"Meh, could be worse"

GT Sport has a livery editor! Yes, that's something I wanted from GT for a while and it looks great so far!

Also, I love the fictional GT3 cars Polyphony thought up such as that Alfa 4C Group 3 race car, that looks awesome! It all reminds me of the LM race cars from the early GT titles.

Ok, I'll praise the game for one of the best things they got right out of all the "GT6.5ness"
 
Well, the livery editor is a good news, the scape photo mode also nice ( possibilities are endless ). The photomode pictures released looks great on my laptop LCD, but when I copy them to PS3 and watch it on my plasma, I was blown away, totally transform the cars/background ,the Ferrari, the AMG GT, the M4 looks so lifelike and the lighting really shine. At a glance, looks like real picture from promo shots or brochures.

Then I tried to watch the trailer, looks great as well, the cars definitely pop out with the lighting and contrast.

Will have to see the next time GTS goes public ( E3 and 24H nurb ? ), see if they improved ( damage, sound, physics ), as it has been said the have daily build going event at the London event.

The Scape mode is the one of the only thing that really justifies buying the game for me right now, it's truly an amazing piece of programming.

Unfortunately the Nurb 24h is too close of a date for them to produce any substantial changes.

I'm thinking the London event have specific options in the build, Kaz may have intentionally disabled damage ( visual and mechanical ? ), the physics may be WIP and the sounds more likely are still being worked on. I just hope PD don't go all for cinema sound ( exaggerated dynamic from engine/exhaust ), what I want to see is realistic sound, if the car is not loud, don't make it loud ( stock R33/34 GTR, EVO X, NISMO 370Z aren't race car loud, when inside is dampened ). It it's race car, make it sound like race cars, all it needs is good fidelity + details.

@Jordan : Any chance you could shed some light on how the sounds are in general compared to GT6 ? Better clarity, less digital ?
 
I haven't been in GTPlanet forums since 2011( I have moved to rfactor2), but this new gt intrigues me a lot! Let's hope it has a much better physics and sound than the previous GT's titles !
 
Game looks excellent, good step forward abd looking forward to more info being released. Have put my preorder through for the collectors edition.

So pumped for the new photo mode additions, including some NZ landscapes. New Tokyo track looks exciting, and the tracks have had a visual upgrade. Cars sound better, spectator mode looks good.

Looking forward to seeing more about the esports side of things, how rankings and competutions will work.
 
I'm also hyped for the driver rating system and FIA licence ( this is one of the best reveal IMO, no other games on console currently have these ). Anyone have any details on the safety rating, driver level and FIA licence will work ? @Jordan ? :P
 
I'm glad this thread exists! I left the GTP forums years ago because it was so depressingly negative.

•I love the scapes! 1000 locales? As long as there isnt an uncanny valley between car and background this is amazing. Would have been awesome for those GT5 community magazines we made
•Love the livery editor. In a game that could get meta heavy at its peak (if youre trying to win the FIA irl championship youre going to use the best car possible), the fact that everyone can have unique cars is awesome
•I just am excited to get back into GT again. Maybe ill edit this space later. Im just so excited to have that feeling again of driving around the nurburgring at night. Im excited to spend way too much time taking pictures of cars. And im excited to race you all again :)
 
As in previous announcements, the sarcastic part of me wonders which feature won’t make it into the game, do to some legal reason.

The scapes were/are brilliant and to have so many of them is really a coup for PD and this game. It will probably sell a lot of units. I'm not much of a photographer but I can see people really getting into it.

I mentioned it elsewhere: if you look at how much a good DSLR plus a lens or two costs, plus the price of travel and getting cars to take part, GTSport (plus a PS4) is almost a bargain. I feel like the Scape shots would fool the vast majority of non-players you showed them too. :lol:
 
I want to start by saying "can I get a helloooo", this game looks fantastic. I've loved GT since the day GT1 came out, played the hell out of each game and absolutely loved it when GT4 finally came with a photo mode.. So many pictures were taken!
And now, the scapes? Amazing! Sucks that we most likely can't move freely around though, but nevertheless - it looks so good. Proper car porn right there.
And yay, finally we get that livery editor we wanted. I don't care how simple it is, just give us a few shapes and a decent amount of stickers and I'm good. That one-make Miata cup will now be really interesting. Finally a Miata with good looks(I don't like the older Miatas) and with a livery editor it will look even better. Not racing against the same car with another color anymore. Now we race against personalized cars and team racing will be much cooler now!

To sum up:

I really can't wait until GT Sport is released. I'm going to have so much fun with this game. Making liveries. Taking photos. Racing. Wow, PD, I love your game.

I wish my dad was alive to see this.

He's probably already pre-ordered it at the GameStop up in Heaven. :)
 
Europe is getting a bangin' collectors edition that comes with a model Merc and a lovely box.

I am the happiest man in the world. :D

Meanwhile, my 1:43 GT-R from the GT5 CE sits, lonely. My keychain has also all but lost the GT logo, but then again, I've been using it every day since release...
