Bluetooth Headset Question

I have a Jabra bluetooth headset that I use for my iPhone and it works great. I've read that any bluetooth headset will work on the PS3, doesn't have to be the "official" one. So I go to "settings" and pair it, and it shows up as connected. But when I'm in an online lobby or race I can hear other people talking through my normal speakers and I see the little chat bubble next to their name when they talk, but I hear no sound in my bluetooth headset and when I speak nobody can hear me and the little chat bubble doesn't appear next to my name. What do I have to do to get it to work?

I feel like a real noob asking this, but until recently I didn't have a stable enough internet connection to play online so I've never learned how to chat with the bluetooth. I'm sure it's a simple answer, but my searches on here (and elsewhere) did not turn up any good results.

Any help would be appreciated, and I look forward to talking with you guys online soon! :)

I had the same problem with Cod. You need to go into ps3 settings for audio I think and set the audio input device to your headset and prob output too, not at ps3 at the mO so can't remember exactly but it should be obvious when you get there!

Extrusion is right. Go into Accessory Settings, then Audio Device Settings and make sure that your headset is selected for both Input and Output Device. Hit okay and you're good to go.

You may need to add the Bluetooth device first by scanning for it (in the Settings > Bluetooth tab).

Yes, it's already paired and shows as "connected" and there are options but nothing for input/output, only stuff like disconnect/connect/info. Do I have to press a button in the game to key the mic or something?

Iv'e had trouble with it too but it's sorted now ... go to audio settings can't remember what it's called but it will give you the option to turn your mic up to level 5 .. on the same page there is input output if you change the bottom 1 it changes from hearing people through your TV or hearing them in your earpiece .. I haven't got official and I found it was clearer through the TV... also don't think your name shows up on TV when you speak.

Okay, I don't know how to make it any easier so I took some pics with my phone to show the steps. Excuse the quality.

1) Accessory Settings
2) Audio Device Settings
3) Select your headset for Input/Output

Sorry... was temporarily distracted by Bob going backwards through the gravel at 150mph!

My bad :D

Don't worry about it, happens to everyone. :D

Ok. I was only going to the audio settings outside of accessory settings. I'll try again. Thanks a ton for your help and taking the photos.
