How many iconic car names are there in GT6? An awful lot, but I would hate to see the iconic cars that are currently standard to leave the series. Just to name a few-
Lancia Delta S4
BMW M3 E46
Toyota Supra SZ-R
Dodge Charger 440
Plymouth Superbird
If there's anymore iconic vehicles that you want to see in the next GT, please say it here

Standard cars are going to be in GT7 so there is no need to worry. Also, you forgot one of the most iconic cars for the series in the Chaparral 2J.
Kaz's words can not be taken as gospel to begin with, and his response to the standard car question was vague at best. He said, "we're keeping the archive", meaning they are keeping the data, doesn't meant they'll all make it to the game.

Ahem. You forgot RZ.

Why the Supra SZ-R (221bhp) instead of the RZ (276bhp)?

Well if I was to choose which iconic cars would stay ( what about some older iconic cars reappearing ? )they would definately be Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak , Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak (I think cultus has never reappeared since GT2 but it SHOULD be back in my opinion ) , Mazda 787B , Panoz Esperante GT1 ,Toyota GT-ONE and the Group B rally cars ( Audi quattro S4 , Ford RS200 , Lancia Stratos HF ,Lancia Delta S4 , Peugeot 205 s16 evo2 and the Renault 5 :P ). If it was a "normal" car that I would like to return it would definately be the Nissan 180/200/240 sx S13 or the AE86 Trueno sprinter GTS...

Supra RZ
Honda jazz 1.4dsi
Supra RZ
Mercedes-Benz 190E Evolution 2.5 16V
Supra RZ
Lexus is200
Supra RZ
Supra RZ
Skyline R33 Rwd
Supra RZ
SL65 AMG
Supra RZ
Mini '98
Supra RZ

E Type Jaguar and Mini are the two most iconic standard cars in my opinion so deserve to stay and be upgraded to premium status for GT7.

There are many others which are not motoring icons, but still deserve to stay such as the Gillet Vertigo and Le Mans Prototypes.

If I had to choose 100 cars, then I would:
MX-5's (duplicates would be excluded, converted to premium)
Silvia's (same above)
Skyline's
NSX's
3000 GT (GTO's which are duplicates would be excluded except the Twinturbo MR, and SR)
RX-7's
E-Type Jaguar
Gillet Vertigo
Formula GT
Lotus Elise 190
Opel Speedster
Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak
All rally cars need to stay but must be converted to premium

It is so hard too choose!!! :ouch: I would want all standard cars to stay... I don't want them gone :(

Toyota Supra
Nissan Skyline
Subaru WRX Sti
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
Honda NSX
Honda Civic
Mazda MX 5

No need to have 5, 6 versions of the same model. 3 maybe 4 is sufficient. Same for racing version as well. I got so pissed when I noticed in GT6 that there are bunch of cars with same looks and performance specs, just different with the names :grumpy:

What about #36 Castrol TOM'S Supra that won the 1997 JGTC. It's iconic in racing and the Gran Turismo series especially. Its been in every game and has been given as a main prize car multiple times. I can't see it ever being taken out of the series and remains what I think is the most iconic car in the game.

Could not agree more, but the TOM's Supra is already premium so it will stay. GT7 should not include any standard cars, it would be a huge mistake. They shouldn't waste time 'improving' them either, its just like polishing a... well you know. GT3 is the best rated GT game, possibly the most fondly remembered and also had one of the smallest car lists, ~180 or so. PD really needs to embrace quality over quantity, and stop trying to have 1500 cars or whatever in order to have a big number on the back of the box, when it includes PS2 era models and ludicrous duplicates. Give me the 500 or so premium cars fully detailed, and a steady trickle of iconic standards (2J, RZ, AE86 etc) given the full premium treatment. Combine this with all tracks fully modeled with weather/day-night cycles and you would have the makings for an awesome, consistently high quality next- gen GT experience, despite having less content overall.

PD is still a relatively small studio from what I understand, why they go chasing the biggest car list at the expense of consistent quality is beyond me.

In my opinion, the following cars that should be replaced by a new car are:
Honda Civic Type-R'98 (We already have an '97 version which is premium)
Honda Civic SiR [EG]'91 ('92, '93 and '95 are duplicates)
Alpine A110 1600S'73 (We already have an '72 version which is premium)
Daihatsu Sirion X4'00 (Because it is an duplicated version of Storia X4)
Honda Integra Type-R DC2'99 (One thing is that '95 which has an different spec but '98 and '99 versions have the same power, so the '99 version should be replaced while that '98 should stay)
Honda NSX'93 ('90 has the same power/weight as '93)
Honda NSX'99 ('97 has the same power/Weight as '99)
Honda NSX Type S Zero'99 (Same reason as normal NSX)
Honda NSX Type S'99 (Same reason as normal NSX)
Honda Prelude Type S'96 (The Type S started in production in 1997. Moreover, it has the same power as Type S'98. So, the '98 should stay while the '96 should be gone)
Honda S2000'99/'01 (The '99 and '01 versions have the same power as '00 version. Therefore, the '00 version should stay while the '99/'01 versions should be gone. And another thing: The EU and US versions should not be gone because the US has an different front light.)
Honda S2000 Type V'01 (Same as the normal S2000 but the '01 should be gone while the '00 version should stay.)

Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car
Lancia STRATOS Rally Car
Chaparral 2D and 2J
Alfa Romeo 155 TI DTM
Opel Calibra DTM
Gillet Vertigo
Formula Gran Turismo (upgrade it in premium if it's possible)
...and a lot more.

Standard cars that I want to stay (only as premiums), quoted to keep the thread easy to scroll.

The Civics and the Alpine does have a slight PP difference, while the newer NSX models have more colors compared to older ones.

You can see this on the EG: (I also included the color list, bold are added colors to that model year, italics are exclusive to that year model)

1991: 379 PP, 7 colors (Frost White, Carnival Yellow, Milano Red, Captivate Blue Pearl, Pewter Gray Metallic, Flint Black Metallic)
1992: 380 PP, 5 colors (Captivate Blue Pearl, Milano Red, Frost White, Lausanne Green Pearl, Granada Black Pearl)
1993: 381 PP, 4 colors (Milano Red, Tahitian Green Pearl, Captivate Blue Pearl, Granada Black Pearl)
1995: 383 PP, 6 colors (Tahitian Green Pearl, Granada Black Pearl, Vogue Silver Metallic, Frost White, Milano Red, Captivate Blue Pearl)

Also, I'm sure the handling of different model year cars are slightly different. ;)

Thanks for your information, Tank. But I think that the people which don't like the duplicates on GT6 will have to understand some time... 👍

Pretty sure that's already a premium car, and most likely to be in GT7 alongside the other 450+ Premium cars
