A serious concern.

After playing for about 2 hours now, I am very worried about the probability of PD/Sony introducing Paid For DLC. I am pretty sure, given the mobile gaming style approach to the way players progress, that we will find the initial car DLC packs offered as 'free because you can grind to earn them' and 'or you could just pay money to buy the pack'.

IMO, the whole game is designed around the same micro transaction stuff that Forza is doing, we just haven't heard any announcements yet.

Hope I'm wrong.

There's a button that allows to pay for miles point but it does not work yet.

So... we surely have microtransactions.

Kaz said there won't be micro-transactions (but, can we trust him :-D ?). The button to pay with "miles points" works, I bought the Corvette Road Car with them.

I saw a button "buy miles point" not "buy USING miles point". Unfortunatly I don't remember in wich menu.

I am hoping that things like cars etc. will be released as free DLC and then the stuff they try and entice you in to pay real money for is the Mileage Points stuff, like wheels, spoilers, race suits etc.

I hope they don't introduce the cars that way, as that would suck bigtime...

Didn't see such button, but maybe it exists. Could you find it? Maybe we can "buy mileages" with with the ingame crédits?

The same was true of GT6 when you could buy money from the PSN store, but you never really needed too, it was just another option.

While I don't think the game will have micro-transactions ala-Forza, I'm pretty sure that we'll be getting both track and car DLC packs.

The only DLCs I paid were for The Witcher 3, because they were reaaaally valuable, and not like bs DLCs in other games... So, if they want me to buy DLC it has to contain a lot of tracks, cars, modes, etc. I won't pay 10€ for a 5 car pack like in other games...

I called it months ago that I was sure GT:S would have microtransactions in one form or another.

When the servers eventually work no doubt that is when PD will rear the ugly head of milking the cashcow, Mi is sure to be the way for PD to make the extra cash that they would inevitable lose in sales from having quite such a barebones title.

Didnt they say GTS will have no microtransactions.

I don't get why we needed two different currencies, like Cr. and MP. Until now, Credits seem almost useless, as there are a myriad of gift cars, almost meaning that you won't have to buy any car ever from the dealership. Mileage points seem to be more useful right now.

Kaz has said lots of things in his time, Most of which haven't been strictly true, Lets face up to some facts here, PD have done microtransactions before, Pretty sure there is going to be a way to buy Mi soon/if not already in which case it is milking the cashcow, Give it time.

It actually goes the other way once you're done career mode.

I've got a ton of MP right now and nothing to spend it on (unless I want duplicates of the two cars, which I don't). Meanwhile, when I hit 100%, I went on a huge spending spree, since the only gift cars I have in my future are from daily workouts.

I've got 82 of them, which covers most of what I want (for painting purposes), but I'm missing a handful still. Since CR payouts are one-time-only in campaign, it's going to be a long while until I can buy any Gr.4/3/1 cars.

Not that I'm too concerned about that — I'm fine with waiting — but it's worth pointing out. 👍

That is an interesting thing though, having two currencies (cr and mp) does seem to point to some sort of microtransaction system down the road since almost all the games I have with those microtransactions/loot boxes have a two currency system (where one currency is harder to get than the other). They might release the DLC as available to purchase in game with huge amounts of one of the currency but you can 'speed up' the access to it by buying a pack of credits or milage points. Wouldn't be too shocked if that happened.

I don't know. All of the gift cars I received so far are going straight down the toilet. All the Mileage points are also going straight down to the toilet as well. The selection of items to buy with the Mileage points are useless to me. There's about 5 wheels and not very good looking wheels. I was hoping they would have a huge selection of wheels to buy.

There are lots of cars I want in the game but costing about 1,000,000 each. Right now, I am trying to grind as much as I can to get all the credits I need to get all of my million dollar cars. It may take me about 10 years to grind for credits.

I will check later but i am sure I got more credits (Prize Money Cr)when I did arcade or Custom races and came in the top 3. This is how I plan to buy more cars, when not playing Sport mode. :)

I would bet my lucky hat this game will have MT's. I reckon we'll see the announcement within a month.
As long as your hat isn't stinky I'll throw up my lucky Callaway golf cap and take that bet, so long as we agree on what an MT is and isn't.

Lol. I'm thinking there will be both MT and paid DLC. The MT will be the ability to purchase different helmets, outfits etc.

Driveclub’s DLC packs were fantastic and great value too, like others have said, if it’s quality I don’t mind paying
