Yeah basically what's the best way to use 7th using the H-gate as the paddle's don't work when the shifter is in H-gate mode . Do I have to sacrifice one of the 2 buttons on the wheel it's self as I normally have them set to look right and look back .

Is there another way?

Thanks

I never noticed a 7th gear on the car.
You probably will have to disable the 6 gated shifting and use sequential.
I will have to try this tonight.

yeah for the amuse you have to use the sequential mode of the gearbox otherwise you won't get into the 7th gear which gives you the leading edge in top speed: D

I only noticed today myself whilst using the pad....... but I think I'm going set one of the two red buttons on the wheel to up shift and carry on using the H-gate but upshift the last gear via the red button to keep it realistic as possible . Unless of course the car uses sequential gears in real life but the clutch works and the driver animates the gear change so I assume it's manual.

I'am not sure if you can Up-shift when you have H gated gear selected. Never hurts to try tho

Yeah roger that I'll give it shot later but whilst I'm here can anyone confirm that having the Japanese and PAL version installed on the same machine does not cause any kind of conflict.

doesn't cause any conflict. Have both installed and both updated.

Do you like realistic driving? If so, why do you drive a 7 speed sequential gearbox in a manualy H-6 speed transmission?

That car has to be driven with sequential gear shifting... its the only way to play it for good.

Cars that are Manual, you drive them Manual. If that is an semi-automatic, drive it that way!

Thank you.

So are you saying that it is Sequential in real life and the driver's hand movement is him just using the sequential stick . That just leaves the clutch why does the clutch work ?

Thanks

Clutch still disengages the motor and allows you to get the car rolling in 1st. Its not necessary once the car is moving.

When I drove this car, I used the H pattern shifter and I didn't miss the 7th gear.
Maybe if I adjust my gear ratios some I could make better use of it.

The clutch might work for two reasons. It can be an error in the game, and it can happen that, since the car has a different gearbox, the clutch is left working. The car is F20C engine based like others, with stroker kit and turbo'ed, but the gearbox was changed. I'm trully convinced that it is sequential and has a clutch, but I may be wrong.

Other cars like this one are Arta's NSX GT-1, and many other JGTC cars, that were transformed to sequential and still got clutch operating.

OK thanks for clearing it up , sequential it is then .

Same here, But I did see Clutch and Sequential Shifter :)
Some Small class Formula cars, they do have sequential, but no clutch, in order to change gears, you need to let off the gas, push the paddle and back on gas again.

And another car with seven gears:

Suzuki Cervo SR `07

Couldn`t believe my eyes as I looked on the gear display.

F1 cars have clutch (paddle) which must be engaged only when you start the car off. All gears are sequental.

Depends on the gear box, some trannys have clutches some don't. Most aftermarket sequentials (like the ones for the 350z) simply bolt onto your stock transmission and retain your clutch. Some transmissions have a electronically controlled clutch (like dsg, and some racing trans.) but having a sequential shifter has nothing to do with weather or not there is a clutch.

fair enuff, I was just a bit confused cos I thought you were saying they had 7/8 speed H-shift gearboxes!

nah....:)haha..can you imagine how big your left leg would become if you had to shift thu 8 gears manualy all the time??....haha:)people will ask you if you forgot to train your right leg at the gym...:sly:
spyrrari.

12 speed plus truck drivers anyone? ;)

Turn the H gate into a Dogleg setup. Have reverse as first and keep second gear as 2nd and then upshift to third into the first gear slot...i know this sounds confusing and i really shud do a diagram but thats the way i was thinking it...plus its the old skool way of having 2nd - 3rd gear shifts straight instead of cross the gate.
