Well thanks to the US we almost lost our countries freedom to be its own country, if that makes sense.

What relevance does that have to my point? Britain was generally accepted as saved during the Battle of Britain in Summer/Autumn of 1940, a year before America entered the war.

By having a free nation you have to let people "crap on your flag".

Without the USA meddling in affairs it didn't belong in, yes the world would be a much different place...a much better place in my opinion. If we spent our money on the advancement of humanity instead of trying to export democracy, bomb third world nations off the map, and police everyone's affairs I think we would be doing better as a nation and have less people hate our government or way of life.

Is the US a good country? Sure I could live in worse places, but is it the best nation on Earth? That's debatable. You need to step back and take a look at the bigger picture. Has the US done good things in the world, absolutely. Have we done just as many bad things? Yes.

In all my foreign travels and with everyone I've met from all over the globe the same thing always comes up, Americans are arrogant and I tend to agree. It is one thing to have pride in one's nation, it's another to loft it up on a pedestal in which is does not belong. The US has it's faults and even some of it's positives can be seen as negatives depending on the perspective you look at it through.

Some people need to stop and think for a second how they are representing their country and what it can do to reinforce stereotypes and give other people a negative view of that country. Maybe it's just the anthropologist in me talking, but this is just my opinion on the matter.

Oh and England so totally just kicked the rowdy teenagers out of the Empire to end the American Revolution .

And now I find it funny if Canada ever tried to attack the US, the deer hunters of Michigan would probably have a larger standing army then Canada and be able to defend us!!

And providing we got through WWII, and the cold war without the USA, we wouldn't have the war in the middle east today - and we didn't exactly lack freedom before Bagdad, did we?
