I have a 64x system and Im having problems updating my CSR wheel from Fanatec. The wheel is going into bootloader mode but its having problems finding the driver..The directions are very "weird" from the firmware.

I have used google to find this version but cant..thanx

I had to resort to putting 32bit XP on a backup hdd because I just could not get the firmware to work on my 64bit W7; it worked perfectly the first time I tried with XP.

I am not very computer literate, I wish I was as I would not mind using 706 again. The 737 firmware was easy to install as everything was more up to date with the new installer and there were less steps to follow and therefore easier not to get confused with.

If only this firmware didn't destroy the wheel though, (regular CSR) it is terrible since 737 has been released and nothing has been done to fix the SPR/FFB issues. What gets my back up is knowing that when the CSR E had issues there was a fix within days for it and another update not long after (721b) :grumpy:

Surely I am not the only person with a regular CSR that feels like this, I have hardly touched my wheel since this new firmware was released as GT5 seems un-drivable with this :(

The regular CSR and all of the previous Porsche wheels seem to have been forgotten about and are taking a back seat because of all the hype for the CSW.

I know Thomas has said there is an update coming soon for most wheels which is mainly for LED support, nothing has been mentioned about fixing the terrible issue the CSR seems to have though

I'm not going to put the new firmware on my CSR because of all the complaints about it. The only real problem I have with the wheel now is it disconnects from the 360 sporadically; so, I don't feel the need to go through all the hassle to change the firmware anyway.

I will say though, if you're that unhappy with the new firmware, you can change it back to 706.

Well I do have an old laptop that has 32 still on it but I thought there would be a 64 version out there......

Or you could do as I did and use XP compatibility setting.(right click exe) XP-mode is also an possibility if you have that installed.

Thanx for the help

PM me your e-mail......I have 706 with the 64bit version of the current bootloader for newer versions of Windows.....I'll send it to you.

Thanx again...worked great the first time I tried..Easy instructions..The wheel seems "tighter" now even after I put in my original settings......
