"No Time To Die" - Bond 25 Official ThreadMovies

Strange bit of Bond-themed trivia: a malware attack that started this week uses a programme called "Petya". Petya is an aggressive ransomware programme that infects systems, but it doesn't always take. If it fails, it installs a sister programne called "Mischa", which is similar, but less aggressive.

Petya and Mischa were the two satellites in GoldenEye; indeed, these programmes are part of the "GoldenEye" family of malware.

I don't rate Danny Boyle, so no big loss in my opinion.

I think in the case of Bond it's a pretty formulaic franchise that doesn't on the face of it see the difference one director makes over another.

Bond will be Bond whoever directs it because Broccoli and Co run the show and that's probably why Danny left in the first place.

So...

... interesting to see what kind of technological terror Malek will wield.

They really need to close the whole Casino Royale storyline in this movie. I don't see Christoph Waltz anywhere in the credits. So I take it they're just forgetting the whole Blofield storyline? Ehh I'll pass. As for this being Craig's last Bond film, I'd be fine with them making Edris Elba or Henry Cavill the next Bond.

I've not be much of a fan of the Daniel Craig era Bond films. I'm hoping whoever they get next, they go back to focusing more on the characters adventures, than the character himself. Also I'm hoping it's not Idris Elba..

So the set blew up today.... some sort of explosion stunt gone wrong. One crew member has been hurt, I hope its not too serious. The building has been badly damaged.

I don't follow the issue with this myself.

As far as I can tell, in "Bond 25", Bond has retired and the new 007 is not Bond, but someone else. 00 Branch would still be active, and there's only nine agents in the film version of the department, so of course they'd replace him with another agent.

That doesn't mean that the next Bond film will star that actor as Bond - that character isn't Bond, it's 007.

I personally don't like secret agent/assassin movies where a woman is the star.. not my cup of tea :P Everyone else will enjoy it no doubt! .. but like GOT everything must come to an end someday 👍

She's definitely not the star of Bond 25. Daniel Craig will be, playing the retired Commander Bond (they have been working up to that storyline since Skyfall) who will no doubt be called back into action to combat a existential threat from a hitherto unknown enemy in the shadows.

Lynch - who was Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel - will just be playing a double-O agent, who happens to be 007, taking over the position and job title from the retired Bond.

I certainly see a day where we'll get a female-led 00 film or spinoff series - thinking of the ": A Star Wars Story" films, or "Fast and Furious Presents:" - with a new female 00 character, but Bond 25 isn't it. Bond 25 is a Bond film, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, and I doubt Bond 26 will be anything other than James Bond either.

I think a lot of media fed baited headlines to trigger people over this film; I know I nearly was until I researched more outlets. Some of the original gossip articles detailed that the woman would be 007 at the beginning of the film, & Bond comes out of retirement at some other point in the movie. And when Bond first meets her, he tries to seduce her and fails, realizing he has resurfaced in a "#metoo society". None of the articles ever actually reassured that Craig was the still the star & that our female 007 lead pulls Bond back into his old work pretty much after she's been established.

Thanks for explaining the plot line Famine 👍 It definitely makes it sound better, I will watch Bond 25 but when he's gone so am I 👍

Bond 26 is going to be about insecure white male supremacists trying to catch an electric ride hailing service to a tofu bar during Gay pride week... he shoots himself in the head... John Barry Orchestra wells up... All the triggered people in the audience literally die choking on their own vomit.

Good times.

Yeah, I'm not too bothered either.

The thing that bothers me most is that having "a black Bond" would have been perfect with Charles Robinson, Bond's colleague in the Brosnan era. Just a bit of a missed opportunity.

I think there's plenty of ways to introduce a decent black character, and having a black female double-O agent is a sensible way of doing it - I doubt it'd get much of a reaction if it weren't for the timing of a new Bond arriving.

My money is on a spin-off net-flix show... they can set up 007 as a black woman in the film, and then have a spin-off series about her missions prior to whatever her fate is in Bond 25. Expand the Bond-universe, get some of that streaming service money.

Personally I'm getting tired of the Craig-era films though, it's time to bring back a bit of fun to the franchise.

Loads of people (me included) liked Colin Salmon to succeed Brosnan - and he was recently an ex-MI6 agent in Limitless :D People have been tipping Idris Elba to succeed Craig, for that matter.

It's just "black woman Bond" seems to have set people off, even though it isn't what's happening - although "those" newspapers appear to have been rather curiously vague on the matter, as if they want to suggest it is what's happening.

Sounds like one of the names rejected from the same brainstorming session that came up with Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day.

I expect the one after this to be called something like Didn't Die Yesterday.

Or, Won't die tomorrow, Die next week, Not dead yet, Your time to die, The Day after your not dead, The day before, the day after your dead.

It isn't the best title ever.

Today Is Just Tomorrow's Yesterday. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw that one day.

But yes, this title does sound like half the Bond titles ever put together.

They do seem to be obsessed with Live/Kill/Die - I think this would be the eighth with one of those in it (add "Love" and you get ten), and Live and Let Die had two. Bond 26 will likely be Livekill McDeathlove.

That said, some of the films with more lyrical titles have been absolutely mince.
