Steward's Comments:

Nice job everyone!

Cheers,

OLR Team.

Important notices:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all required replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Provisional" and will become "Official" once all posted replays have been verified. After 7 days, all drivers who fail to provide a requested replay will have their lap disqualified. (Beware: disqualification isn't taken lightly within the WRS.)
Drivers who do not have a submitted lap posted in the results are not to post any information related to a laptime they might have achieved in the results thread. Any such posts will have the times removed.

Replay Verification Requests:
This week we would like to see replays for all indicated results. All replays are to be posted here.

Instructions on how to upload your replay can be found here - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3180607&postcount=2

Replay Checking:

 1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
 2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
 3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
 4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Quite an exercise in control this week. Unfortunately most of the time I could afford this week went into setting up the car and installing GT5 PAL so I can watch the Euro replays. Bring 'em on guys, looking forward to seeing how you managed some of those amazing times.

Nice job everyone. D2 is really getting tough, I beat my handicap and still finished fourth, just like at Monza.

Nice job toaster, getting a win in your first week.

Great job everyone. How do you say it? WooHoo..beat my handicap.
Congrats Toaster on your first win in your first race. Should he just be promoted into Div1 and get it over with or what?

I spent a lot of time on this one but towards the end it seemed like I was just bouncing off the walls. It got to where I couldn't even match my worst times through the sectors. Tried everyones setups and in the end had to go with my own. It wasn't very different from Chris's but was a little bit more stable for me. Probably why I was so slow. Sure but steady will get you to the finish line, but most of the time not the first one there.

Really enjoyed it though. The car was a hoot to drive but I think my night blindness was a real handicap (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)!:sly:

Congrats to all podium finishers, and can't wait to see the replays so I'll know where I was going wrong in T2.

My replay is here.

Congratulations to all the podium finishers, especially toaster on first tt and taking the division 2 win and argon for a great lap. And Matt rounding off the d2 podium.

Also twissy and Chris for blistering times as ever. And jtv for the d3 win.

Didn't spend as much time as usual on this tt, but was great fun after taking a bit of a break. wanted to get another session in but ran out of time.

See you in the next tuning week, cheers

Louis

Congrats folks! Pretty happy to get on the podium. Shame we lost 1/3 of the field, but never mind...

Will post replay later, looking forward to seeing some of the quicker laps.

Congrats James - no great surprise there. 👍 Very happy with my handicap for this one though. :)
Also twissy and Chris for blistering times as ever.
That's my tyres blistering this week Lou. :P
Congrats also to Jon for a great D3 win. 👍

Nice last minute dash again Matt. 👍 I agree about the number of poeple who didn't submit... are you all aware that your handicap now won't suffer because of over-par submissions? Anyway... well done everyone who did survive - this was a much trickier combo than first appeared.

Surprising times from Argon and toaster. 👍

Here's my uncharacteristically scruffy lap (I usually spend another 3 hours making it look good :sly:)

Ran wide in the tunnel, missed the apex of turn 4, smoked the tyres up in the hairpin in sector 2... Sector 3 was good though. :)

YouTube Link:
Watched your "scruffy" lap Chris, although I was unable to spot the scruffiness, looked pretty good to me.

Also, still not sure where I lost so much time, my lines and speeds were very close throughout the lap. The only place I could see that you were obviously faster was t3. Oh well, maybe I'll chase toaster's ghost for a bit and see if I can learn more that way.

Congratulations to all winners and podium finishers.

Here´s my PAL replay.

Wasn´t really my combo and only to several rounds, much more than normal, i managed a very small minus handicap. Anyway, thanks for providing us with these TT´s. :)

Tried everyones setups and in the end had to go with my own. It wasn't very different from Chris's but was a little bit more stable for me.

I basically used Chris' setup but with 4/6 BB and eventually chassis reinforcement as suggested by others. I wound up further tweaking it with 2 clicks higher on LSD accel and -0.05 rear toe so I could pin the throttle earlier leaving turn 4. The chassis reinforcement was a mixed bag but contributed to being able to really lean on it throughout the final turn.

Will post my replay after getting home this evening.

Forgot to get my time submitted this week because I was dumb, but congrats to everyone this week! It was a fun run if a bit frustrating trying to push my limits. I'll make sure to grab some NTSC replays this week.

As a side question, is there a quick way I can calculate how I did vs my handicap this week? I have no idea how all these statistical formulas work. :dunce:

Sure. Find out where in the Overall Results your time would have landed you. Then look at the r= values for the guys just ahead of you and just behind you. Estimate what your r= value would be. (ie if the guy ahead had r=4.000 and the guy behind had r=4.500, and your time was about halfway between them, then you would be r=4.250, roughly). Then compare that estimated r= value to your current handicap published over in the Official Registry thread (the 2nd number listed next to your name, the 1st number is your original handicap, from the Qualifer). If the estimated r= value is less than your current handicap, then you would have beat it. :)

It was a really clean and tidy lap but I think you suffered in sector one because of the wrong gear choice through the tunnel and then were maybe a bit too safe around the rest of the track. With this track you have to take every last centimetre from every corner and be really brave.

Both replays were clean and correct

PAL replay attached.

Sector 1 has the only close call, but this is another easy verify as far as I can tell. I perhaps could have used an extra foot here or there to get on the power earlier, but it's difficult here.

This lap had the potential to be a 1'36.6 but the hairpin was blown and I had to wait ages to accelerate. I didn't get sector 2 right all week though, so this is fitting. Fortunately for me, this is a PB in 1 and a "known" PB in 3, though I probably went slightly quicker on pants laps that I didn't look at.

Enjoyable week and as usual, a mighty challenge to even take 3rd in the division.

Congrats to all those who had a blast in the dark ;)

Clean and correct, nice lap Matt 👍

Amazing watching the video looked like daylight compared to my setup. I had no idea half the things you could see were there. And that's with gamma set to +1 :-(

Congrats to everyone! Twissy, I must say your lap was quite a bit tidier than mine. Explains why I couldn't match your pace.

Here is my replay. Let me know if it wasn't uploaded properly. This is my first time doing so.

Thanks for checking Argon. 👍

Problems of gearing is, that i use automatically shifting.

Ah, that would explain it 👍 Have you tried manual shifting? You'll get a lot more control over the car if you do and will shave a good few tenths of your lap times.

It was still a nice clean lap though so well done

There are two file systems at work here, NTSC for the Americas and PAL for the rest of the world. Since you don't reveal your file type in your sig or your location in your avatar it's difficult to know what kind you have (we can't check the kind we don't have ;))
I think it's best to write it in your replay title (like Zippy_the_cat/CargoRat or WhiskeyEcho96 ) or at least state it when you post 👍

In case somebody doesn't express their region, you can always see what type of replay it is by downloading it and reading the file.

NTSC replays are called BCUS

PAL replays are called BCES

Sorry about that. I wondered what NTSC and PAL meant in everyone's signature...:)

Anyways, I have the NTSC file type and have updated my signature as well.
