I think they might go with O'ahu like the first two games, or perhaps they might keep with somewhere in or related to France because of the pandemic.

Looks like we are getting a "head to head" trailer tomorrow, I'd be surprised if it was actual gameplay footage, probably going to be 30 seconds long and only show luxury cars.

Well that was kinda lame, to be honest
I mean, nice video, but doesn't really tell anything
And it is just CGI

Next "chapter" in July, might be that they are going to drip feed this for a while, announcing the different features of the game in stages. This time the casino, next time they might mention ?player houses?

What I understood was that the game is coming out July 2021... but definitely weird wording on that

It's the date for the next piece of info and trailer. Nacon confirmed it in the chat. So, now we wait for July's Nacon Connect.

Kind of underwhelming wasn't it?

I'm glad my expectations were 0 to begin with as I wouldn't of expected anything less. Absolutely dreadful that was IMO. Anyone else get the feeling of how much this game screams MTX and a service based, always online model?

Fully CGI trailers are almost as bad as inaccurate marketing speak.

Just for reference, and so nobody thinks what I entirely reasonably thought, here's the press release (and yes, this is the entire thing):

Lesquin, 21 April 2021 – NACON and KT Racing studio are proud to release a new cinematic trailer for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown with the DNA of the series on display: immersion in a richly-detailed world combined with a passion for extraordinary cars.

Following the official announcement of the project during Nacon Connect 2020, which generated enormous enthusiasm amongst players, the game is back in force with this first of many chapters…

Dream cars, customisation, avatars, competition, open world, casino and style, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will remain faithful to the franchise while adding a wide range of new touches! More information will be available in July 2021.

That trailer was a lot of nothing just to say, "More info in a couple months"....
I don't know, it could be hinting at at something huge, like we might be able to customise our characters fingernails :dunce:.

Very underwhelming trailer, I was hoping for a bit of gameplay.

The second any gameplay screenshots come out I'll be able to confirm if this is true or not. Lived there for seven years, I got y'all!

Next more news in July :boggled:

Well, right now The Crew 2 is the old TDU without some essential things from the original 2006 and 2010 game.

I don't mind that trailer, cinematic trailers are fairly standard nowadays even if it would have been nice to see some in-game footage. I'm curious what the gameplay will be like compared to the previous games. I will say though that this approach of the game being the "first of many chapters" combined with calling the July 2021 info drop a "chapter" is piss poor marketing.

Youtube recommended me the trailer earlier, so I checked it out, but man... :indiff:

Half of it was all about gambling. I sincerely hope that gambling is NOT a part of the gameplay. Like, you can only win some cars through winning X amount in Blackjack or something. That would massively suck and it'd also not go down well with the relevant authorities around the world.

Yeah, I didn't even have plans to get this, but I feel like including straight-up gambling is a good way to potentially get your game banned in a few nations. It'll be like Need for Speed Payback all over again, but at least that game was savvy enough to take place in a region modeled on Las Vegas.

I mean, if you're going to have a TDU game take place on an island with plenty of casinos, why not an island in the Bahamas? The only other locale that I associated with casinos is Monaco, but that's not exactly an island, is it?

I think gameplay itself might still be a year away, but they're trying to come up with a way of building up interest in the game and the brand in the mean time. I don't mind a cgi trailer if gameplay isn't currently available as an option, as long as we get gameplay down the road.

I mean if you think about it we know almost nothing (and have seen next to nothing yet in trailers) about the next GT or the next Forza but they create their own interest/buzz anyway as everyone knows the brand. Many/most casuals have probably never heard of Test Drive.

They will have to get gameplay out there before release though.
