just many D2 guys.

Replay uploaded, although I am pleased with a 2nd place, it's still slightly frustrating to see where I made some mistakes which could of cost me 1st place! Insane run to the line Holland, and congrats to all podium finishers for their division (Go Jack on the DS3!)

Bring on week 28, which looks interesting to say the least.

EDIT - I was running 5/5 BB, forgot about changing it..... :/

Alot of [001] and [007] replays and that replay of Spud_Skills which was named too early in the zipping prossess.
By random luck I got the replay to work by renaming it BCES00569-RPL003 .

Madmax - felt sure I might be able to beat you for once this week, but it seems you ran T3 as well as I did, so...bah!

I believe you ran T3 and T4 faster than me , but I had that .1 over you at T2.

My splits were: 23.415/29.024/30.983/20.767

here's my replay: [026]

Amazing how there is only about half a tenth between 2nd and myself overall

Thanks for checking the replay Madmax, at least one of my sectors were fast (T4);)
