Welcome to the second official race in the "xxx laps of 'inserttracknamehere'"!

The 100 laps of Complex String is still going to continue and does not have an ending date planned. (neither will this one)
It is quite surprising that so many people have completed or are planning to complete that mammoth race as i never expected it to be this popular! A very big congratulations to all those who have lasted the full 100 laps.
:)

For all those who have done the race or just want to try this one then you'll be pleased to know that this one won't be easy.
Mainly because of the fact that there are no run-off areas and you have to do double the laps of the the 100CS!

Here are a few simple rules and guidelines which need to be looked over.

RULES/GUIDELINES
[+] No wall-riding. If in doubt of somones times then post your concerns in this topic.
[+] No playing on the Ferris Wheel unattended. (after that little incident last year...)
[+] Keep your lights on normal, anyone purposely putting them on high beam to distract other compeditors will be disqualified immediately.
[+] TCS and ASM is banned from useage - good measure of driving ability with them turned off.
[+] Once again Nitrous Oxide is not allowed. The weight of the bottles slows your car down anyway...
[+] Don't stop for traffic lights, stop signs etc...
[+] No hybrids! That's cheating! Cheating is bad!

[+] Any questions, complaints etc just PM me or Dodge the Viper.

Boo hiss! No TS020... :D Good to see that you've ditched the two other roadcars-from-racecars too. Possibly the Tommy kaira ZZII shouldn't be allowed, as it's not actually classed as a road car in the game - it's eligible for the Formula GT Cup...

That said, GT3 classes the Toyota Altezza LM Race Car as a road car (not eligible for the Formula GT Cup)...

637.67 miles, by the way (1025.98 km).

I kept the ZZII in as it's classed as a sports/super car in real-life. But if the majority vote is to remove it from the eligibility list then i will do so. :)

1025.98 km's ay? Somehow i thought it would be a lot higher than that. But then again it is about half the length of Complex String. Oh well. Thank you. :)

If someone could add up the total time estimate then maybe using 1:55.000 lap times would be an accurate guess of the average/slower laps?

I ran a search at the 'Times for any cars, sub-600hp on SSR11. I got the quickest eligible car as:

294 bobkart Honda 1992 NSX Type R 522hp MT MR 10/20/02 10:33 PM Logitech GT Force 1:49.265

I'll add 5% for errors to make a nice average of 1'54.728 (so not a bad guess then :D).

Total time looking at being: 7hr 10'13.800s

(and that would be an average of 89.02 mph)

225 laps, 1:55.00 per lap = 7h 11min 15sec (i think) someone might want to double check that

Snap! ;)

Thank you guys. :) Once again that is a lot less than i thought it would be. (i was thinking like nine hours or something)

I'll either run this one with the Zonda C12s or the tried and trusty Speed 6

I dont think that the ZZII should be allowed, or the Altezza LM that Famine referred to, but definately count me in 👍

Honda ... S2000. Type V so I can get it in purple. Ha ha, I'll be serious tomorrow when I actually figure out what to do.

A thought for future long ass races. If you keep them 99 or fewer laps it would be possible to set up a 2 player battle or i.Link and have an actual race.

I might try this one with a Viper on the weekend. A nice red viper with shiny silver stripes;)

Welcome to
gtp.gif
mate 👍

Youve picked a good race to enter!

With the 2 cars I mentioned earlier, I managed to run them both inside of .6 of each other so the desicion is by no means final as yet

Was well inside the 1:54 mark being touted earlier though;)

I see you guys are picking cars. I'd like to re-mention this post. bobkart is an exceptional driver - he chose the NSX for under 600 HP on this course and got an outstanding time.

Choose your car wisely.

Yeah, Thanks. I gave the Viper I run for its money this morning after not having played the game for over 2 months. I ras a bit rusty at first but with a bit of a slide around one of the earlier corners I got 1'54 no trouble.

The car had 598hp after my tuning, with a few km's it now has 600, I really hope it doesn't go over that mark after a bit more practise tonight.

I find the car to be a little bit twitchy around some corners with late braking but with concentration I should be able to get some good times. I am annoyed that I cannot change the downforce in this car (I usually race racing cars) as it needs alot more downforce on the back.

I tried out a whole lot of cars last night and as i'm not the best of drivers...

These laps are so slow mainly because i only did one quick lap (entered the SSR11 race in Beginners GT World Championship) with each car and then watched the replay to get the top speed down the straight.

The laps (especially the S2000, and EVO's laps) were not totally clean so i reckon i can get the S2000 to do a bit better.

Will try out more cars later. (including a NSX if i have one)

Im glad the ZZII is no longer going to be there, as you've shown Mustang-Man it's just too fast

Indeed. I'll get the proper times etc when i get home but it was at least five seconds faster than any other car.

I had a play around with the Viper this afternnon after I got home, and I cut my time down to 1'52.7xx. The Vieper seems to be a good car and gets 278 down the main straight, but I'm an early braker after that straight.
It's a bit of a heavy car and when you make a mistake you pay for it. I'm just using it becuase I think it would be good to see how consistant I can be with a heavy American beast.
My school is holding a swimming carnival tomorrow and since I don't particularly like swimming I will take the day off and spend it doing this 7 hour race.
So hopefully I will be the first person to complete this goddamn race. But with my car I suspect I will one of the slower total times and best lap times.
So if I don't make any ffurther comments tonight, I'll see you on the other side!:odd:

Eeep, my car slipped over to 605hp, oh well i didn't save so it will start the race on 600hp :D... Also my new best lap is now 1'51.9xx

Tested some more cars today (in bold). Still only a one lap time so they could be quicker.

Once again none of these cars are tuned to race (i.e. i haven't tried to make them handle better around certain tracks as i have no clue how to do that - i'm only good at 1/4 mile tuning) Some of them have a few basic mods and only about five or six cars are fully modified. (EVO VII, S2000 etc...)

again, I'll commit to doing this race as well as the CS race

I havent got a clue what car to run then in - I do like the NSX the S2000 and the supra in race trim so I might give them a bash.

I need to wait for a rally on the weekly series so I can devote a whole day to these enduros !! Its madness !!

I am currently on lap 118 and I have it paused untill I get back from school tomorrow. I'm only justm over 1/2 way through and it is HELL. But I will finish it eventually.

Good luck with it Blake !

I want to do the thing as a whole race at once - Id obviously have breaks in between but not for more than 5 mins or so.

Actually thats a good point, I know it cant be enforced so theres probably no point in having a rule like it but dont racers have to complete the race in one sitting and not overnight/day ???

looks like blake will be the first to do it

not endurance racers they dont, they have other drivers taking over

Shame if somebody turned the PS2 off or the power went out.

You are right, I suppose they do. So a big break is OK if we are copying Le Mans style enduro races.
