Lately I've been looking at the track list and I know that most of the tracks are real life tracks that have been put in the game but there are a lot of track that I've never heard of. So I wanted to know if gran turismo made them up. I could check in the games credits but I figure this would be a lot less work.
So this is the track list:

3. Rome Night
4. Seattle Circuit Full Course
5. Seattle Short Course
6. Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Rome and Seattle do not exist as racetracks.

Grindelwald is real as well, so you have either real or based on real tracks (ie they are actual roads but not used as a track ifl)
Grindelwald, a small town somewhere.
Seattle full and short, based on maps of seattle.
Rome full, short and night, all based on maps of rome.
Super speedway (it's motegi ifl as Daan said).
Pikes peak, the track in GT2 is based on the real one not an actual copy of it, the real one is longer, alot longer so PD got the flavour of the track and made a short representation of it.
Tahiti road and rally courses are based on Tahiti but no idea if they're real roads or not.
And Laguna Seca, a famouse race track in the US.

Since High Speed Ring was forgotten from the list, I thought I'd mention it looks a lot like the Fuiji International Circuit in Japan. (Pole Position, anyone?)

Do a search, this topic's been covered plenty of times.

It's not Fuji though, there is a similarity in shape but Fuji is longer ths HSR.
