Since we now got 8 standards (Toyota Mk 4 Supra, MR2, Honda NSX-R, Jguar E-Type, Porsche 911, Honda Beat, Honda NSX-R Subaru 22B, and Nissan R92CP) that received the "super premium" treatment in GT sport, what other standard cars do you guys think would realistically return to GT Sport in the future? (This is NOT a wishlist guys)
I Predict:
  • Daihatsu Midget Midget II D type '98
  • Dodge Charger 440 R/T '70
  • Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91
  • Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX (AE86) '83
  • Volkswagen Beetle 1100 Standard (Type-11) '49
  • Chaparral 2J Race Car '70
  • Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) '99
  • Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 RC `86 #1
  • MINI COOPER 1.3i '98

It's kind of weird that they have a whole museum section for MINI, but the only car available is a VGT. So I definitely think they'll add some new-MINI and a classic Mini.

I think it's also reasonable to expect a Honda Prelude of some sort to round out the OG Japanese models that were prominent in the early GTs.

And maybe five more Skylines.

  • Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91

These are most likely to show up sooner rather than later. Old(er) race cars are currently scarce (quattro pikes peak) but could happen.

Toyota TS020 for sure, and maybe the R390. The 787B can't be missing for too long. I know it's extremely unlikely, and a bit off topic, but I would LOVE for them to add the 1999 JGTC cars. I would never cry about missing content after that.

I notice you have some cars that also have premium variants. I can see cars like the Cuda and Fiat 500F returning but only the premium versions. So instead of the (Standard) '71 440 Cuda, we would get the (Premium) '70 AAR 340 Cuda and in place of the '65 (Standard) 500F, the '68 (Premium) 500F would return. It would make more sense for PD to do that because it would take way less time to make premium versions into super premiums rather than redoing standards that are taking virtually the same car but you never know, it's PD.

Thanks for pointing that out. I must admit that I've only checked the list of standard cars on KudosPrime, but I didn't pay attention to the premium models! As you said, It'd make more sense to upgrade them.

I thought there was already a thread for this...?
Anyhow, my list:
'85 Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86)
'70 Dodge Charger 440
'92 Mercedes Benz 190 E 2.5 Evolution II
'92 Jaguar XJ220
'70 Plymouth Superbird
'64 Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO
'93 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti
'95 Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22B
'02 Daihatsu Midget
'93 Honda Beat
'91 Honda Civic (EG)
'99 Mercedes CLK-LM
'89 Nissan R89C

My bets on returning standard cars...

BMW M3 CSL '04
Honda Civic SiR-II (EG6) '95
Jaguar XJ220 '92
Mazda 110S (L10B) '68
Mazdaspeed Atenza '05 / Mazda 6 MPS '05
Nissan Sileighty '98
Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (AE86) '83 or (AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version) '00

There's like several other cars I have in my ever growing wishlist of cars that I want to go from Standard to Super Premium but they're most likely just wishful thinking since they're either tuner cars, pre-2010 race cars or concept cars...

7-months-later edit: Removed the NA Miata from there, there's already two premium versions of 'em already in GT6.

HI, based on the last update i think that GT300 cars should re-join to the list:

Toyota Wedssport Celica '03
Superautobacs Apex mr-s '00
Arta Garaiya '03.

And the most beautiful mazda IMO - Mazda Furai - Standard in gt6 "shame PD, shame".

But the Furai no longer exists, how can PD record the sound and make the interior in the same level of detail as the other cars in GTS?
Same way they do with Isuzu 4200R Concept, with design documents, models, and stuff.

All Lancer evolution

and this masterpiece

You're only going to see the most popular stuff get the premium treatment in this game in my opinion. Supra was a gimmie, FD RX7 etc. Highly doubt you will see anything as plain as a 98 1.3l mini cooper get it.

However i would like to see more race cars get the premium treatment since that's what they're saying this GT is all about.

I don't feel the Challenger was popular in GT at all. A Mini Cooper has a much bigger real life pedigree than a Challenger.

Well, i guess that depends on where you live.
Not where you live. Worldwide. I'm from New York, been living in Australia for 10 years. Challenger raced in Trans Am, but Mini has raced in rally, Trans Am, BTCC. Started the FF small car movement and is a cult car. No doubt hemi is known worldwide, but it didn't start a movement like the Mini has. Sure "Mopar or no car" and all that, but to place Mini as something that isn't popular enough to make GT's list. I don't agree.
