The Baku Street Circuit is a planned motor racing circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan to be constructed near Baku Boulevard. It will host the European Grand Prix from 2016.

The Baku Street Circuit is set on the Azerbaj coast, running alongside the Caspian Sea line. The circuit travels past some of Baku City's most iconic features including one of the tallest flag poles in the world and the famous Crystal Hall.

The brainchild of the Baku World Challenge was former F1 champion, Thierry Boutsen, back in 2012, and in a short space of time the idea developed into the glamourous 4km street circuit which is now on the FIA GT calendar.

The first race which takes place on 23/24 November 2013 will be a massive bonus for Motorsport as the Baku Street Circuit boosts the sport's profile in yet another territory.

In December 2013, Formula One President and CEO Bernie Ecclestone suggested that the race would be run in 2016 but later said that because the Korean Grand Prix organisers were in breach of contract, it would be moved to 2015.

However, in July 2014 it was announced that the race's debut would be delayed until 2016.

The layout of the circuit will be designed by circuit architect Hermann Tilke and will be based around Azadliq Square, Neftchilar Avenue, Government House and Maiden Tower.
