awd/4wd and better traction how to...

i have a hybrid camaro with around 8,000hp and i got supersoft slicks and my tranny is pretty wide but i still spin the tires alot i was wondering if anyone could help me with traction.what i really want to do is a wheelie of the line but i dont think that will happen,but maybe. if not how do i convert it to 4 wheel drive because i am only butting 10.57 with the car.i want to keep the power because i really like the top speed of 485 mph which isn't that fast compared to some i have seen in this forum. so far i have been playing with the rear grip but i dont see results like export then change the num. the importing it

thanks!

If its RWD, put indy car 5.5 tires on the rear. I have a 1800hp Camaro drag car and it grips in 1st without grip mods.

well i have been reading that some people have gone 6.6 sec in a 400m with and awd car. i have tried the tire on a civic type r and it did better with the regular super soft but that was fwd so i will try it tonight since the camaro is rwd it might work.and how about the civic how do i change it to rwd or awd because i am doing only12.3 with 1200hp top speed 294 thanks mazkid ill try it tonight.

To change to AWD, go to drivetrain/vcs(or something like that), and get the Altowork's 4wd, it's the best 4wd you can get.

And did you notice with the Civic that with the indy car fronts on there it drifts side to side, turning it self? I was making a FWD drag car out of the R and it had that problem, so did my bro's FTO.

i have done the 4wd convertion and 400m times have droped down a lot. i have done it to the camaro and with the t8/supersoft with no mod grip i pulled a 8.19et. are all f1 cars have the same tire type or is it out of a certain f1. i had the same problem with the f1 tires on the civic with it going side to side i just thought that the f1 tires sucked because the t8s were much better. oh and i have just downloaded v4 of the mk program and it just makes hybriding easier than before. oh one last thing when doing the mod grip on line 356 and 360 i think those are it like 360=-76 to add more traction do you lower the number or make it higher because i have two views on that the higher the number the worst the traction since it a neg number or is it the other way around
thanks
mazkid you've help a lot

The F1 tires are all the same I believe, and they are better grip than T8s. I'm not sure about the grip mods, I've never done anything with them. The only thing I can figure on the Civic is that the tires give too much grip, the pulling power on them makes them go side to side, or the tires are too wide. I suggest you put the Camaro back to RWD and put the F1 tires on the back only. I have Mini front tires on mine, looks funny but it works.

well right now i just converted it back to rwd and put f1 tires in the back but i pulled a 9.3 avg. but best was 9.26 so after i did that i changed it to the t8 and they suck i got the 10.5s again so the the f1 tires are really good so i tried the 4wd again and pulled a 7.89 with the f1 front and rear and the awd but when i first tried it the game locked up then i used thechange part button and it worked. but the bad thing about those tires is that they make my rims like tiny
thank again mazkid

ponyboy347,
Try this little trick, it will prolly work well even without F1 tires.
On df lines in .ini file try
292=0
296=0
I think both you guys will like this, props to prking for coming up with it.
For Super gloss paint and rims use
488=0

If ya want to check out a car with it, just save this as a .txt file and then chose "import car" from the program.

I can't imagine 8,000HP and not having any Traction.... Sorry for the rediculas post, but seriously, 8,000 HP is kind of rediculas. :D

Good luck with your quest for traction...

:cheers:

TC, I have a 4000+hp CL600, and the tracktion sucks. I have tcs on it now, but it's just not the same. What lines are traction and what should I set it to? I don't want to make the car totally not skid, but I need to be able to get going and not skid at 225MPH.
And does going up or down increase traction?
Thanks TC, and I have to try that 488=0 thingy, make my cars look way clean.

Thanks

No prob Maz, I love the car shine too. Things i've found that works great for traction is the 0 df thing. Makes it handle and brake at near f1 standards and thats on t8's, I really try not to use the ugly f1 tires.
For grip(lines 356 & 360 in the .ini file) i'm using 96, some people were using 256 but it makes your car shake big time. I know ya woulden't like it. So try to find something in between. If you don't want to use the 0 df then at least go high with it. Most are using from -180,-200 front and -190,-220 or so rear. Oh yeah, it's gonna be hard to tame that kind of hp with 0 tcs, i havent dl a car yet that wasent using it to some degree.

Well my 16336HP Elise doesn't use TCS, grip mods, or DF mods. It's just the F1 tires grip so much but I don't wanna use them on every car. Thanks for the help. :)

it works really well and it has good traction i have the camaro fr with t8 and i set line 292 and 296 to 0and it droped over a sec. amost as good as the f1s and i get my wheel reg.size but i kind of like the f1s in the back it looks pretty good like a 1/4 mile car but it made my rims tiny so tonight i think i am going to try the awd the that trick with the line 292 and 296 with and with out the f1sand try the traction mod oh the bmw looks nice with the silver paint real gloss and i did some good times in it mid 9s
thanks guys for your help everyday i drop to a lower et with your guys' help

oh yeah i have done the traction mod but it didnt seem to work or i didnt do it right but i tried 0,50,75 and then i tried 1800 just to see what happens and yeah the rear of my car was jumping so i tried to go to the spring rate inside of the game and set it to 14.2 and i droped like 4tenth of a sec. but i think i went over board with the number so i think ill start @90 and work up by 10s and let you no what was the best mod grip # was for me

Damn the blinding car!!! The AI will go blind! Super reflective! It's hard to tell what color the car is because it's reflecting everything!

Great find TC, but it doesn't last :( Looks like I'll have to redo it.

Hey Maz, whatever ya do DONT wash your car after super shine. Then i think it stays. I really just built the BMW as a show car. I'll prolly be staying under 3000 or so hp. On the grip thing, it's a bit strange, i keep it at -96.
ponyboy347,
Try starting in 3rd gear, a good source told me it will reduce wheel spin.

I had the grip at 100(-101) and it still wasn't enough. I'll set it at like 130 or so and try that. And I didn't wash the car, I just drove it too long and it got dirty...

cool, thats good to know, I diden't notice because i keep working on the same mem card, when i load it's a brand new car again.
