Well I'll always vote no matter what my stupid family says. I'll just lie if they ever ask me again. I'm keeping up on the news. I heard another war has been started by Isreal. Is-ra-hell!! My mom saw it on the Twitter news and she told me about it.
Okay then.

"I'll keep up on the news" immediately followed by a lightly premature declaration of war (between two Middle East countries, in the America thread) from an escalation which started five days ago from "my mom saw it on Twitter" is absolutely a mood.

Something something Joe Rogan.

Tucker Carlson and MTG leading the fracture of MAGA over Iran was not something I had on my bingo card. These asshats really do just eat themselves. And then Ted Cruz just starts spouting classified information.

We're going to need a bigger bingo card.

Chris, some suggestions

DON'T get your news from those who you call "your stupid family", or from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc etc.

In any one week, DO get your news DIRECTLY from MULTIPLE sources, at least 10, preferably around 20

DO get your news from actual news sources who employ real journalists, who fact-check before publishing and when they make mistakes, are committed to fixing their errors.

DO look for strong corrections policies such as this - https://www.nytimes.com/article/new-york-times-corrections.html

Finally, if an internet link looks like click-bait, it probably is. Tune up your click-bait detector! 😀

Thanks, I'll write down and note all of this. CNN and Fox News are good sites for news. So is the Associated Press and The Guardian.

It's crazy that the shooter was only 12 years old when Trump was first elected. TDS is real.
So I'm legitimately curious what role a pejorative which exists exclusively for worthless Trumpers (but I repeat myself) to mindlessly parrot at critics of their pedophile bitch king played in that assassination attempt but did not in the shootings of prominent Minnesota Democrats...or anyone else. How does "TDS" differ from what motivates others to take such action absent any meaningful link to the Fake Bake bitch?

As amusing as this is, I wouldn't be surprised if Tucker is really only pushing not to get involved/attack Iran b/c they're Russian allies and we know Tucker has been seen kissing a new ring since he got axed from Fox.

Fox News and CNN are more or less infotainment. They don't really provide news, but rather opinions and sensationalizations. AP and Reuters are going to be a good place for news without a ton of bias. Ideally, look for the actual source of something. I know you talks about fluoride in water in the past. Instead of reading a news article, actually look at studies done and draw your own conclusions. It might be tricky at first but it's worth it in the long run so you can start to separate fact from fiction. Nothing is without bias, but some sources are way more bias than others.

Channels like CNN and Fox News are good to see footage of things though. They throw their reporters into active war zones and end up getting some pretty good footage as a result. But also bear in mind, that footage can be edited in a way that spins a narrative.

One approach to verifying new information is to treat it as a claim, and not immediately classify it as a fact. You can then test the claim by looking for contradicting evidence and the existence of supporting claims from other sources. If you don't have time to look into something that's OK, just keep it labeled as a claim that needs to be verified.

You are trolling, sir?

Generally you want to find a news source that is unbiased and reports facts, without skewing the story either way. Biased news sources will report the same story in a completely different light e.g.

"President Donald Trump gifted Boeing 747 by Qatar" (Unbiased)

vs

"President Donald Trump has accepted the great gift of a Boeing 747, gifted by Qatar as a sign of admiration and strengthening bonds between the two countries" (biased, suggests this is a really good things for Trump and the USA).

vs

"President Trump has accepted a Boeing 747 jet from Qatar. Various lawyers concerned move is illegal and could be bribery" (biased, implies Trump is commiting criminal acts in accepting the jet).

All three takes provide the same fact - Trump accepted a jet from another country, but all spin it differently.

I bring this up because Fox News is biased towards Republican interests, and so the news they promote often has spin to make Trump and the White House Administration look good.

You need sources that are unbiased, or as close to unbiased as you can get, so YOU can read facts and come to your own conclusions if it is good news, bad news or somewhere in between.

No, believe me. I'm not trolling. Just trying to be a good citizen and watch the news to be aware of my surroundings. I know what I'm doing. Autism sucks though, I'm not as smart as I think I am.

Fox News is out in the open explicitly a propaganda outlet for republican perspective. If you want something more comparable to CNN level bias from the right, go with the WSJ. That's the right-wing counterpart to CNN. CNN is not explicitly a propaganda outlet, but is left leaning.

In general, while biased news outlets can help balance each other out, I would encourage you to take @Joey D's advice and find more fact-based reporting and just ignore the infotainment.

Glad judges are not letting things such as this stand. It’s taking time to be addressed, but that’s by design of the current administration.

These charts may help when it comes to deciding which news sources are the least biased and most honest and factual. It may be a good idea to visit the weblinks above each one from time to time to get the latest version and check the ratings haven't changed.

These are for online websites only. The first one has additional pages for broadcast media.

Note that one lists Associated Press (AP) as neutral while the other lists it as strongly left biased. The choice is yours but remember these sites could themselves be biased as well.

Bloomberg left? WSJ center? Damn, what are they smoking??? Those two (at least) should be shifted 2 spots to the right. Maybe WSJ about 1.5.

They are in the AdFontes chart. That's why I say take these charts under advisement. This along with the AP placement is why AllSides' table seems to me to be swayed too much by public opinion and user reviews. I'd include other sources for comparison but I couldn't find any. But at least we have two to compare instead of just the one so discrepancies like this can be highlighted.

As a reader of the WSJ and a past reader of the New York Post, putting the two of them in the same category would be crime-worthy.

On a broad one-dimensional absolute left to right scale, which is what the table is about, I'm prepared to believe both publications share some overlap.

Note that the editorial section of the Post is rated farther right on the table. It seems to be the US equivalent of our Sun whose editorials have a similar reputation.

I'm not seeing a declaration of war anywhere.
