Anybody use ACAD/MapInfo?

I've got a MAP file from MapInfo, it's around half a gig. After exporting it to a DXF it jumps up to 1.5 gig, which I can't open in ACAD, it just crashes.

Wondering how I can split it down either in MAP or DXF format so I can use my OS tiles in ACAD.
