Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Wow, first D1 Gold standard time! Well done to everyone who achieved their personal goals and well done to @mcsqueegy for that insane time! I was expecting winner to have 1:46.4!

Oh cool, negative handicap  well done to all who gave this a go, bit of a slow week but I gave plenty of laps!

Warning to whomever sees my replay, it's very close on the exit of Ascari :scared: but it checks out 👍

Same here, I'm insanely close at Ascari but never managed to even get close after trying to avoid it lol. I'm positive it's clean though. 👍

Congrats to the winners and podiums 👍

I have a quick question? ... Who decides the par time in the results list for every week? on one week it's slightly faster than the overall winner and other weeks it's a few tenth slower than the overall winner and on the weeks where it's slower than the winning lap they end up with a negative handicap? baffles me this method and curious how these par time examples seem to favor racers who take part occasionally versus most weeks? Being in D1 gold I like to try and move up on the ranking on the registry page and getting a negative par result is like looking for the holy grail and I like to try and be competitive but flogging a dead horse sort of springs to mind :D Is it fetchy or some dude that makes the par times up?

I found this a good week to ask based on the last few weeks results... no offence to anyone concerned 👍

Congrats again to all the winners and all who hit their goal on this event

They are not made up, it's a formula that @Vaxen built that supports the overall division cutoffs, along with the weekly results. It moves around a bit over time, based on the actual results that racers are submitting. It's not perfect, but it is a bit better than one of us just looking over results and making instinctual calls.

I know that doesn't answer your question 100%, but if you were uninterested in flogging dead horses, you probably would not be here submitting laps with us anymore. ;)

Thanks for the reply Kev 👍 No I was just curious how it happens... I will continue racing and submitting when the event appeals to me and I feel like flogging a dead horse ;) 👍

I know Monza's tricky with track limits, but you guys really should be checking these laps more thoroughly because of that!

Damn, I must have cut it too close at Ascari.

Urgggghhhhh, and this weeks :dunce: is me
You're right there @mcsqueegy , pathetic contribution from myself :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Luckily plenty of proper laps for me to study how it should be done.
@Dragonwhisky , div 1 time and nice negative handicap, easy mate 👍

Good job guys 👍

I suspect the reason my time edged into D1 is the fact there just weren't very many from any division doing this TT. Reckon that SRT just weren't some folks cup o' tea.

You delivered the lap time, it just plain scared me every time I approached a braking zone 👍

Happily for you it doesn't work like that - it's based on an AI lap time as far as I'm aware unless that's GTPSCS, so the division splits are fixed.

It's fully dynamic, based on who is competing (division placement of participants) and their submitted times.

Ostie d’crisse de tabarnak.
Sorry folks.
Off to Monaco; where the chances of clipping a wall are much slimmer than Monza!

I tried like hell @mcsqueegy to gig you on that exit of Ascari. You were certainly right. All, if you want to see an example of how to use every bit of track you're allowed, download his replay and have a gander. I couldn't get the replay to stop right at the curb threshold but what I did see indicates;

By the proverbial 🤬 hair.

No, the word under the censor bar doesn't start with a c. I'm crude and crass but not quite that crass.

It's fully dynamic, based on who is competing (division placement of participants) and their submitted times.

As Kevin states, the program that compiles the results does it's best to do a "curve fit" of all the submitted times, trying to find par times that are closest to the tracked handicaps of everyone who submitted this week. The program will do a better job of it with more submissions, just like polls with large numbers of participants have a smaller "margin of error".

For any given week, some will do better than their handicap would suggest (and earn a negative handicap for the event), and some will do worse. As Ron suggests, in D1, there isn't a lot of headroom between what you "should" be able to do and the perfect lap, so earning a negative handicap is quite a challenge.

Here's my lap:

Lost about a tenth and a half in the first two chicanes. The Lesmos were ok but Ascari was perfect! 👍

I don't think I could have managed some of those braking points. What Downforce were you using?

Don't forget replays show a slightly later braking point :) I think for that time I was using 100/70 downforce and brakes of either 7/6 or 6/5.

Here's my lap:

Perfectly flirtin' with the devil :mischievous:. I probably spent 20 minutes trying to get the replay paused at just the right point so I could get evidence that it was crystal or not.

Hi,
Handicapped Results:

1---1'47.081---(-0.86541)---Deux_Milles

Woohoo

If I understand GTP-WRS-Maths correct this will bring me with the first TT after the initial three from D3Bronze to D3Silver :D

greetz,
a happy D.
