Adding animated gif to existing image

Hi everyone, I'm new here (obviously), and fairly new to Photoshop 6/Image Ready. I do well with it, but I'm stuck on something.

I want to add an animated gif to an existing banner, but I can't get it right. A quick check of manuals and stuff doesn't get me anywhere. I would dig deeper but I'm kind of pressed for time and would sure appreciate some help.

What I've been doing is selecting, copying & pasting the frames onto the existing banner, each on their own layer. But I see no animation. I know I'm missing something simple, but I don't have a simple mind. :D

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Just open your banner and animation up.. Take frame 1 from the animation and put it on the banner where you want it, save it as blahblah1.gif (or jpg). Go back and paste frame 2 from the animation onto the banner, save it as blahblah2.gif(or jpg). And so on like that. Than after you have done it with all the frames, go to whatever program you use to animate and place them in order and save it. 👍

epic, THANK YOU. And I feel a bit stupid right about now, too. A couple hours ago I was talking to a friend and he basically told me the same thing. Now don't ask why I couldn't think of that before. Guess I've just been working too hard lately, and being fairly new to photoshop I somehow had it in my head that it was difficult. I dunno. :banghead:

I feel much better now.... thanks again. :)
