Hello end welcome!
Here we are going to compare both games,graphics/physics/photo mode, everything you can think of.
Let's the battle begin :D

Can't compare the two games until GTSport is released. Going off beta builds from people driving at exhibitions on wheels they don't own at home is no basis for comparison.
Obviously it doesn't represent the final game, but experiences can still constitute physics discussion.

Go for it. If you think a few minutes or a race or two, in a loud room with unfamiliar equipment, often driving unfamiliar cars on unfamiliar tracks gives you enough information to compare to a game one might have dozens or hundreds of hours on in their home environment and gone over multiples scenarios and combinations with a fine tooth comb, with in depth knowledge of the physics engine provided by other players and the developers themselves, by all means, have at it.

GTS has a livery editor. Does AC have a livery editor (PS4 version)? If not does it have paintable cars and changeable race numbers? If cars aren't paintable are the classics available in a wide variety of schemes. I've seen a bit of Project Cars and that has 8 colour schemes for the Ford Escort RS1600.

My hobby is hosting classic championships. So far, based on cars announced to date GTS doesn't look suitable for me. AC has some interesting cars e.g. Maserati 250F six cylinder F1 car, but this will only be suitable for hosted online championships if multiple colour schemes / liveries / changeable race numbers are available.

I haven't got a PS4 yet and all impressions so far of GTS have been under whelming. I presume it is going to come down to a choice between Project Cars and Asetto Corsa for us classic race fans?

No livery editor but there is premade liveries.

Most race cars come with numerous liveries. 20+ is the normal IIRC. The two new Ferrari F1 cars are an exception of course. There is no livery editor on console or a way to import them either as far as I know. GTS has the livery editor but we have no idea how comprehensive it is at this point.

Hopefully the premade liveries include a wide and realistic range for any cars included in the game. The 250F was sold to many privateer teams so appeared in numerous national racing colours from the yellow of Belgium to the British Racing Green of England and also with racing stripes or with coloured noses to represent countries.

Personally, I see this discussion as "Game that has been out for a while now vs. game that we know damned little of, and which is undergoing continuous changes and improvements every day before release." It's not fair to GTS to start comparing it to other games before we've even seen much of it, much less actually played it.

I have to agree since it will accomplish nothing really. This will be a fun thread after GT Sport's release, that's for sure.

GTS will be a better in all areas except sound. But both will be great games. Probably AC will be better with a wheel, hopefully it will good with a controller too. I do not think AC is having dynamic TOD, weather ? Racing games do not sell good these days but I hope AC hits half a million on consoles. According to this it sold 0.3million on PC: http://steamspy.com/app/244210

I am more interested how it does in comparison to Pcars

eidt: one thing I like about AC are the hand animations in cockpit

I seriously doubt GTS will be better in any areas over AC.
My money is on GTS following GT5 & GT6 and being a HUGE disappointment for GT fans.
I hope I'm wrong, but I reckon I'm right.

GTS will have better presentation, visuals, and a physics good enough for everyone to enjoy. The only way I see GTS will end up being huge disappointment is, if the game is broken, unplayable, glitchy, have low framerate, and unable to access online. Which I highly doubt.

GTS isn't even out yet.

I think you're jumping the gun, here.
I would add that AC isn't out yet either.
Assuming we are comparing apples (PS4) with apples. ;)

Therefore I haven't played either game. (nor has anyone else) :)
But I'll have a stab as to what I anticipate.

GTsport will have better graphics, replays, photo-mode, online gaming, and bigger car and track list.
AC will have better sounds, physics, and more advanced/in-depth tuning options.

Offline modes I'm undecided, but I'm leaning towards AC.
Livery editor the same, but I'm leaning towards GTsport.

Edit.
Might just add a couple more things.
I think GT will have slicker game menus, but I think AC will trump it for HUD options.
For wheel support, I'm leaning towards GT.

Practice, Qualifying and Race is game, set and match to AC.

As for a bigger car list. Real vs VGT equals AC again.

No livery editor means GT wins one.

Good luck with that. I hope I'm wrong and GTS is strong out of the box but I'm not confident in Polyphony anymore.
The last great game they released was GT3.

Practise, qualifying, race - offline or online?

I don't know the full car list for GT.
Do you?
Let alone update additions.

AC, referring to the time it was released on PC and to what we can (hopefully) expect on PS4, has been around for a while.
I see no reason to compare that time frame against a day one release game, and call it either way.
In fact, I think GT will out-do AC, hence my earlier call.

Edit.
Oh, and of course graphics, be it race, replay, or photo-mode, in a video game means nothing to no-one, right?
Livery editor isn't the only 'one'.

Based on what we know so far, please share with us which aspects of the GT physics engine will be superior to the AC physics engine. While you're at it, explain how the offline career mode in GT will be superior to the AC career mode.

Offline. Practice, Qualifying and Race. The end. If GTS can do that - and no GT has ever done that, it will be good.

As for graphics, replay etc, couldn't care less in my case. Others will differ of course.

As for car list. AC's is known, GTS a lot are known a lot are not. Doesn't matter to me. VTG equals go get stuffed PD to me. Again others will like them. I don't.

I couldn't care less if you couldn't care less.
I'm comparing games as to how I see it.
While also considering others opinions, besides my own.

Offline, I've already called it for AC.
I don't see how it makes it 'game, set, match' though.
Online is a completely different matter.
And these days, 'online' is where it's at.
Sales alone will make GT online far stronger than AC.
Then combine private lobbies plus Sport mode, both with 'practise, qualy, race', online GT is easily 'game, set, match'.

I'll own them both.
But if I find more fun playing AC online against GT online, I'll eat my hat.
