  • Grip Reduction on Track Edge: Optional

Race Specifics:


  • The car used for this race is from the "Arcade Only" Section. Do Not use a car from the "Favorites" Section.
  • The event MUST be run using your GTP_Tag Account
  • The use of the clutch that is found on the G25, G27, and other high end racing wheels is strictly prohibited.
  • No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.
  • All surfaces are track.



Steward's Comments:
No tuning again this week, and the lap is quick. This car is very heavy, and the S1 tires keep grip at a premium. Be sure and brake on time and use weight transfer to set the car up for the next corner. This is a little tricky, but very fun.

Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:



  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:



  • At least two tires in contact with track at all times.
    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.



  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind,these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done,and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 80 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):





  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-) Time: 0'49.100
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the body of "remove entry".
  • If multiple times are submitted, only the last submission will be counted.
  • Please include in your submission PM your final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday, August 27th, 2012 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site




Why Use GMT?:

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:




  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

I don't think I'd have to patience to take it any further around Suzuka.
 
Ooh, I'll give this a whirl too. Week 80! Blimey....77 weeks ago I began this stuff!

Alfa's are cool, this ones a bit fat, is it 4wd? Tenner says the week 79 folk struggle with this initially :D

Come on, don't come right out firing against the combo in the first 3 posts.

There are a lot of people who will have never driven this, and you should let them form their own opinions.

We have a short list of arcade cars on GT5, and most of them are going to end up being used at some point. Be glad that I didn't leave it on the default Comfort Soft tires, and also be glad that I didn't put you on a city track.

There's something to be learned in terms of car control and anticipation/setup with this combo, give it a try and you'll see what I mean.
 
:lol: Fiver says I can't get it round the first bend without going off in my first ten attempts.

Nice switch up after huge downforce and 200mph Kev. I'll hopefully have some splits up in the next coupla hours.

I think you may be running the wrong course, you should be on Suzuka East short course, I think it's the very last track on the World Circuit list (To the far right).

My Alfa is broken I think - it doesn't respond to steering, throttle or brake inputs, just carries on in whatever direction its pointing. :P

Heavy car indeed! The first two right turns are tricky. I think, in order to take the turns correctly, I'll have to learn how to apply the breaks at the entry.

Yes, all hard surfaces are track, just be cautious of the first part of that turn, as it's possible to have 3 off without penalty.

first go and my sector times are:

T1: 22.618
T2: 18.828

Interesting combo and left at least a tenth behind in the first sector on my fastest lap, should be a fun week :)
 
I've spent about half an hour here tonight working at this.

I think I've come up with some decent splits.

I'm starting to like this combo...for a vehicle as heavy as this, I'm surprised that it's actually pretty responsive.

I love these short/fast track and car combos. I can sit and rattle off dozens of laps in a short session...which I will get to later. :D

Can I use the NFS Carbon version of this car? That one didn't seem to care about weight or power or....physics in general. :lol:
