Any on here using it? I was at another forum and saw an ' AIM Lite ' icon. So I go search, download it, install it. I'm on it on Vista right now. I gotta say, I love the minimalism of it, but I hate the fact you can't hear sound when some one IM's me.

Is there a way to fix this? I know there's like 10 beta's, and I got the most recent one.

Here's the download guys if you wanna try it out 👍

Okay, I've figured out that there's plug-in's for it, and I found the one for IM Receive sounds, but I don't know how to use this plug in and where do I put it?

I saw this a while back. The project looks interesting, giving the user a choice not to install their bloated advertising program (with chat capability). If I had Windows, I'd definitely use this over regular AIM.

But for now, I'll stick with Gaim and Adium.

I'm using Gaim at work, and Trillian at home. Trillian is a bit nicer with the skins, window position memory and such, while Gaim is just so friggin lite on the resources.

I didn't ask on your guys opinions about IM protocols and such, just about AIM Lite

But really, if any body happens to find any info on the way to install these plug - ins, please post a link or reply with how to do it. Thanks :)

Well, we know very little about this client, so we can't help but compare it to other AIM alternatives. ;)

About the plugins - you just double-click to install, right?

Unless you disabled it a long time ago, you should've seen it at least a hundred times by now.

Well, I was bored, so I rebooted, and booted to Vista. Tried the sound things again, and it worked this time. So I'm happy.

What other IM Protocols are there for XP though?

I'm not going to use GAIM because I just tried it for XP and MSN wouldn't work and GAIM would crash.

I heard about Miranda but I heard it was unstable.

I don't like Trillian much at all.

AIM Lite and MSN Messenger for me? I don't know.

You need the newer version of Gaim. That crashing has been fixed. Apparently MSN changed something on their end and so Gaim could not connect and crashed.

gaim.sourceforge.net

Edit: Whoops, I didn't notice DWA mentioned that already/

So MSN is not working on GAIM then? because I'm looking for a great alternative to MSN, but I only use MSN contacts and I'm unable to get an older version of MSN since the new live C**P is out. Any alternative that will allow me to talk to MSN users is great.
