I LOVE the new Demio/2, it's one of my favourite modern small city cars. Seeing both a black and a red version of it in the flesh only helped with that statement, the car just looks good while being refreshing (unlike certain other companies that name their cars after a type of clothing, like, I dunno, a polo?). The older ones aren't so pretty, but the original Demio just seems to be the better looking one compared to "our" Demio.

Ah... I stand corrected then, @SuzukaStar san. Guess they are BFFs now, which is good, since the Skyactiv engine is a very solid engine.

As for your times, damm did the Demio do progress in overall pace, the '99 is slow as a snail compared to its younger brothers. I'm also surprised to hear that the COTW Demio is actually faster than the March, despite an average gearbox and a rather wayward handling, the Demio pulled a decent pace. But then we have the Vitz/Yaris RS...

And your thoughts on the car so far are?

1. You used a yellow one Suzuka!! (I like the yellow ones)

And so begins another week of COTW's 'Attack of the clones'.

Not as nostalgia inducing as its older brother, ( first car you ever drive in GT1's licence test ) but to be fair it also had the honor of being the first car you drove in a GT game licence test, GT4 Prolouge to be exact. :P

Which side will I pick? Which ever one that offers cookies. :D

It's your average lightweight, underpowered hatchback :indiff:

I'd rather drive the lighter, more underpowered Civic '83 :D

The Honda weighs 265 kg less, and is down by only 14 hp and 8 ft-lbs of torque.

Figures you'd say that. And I agree; the Demio just lacks fizz, and you get more or less the same horsepower and far better thrills by buying a 1st gen MX5. Really, it's that obvious. And that transmission is terrible, but not as bad as the horribly whining CVT that the '10 Demio/2 has. Jesus, that just makes driving feel like a chore rather than fun, I'm surprised that PD didn't chose that as the forced first car. It takes away even the pleasure of a MT transmission, although it is nice to drive at least.

Honda just does the small FF game much better, the other brands should take notes about that. Old FF Hondas are amongst the best of the best when it comes to finesse in their class.

I purchased the '02 Demio Sport. Because I'm a rebel.

Joke's on you, I also bought a Demio. Guess you ain't the only rebel now, son. :mischievous:

Go for the Japanese side, we have some great yakisoba and sushi dishes. And we can also provide cookies if you want. :P

Also, that nostalgia bit is pretty true, the '99 Demio belongs to the OG Gran Turismo era after all. Can't really match that sort of rep, now can you?

Rebels, huh? Guess I have a planet to blow up with my new Death Star now...

Joke's on you Darth Sauber, I have contacts, with certain space villains. We could say they belong to a certain Japanese franchise that starts with a G and ends with a N (it may be preceded by the words "Mobile Suit"). Let's see if you can still talk smack after being smacked by the Axis colony...

Your tin suits are no match for my fully operational Death Star.

Who spoke about "bin suits", sir? As I said, I have many abandoned space colonies, which have been transformed into weapons of mass destruction. I can easily give out the order to drop one on your pretty little Death Star and turn it into space rubble. Of course, a quick flash attack from my so-called "bin suits" won't hurt. Hurt me, that is...

We can discuss this further once your colonies have been liberated by the Imperial Navy. I find your lack of faith disturbing...

To everyone, there's this new thing I'm doing. Feel free to join.

P.S. You guys need to see this:

I just got done testing the Volkswagen Polo GTI '01.

It's faster than our COTW by 3 tenths of a second, tying the Civic '83 with a 1:37.6

I suppose that makes the Polo the ideal competition to the Demio '03.

An even better competitor would be my last COTW choice; the VW Lupo GTI. Small, nimble and has a much better (not to mention sharper) power delivery than the Polo. I'd like to see how well it fares against the Civic...
