"CHIP FIRM AMD told analysts yesterday that it will roll out quad cores by 2007.

That is going to give Intel a severe headache.

According to a report on the IDG News Service, the quad cores will be linked by a revised type of Hypertransport that can support DDR.

And that will mean servers with up to 32 CPUs, according to AMD. Earlier this week AMD partner Newisys showed off the Horus chipset which will allow for 32 way systems.

Good grief!

Even though I read The Inquirer, I have to take everything they post with a large grain of salt. In previous examples, they have been on average about 50% correct with their articles. If this article leads to a truth, I'll be a happy camper to see the technological world pushed that much further.
