Can confirm, my great-grandmother got her second dosage last week and now she has a microchip planted inside her. Bill Gates and the “globalists” now know everywhere she goes, everything she says, thinks, and does, thanks to the Democrats pro-vax pro-mask agenda. Vaccines are for sheeps.

Meet Craig R. Brittain. He’s a Republican running for Senate in Arizona.

Seems nice, right? Note the delicious hypocrisy of screaming “no handouts here” when he literally opened the conversation by asking for a handout. Does he sound familiar?

Yup. Ran a revenge porn website called Is Anybody Down? If that’s not enough to tell you he has issues with women, check out this exchange.

Sad thing is, he’ll probably get more than a few votes.

The elderly are less likely to own smart phones hence the reason why, and the only reason why, they are at the front of the que to get vaccinated. Now Bill Gates and friends can track everyone!!!

Right trash.

What’s the over/under on Tuck-boy already having gotten his vaccination? A vaccination so dangerous Rupert Murdoch got his as soon as it was available. You know Rupert? Tucker’s boss?

*gasp*

I may or may not watch it. I dislike Tucker Carlson, but I also dislike John Oliver. I enjoyed the piece he did on SLAPP lawsuits, but I enjoyed it despite him yelling at me throughout.

"Do as we say, not as we do."

Republicans tend to crusade against porn. That's odd. Or it would be if the contemporary Republican platform wasn't simply 'anti-Democrat at all costs.'

Still, revenge porn is something else entirely. I'm of the belief that there's nothing intrinsically harmful about the production, distribution and consumption of pornography, but the foundation of revenge porn is to violate and do harm to the subjects--it's right there in the name. Much like sexual intercourse itself, all parties need to consent in advance of distribution of pornographic material in which they feature.

Right trash.

It just so happens John Oliver had a segment on his show this past Sunday night about this idiot.

I’m a bit surprised John didn’t bring up the Fox lawsuit where they basically said not everything Tucker says can be taken as fact.

Those clips of Tucker calling in though, spouting clear bigotry was new to me. John’s segment has pretty much got Tucker’s schtick down.

I'm still amazed that Jon Stewart going on Crossfire nearly two decades ago:

And eviscerating Carlson so badly that CNN basically immediately cancelled the show out of shame somehow managed to be turned into a healthy career where he acts even worse.

Or maybe it's just because he doesn't dress like someone from an episode of Scooby Doo anymore.

My favorite part of the entire clip is when John showed a clip from Tucker saying “Maybe I don’t want to live in a country that looks nothing like the one I grew up in. Is that bigoted?”

To which John replied, "Uh, yeah. Yeah, it is. That’s like saying I’ve got 10 fingers and toes, a pointy face with a little pink rosebud mouth, a cat-sized body, a long, weird tail and I eat garbage. Does that make me a possum? Yes. Yes it does. That’s the literal definition of the thing you just described.":lol::lol:

Don’t forget that Tucker stopped wearing a bow tie because Jon Stewart made fun of it. That’s some serious insecurity.

Carlson got pwned so much he stopped wearing bowties at 35. This video is such a schooling that it's unbelievable.

The only downside is Stewart saying that the Bush Jr administration being hard to top in absurdity.

Sure but even the Birther conspiracy was years away in 2004.

Jon Stewart is so ****ing sharp, you'd swear that was rehearsed.

...

Republicans: "Washington D.C. shouldn't get statehood and have representation in Congress because it consistently votes in favor of the Democratic party."

Also Republicans: "Washington D.C. shouldn't get to vote for president because it consistently votes in favor of the Democratic party."

And yeah, you read that right. The original sponsor of the bill is indeed Dusty Johnson.

And just when the world needed him most, Stewart vanished; replaced with someone who is so bad at political humor that even the softball crap fed to him in Coming 2 America was screwed up.

Not to use "vanished" but you could say similar about Bill Hicks and George Carlin.
Didn't Stewart become a huge vocal supporter of the 9/11 fund for those affected in the years he's been off the air?

Politico just missed some old school politics:

Biden won’t embrace filibuster reforms even as the rest of his party does

Those words were picked carefully. "Preference". My preference is that the republicans work with democrats to pass good legislation on voting rights (and bringing DC into statehood) as well. This is setting the republicans up to be the ones who refuse bipartisanship, it's old school politics. The democrats are willing to work with republicans (is what this is trying to say) and when the republicans refuse, it will not be because the democrats refused to work with them.

Old school politics, the way it used to be. Biden is not Trump, politico forgot that for a moment.

....aaaaaaaand just like that, Biden backs amending the filibuster. I'm sure he considers this consistent. He prefers not to, but supports it if necessary.

You can prefer not to do something but still do it out of necessity. That's not inconsistent. The key being that a person's "preference" doesn't mean diddly squat when it comes to doing their job. You were right that those words were picked carefully.

When the hell was Trevor Noah in Coming 2 America?

I’ve always liked TPM. I was a subscriber for years but had to let it lapse. I should get back on it. I find Josh Marshall to be one of the savviest and least histrionic reporters out there.
I'm aware of it, but it's not an outlet that I'm inclined to take in consistently. I just went looking for other takes on the subject and that headline cracked me up.

I went ahead and read the article as it actually addressed what "scorched earth" looks like and how serious it is. Apparently it's not that serious, if McConnell abuses the good will needed to keep the senate moving, the senate can adjust the rules so that good will is not needed. Basically it's filibuster lite, and can be undone in the same way. Meh.

McConnell also threatened to push through legislation that the democrats won't like when they get a majority back... well duh! That's table stakes. Empty threats.

McConnell just has his claws out now. He'll be flipped over, wobbling on his shell again the next time he defies the unhinged Republican establishment in an appeal to moderates.

I hate being cynical, but I’m very cynical about the prospect of the filibuster being abolished, or at the very least having an overhaul. Even if Manchin and Sinema can be moved to support this position, I’m doubtful that Biden will. After all, this is a guy who prioritizes “reaching across the aisle” more than anything, even saying that America needs a “strong opposition party”. He’s already hinted that he does not want to partake in filibuster reform.

I cannot emphasize this enough: if nothing changes with the filibuster, legislation that will actually help the average American and strengthen our democracy/weaken the possibility of a shift towards fascism in the future, such as the John Lewis Voting Act, the Equality Act, the Pro Act, among others, could not possibly be passed. These pieces of legislation, which are directly opposed to the ways in which Republicans remain powerful, will be filibustered to no end, hence effectively being killed. Whether Biden decides to do something or not regarding the filibuster also determines whether or not he truly cares about the aforementioned bills being passed into law.

They know what's up. They're all walking into it slowly to make sure they can make it as clear as possible that they don't take this lightly.
