Searched and didn't find a proper topic about this.

What is the best overall street legal car in GT5?
I've had good experience with the following:
Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
McLaren F1 '94
Tommykaira ZZII '00

From these three I lap fastest with the S2000. :)

I also hear that the Jaguar XJ220 '92 and Honda NSX Prototype LM Road Car are good choices.
Haven't tried personally those...
I also hear mentioned the Mazda Furai Concept '08 but is it a street legal car?

And one more thing. I think it would be really nice to have an option when creating a lobby online to rule out the race cars. 👍 I enjoy the road cars so much more!
PP system is somewhat good in that but not perfect...

Update:
I've run a decent amount of practice runs to find out the fastest street legal car.
The track was Grand Valley East. It favors a bit high top speed cars because of the long straight.

Constantly lapping under 58 seconds:
1. Nissan Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98
2. Cadillac CIEN Concept '02
3. Volkswagen W12 Nardo Concept '01

And the rest that come very close in lap times:
4. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '09
5. TVR Cerbera Speed 12 '00
6. Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR '08
7. Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce '08
8. Nissan GT-R SpecV '09
9. McLaren F1 '94
10. Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
11. Tommykaira ZZII '00

The TVR Cerbera Speed 12. Believe it or not the real one was street legal! Unfortunately it was damaged and the body was replaced with one from a Speed 12 race car, so I don't know if it still is legal.

The XJ220 is an great car, but I wouldnt consider it one of the best. Its a bit of a handful. You can get a better lap out of an '06 Z06 at the same power/weight.

I usually race around the 400 hp level and the two cars that really shine to me are the '02 NSX Type-R & believe it or not, the '03 Shelby Series 1. The Shelby is absolutely fantastic, sticks like glue and goes like hell.

I have also heard really good things about the GT1 Turbo S2000, but havent had the chance to drive one yet.

Pagani Zonda R '09

The Pagani Zonda R isn't street legal.

I think the Nissan GT-R is one of the best cars. It keeps up with cars 2-4 times the price, and it sounds great with a titanium exhaust!

Of course the BEST would be the Lamborghini's and the Ferrari's. These cars have the best reputation, look fantastic, sound even better, and have the price tag of an apartment...

Just a little tid bit on stock cars and online racing: Yeah you could use the Nissan R390 road car or other Road car versions of race cars but I've found that most people will get upset at you for picking those types of cars. I've decided not to use them anymore in "stock car" or "road car" rooms.

Plus I find alot more pleasure in having a close race, I dont want a masacre like A-spec.

McLaren F1 is an absolute beast! 👍 Threw it around the track a bit. It has sick downforce for a road car. I think 35/70 in my stealth version at least. I also like 458 and Enzo but in the end IMO they're not quite as fast as F1 when compared the best lap times.

If you have to limit the power to a certain level, some other cars shine. I really like different NSX models and the Shelby Series 1 in the 400-450bhp range. In the 450-650 range the S2000 GT1 Turbo is my ultimate choice. :D

Does anyone know about the street legality of Mazda Furai?

The Furai was only a concept to preview Mazda's 'New styling' direction wasn't in?

So therefor i am guessing that it is not street legal

That what I would also suggest. It's also a 100% race car inside. Wiki says it's built on Courage C65 chassis and runs on ethanol. Doesn't sound like a sunday driver's standard. :)

Yep, it's definitely real, and the concept could actually drive around a track but it's by no means street legal.

"Best" is of course a vague term, but I'd go for Mclaren F1. Probably not the fastest street car around a track, but I think it's the "best" around a track. 👍

I've had good experience with the following:
Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
McLaren F1 '04
Tommykaira ZZII '00

Isn't the Mclaren F1 a 94 not 04??? :ouch:

Mclaren F1
458 Italia
NSX-R

^ These are currently my favourite street legal cars.

Just tried the R390 Road Car. I think it's even faster than McLaren F1.
There is a good point in not using cars as such in online races. My favorite races are the close ones too, hehehe!

R390 road car blew me away when I first got it. It's always my fastest non race car in practice runs.

I've only recently got the NSX prototype road car and it's pretty good. Not sure if it has the pace of the R390 though, more testing required.

Can't think of any others on the pace of these two that I have owned.

My choices would have to be these:

R390 GT1 Road Car

TVR Cebera Speed 12

Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car

Tommy Kaira ZZ-ll

McLaren F1

GT By Citroen Concept.

All are incredibly fast and have fantastic handling, even though the ZZ-ll is quite a handful.

I really miss the Toyota GT one Road Car and Ford GT40 Road Car from GT3, I wonder why they left those out?

You must own an s2000 lol. The McLaren will wipe the floor with the s2000 including lap times

Agreed. Awesome. And the noise it makes is pure heaven!

I've been doing times around the Top Gear track with all my street legal super cars and the Veyron is at #1 right now. Have it at 10/90 torque distribution, and kinda gymkhana it around the track.

I'll update tomorrow with my best laptimes for each car I tested tomorrow.

McClaren is my favorite...I see it as more of a street car than a street modified class C race car. My second favorite I've not seen mentioned yet...Zonda 12s...It owns all the other Italian supercars.

Fun to drive: McLaren F1
Online racing: GTR SpecV tuned to 600+hp
I probably should buy another F1 and heavily tune it though!
